40 Trip

The next day, Mijoo ignored Daehyun as much as she could.

They had their breakfast before going out for a one day trip. The ladies packed some food and water for the road. Daehyun was cleaning the car. He had particularly nothing to do. 'Are you ladies ready to go on the best trip evahhhhhh!' No reaction. It made Daehyun look like a fool. He deserves it.

Mijoo sat at the back of the seat next to Melis leaving Daehyun out the circle. 'Who proposed first?' Asked Melis. 'I did, but got rejected. There was this situation and I had to confess. But he saw me as just Mijoo the old classmate.' Mijoo felt sad for a minute until Daehyun jumped in to the conversation. 'It didn't take long until I fell for her lovely charms.'

'Dump him while you can. He is just dumb when it comes to relationships. He had like three girlfriends before you and non of them lasted for a month. I'll find you someone better. My husband has a single friend. He is a nice guy and handsome, earns good money too.' Melis bad mouthed her brother all the way.

'I didn't know you were married? For how long?' Mijoo ignored the rest. 'It's been almost 2 years now. He can't come right now. He's overseas for some projects.' Melis showed Mijoo their photos taken together. Her husband is way taller than Melis, with jet black hair. 'So sweet. How about a child?'

'Sam has it really busy lately. Next year once he is promoted he'll have some time. He doesn't want to have me only look out for the baby.' Melis had a soft facial expression. So did Mijoo. 'How thoughtful of him.'

'I have been listening to the conversation. But why didn't you give Melis an answer? About the dump him and I'll find someone else for you part.' He looked at Mijoo though the back mirror.

'My ear is buzzing.' Mijoo rubbed her ear out. 'Ignore it. It must be a pervert.' Mijoo nodded her head. Daehyun signed. This is going to be a long day. Mijoo and Melis kicking it off while dumping Daehyun.

They have arrived at a place where only a few people were present. The nature was pretty. The trees are covered under snow giving it a postcard look. The feeling of stepping on fresh snow is the best. Their surrounding was magical and so quiet. Totally peaceful. Daehyun had rented a cabin for the day. He loaded their stuff out of the car and brought in inside the cabin.

'I love these things. Especially snow.' Mijoo's eyes are glowing. Daehyun creeped closer trying to give her a back hug but failed. Mijoo was taking out her phone from her back pocket to capture the beauty of the scene. She accidentally elbowed Daehyun. He groaned while bringing his hands over his stomach. Mijoo turned around in panic. 'Where did I hit you? Are you okay?' She felt guilty. 'It's fine. Don't worry.' He tried to pretend as if it did not hurt. Mijoo tried to rub his stomach and looked him in the eye with worry.

'I'm fine, really!' Daehyun laughed. 'I must have deserved it.' Daehyun stuck out his hand and took Mijoo by her wrist and pulled her in for a warm embrace. Mijoo closed her eyes and took in the warmth. 'I feel like I can lose you any moment if I don't hold you like this.'

'Oh, but miss Mijoo. You'll never escape me. If you do. Be prepared once I find you. You'll pay by tenfold, dolly.'

Melis walked in and saw the scene. 'Sam is….. Oh God! I'm leaving right now.' She stomped on her feet and left. Mijoo and Daehyun looked at each other and smiled. 'Should we also go in our room?' Mijoo shook her head. 'I want to go outside for a walk.' Daehyun looked like a sad puppy. Mijoo took him by his arm and pulled him. 'Come on. Let's go.'

Now Mijoo was standing in the white covered sheet that was once a green forest. She slowly took her step and carefully placed it on the snow. The cracking sound under her boots is like music to her ears. Mijoo walked further away from the cabin into the wood. The quite surrounding is relaxing. She felt her body became light and so did her head. It began to spin. Mijoo felt nauseous and grabbed her stomach. It's here again. The pain caused her to lose balance which made her fall on the snow. Even in this ice-cold weather, she began to sweat. She had the urge to grab onto something. Hold it tight, so she won't drift away. Mijoo began the breath more rapidly. Calling for Daehyun is impossible. 'Daehyun….' No one will hear her soft voice like that. The whole world was spinning in front of her eyes. She laid on the snow waiting for Daehyun. That's the only thing she could do. And to stay awake off course. Which felt like ages. She could no longer stay awake and closed her eyes. Mijoo passed out in the middle of the wood.

Daehyun was finally finished putting thick clothes on. He opened the door but could not see Mijoo anywhere. He called her name a few times. 'Mijoo? Mijoo?.... ' No answer back. Where could she have wandered off to? Daehyun walked in circles, could not find anything until he saw footsteps molded in the snow. He followed it in a hurry because it started to snow. He doesn't want to loose the clue. It didn't take long for him to find Mijoo's hat covered in snow. No signs of Mijoo. 'Mijoo! Where are you? Don't play games like this. Let's go back to the cabin. Mijoo…' Daehyun felt as if his body is trying to tell him something in Morse code. He heard a buzzing sound in his head. It kept beeping over and over again.

'Phone. Where is my phone!' He searched in his pocket and couldn't find it. He quickly turned around and sprinted to the cabin. He burst into the kitchen grabbing for his phone that was next to Mijoo's. 'Shit! Great! What now. Think Daehyun think.' He called Nick. 'Nick. Find out where Mike is. Hurry.'

'Why?' Said Nick uninterested. Daehyun began to rise his voice. 'He might have kidnapped Mijoo. I can't find her. She… she is not here. Her phone is with me. I need to find her.' He kicked the wall. Melis came out of her room. 'Brother? What happened?'

'I'll let you know once I know more.' Nick end the call.

'Brother?' tried Melis again walking to Daehyun. 'Mijoo is… Have you seen her?' But Melis shook her head. 'No. The last time I saw her, she was with you.'
