4 What now?

"What's wrong?" Mr. Peters asks while I look at him frightened and shake my head looking back at my worksheet clutching onto my desk. He pats my shoulder and leaves me be. "Talk to me after class ok?" He adds from behind me and walks back to his desk while the class scribbles on their papers.

I turn toward the glass once more to see if I could see the figure again but to no avail. I look at my worksheet and get back to work and choose to forget what I saw. I had to prepare my excuse for Mr. Peters at the end of class.

I feel the comfort of Mr. Peters hand on my shoulder as he comes up from behind me. "Come to the hallway I want to talk to you." He says and I nod packing my things for when the bell rang and follow him to the hallway.

I follow him through the doorway and close it behind me and turn to him. "What happened back there earlier? You looked so scared. What did you see why weren't you answering me?" He asked concerned and I look down embarrassed. "I thought I saw something but it wasn't anything I'm sorry for worrying you." I lied and he doesn't buy it. "Jade, you looked fear-stricken, and that's hard to fake. Tell me what's wrong." He presses and I look up at him nervously. "Well I keep getting these black notes," I state showing him the cards which are blank. "They get engraved at certain times then disappear. One appeared in my binder then told me to look at the window and I saw a figure in the trees out the window and I got so scared." I admit starting to shake from fear and worry.

He steps closer to me and envelops me in his arms to help soothe my worry and fear. "It's ok Jade, you're not alone you're not going to get hurt, you're going to be fine." He tried to sooth while holding me and I hold onto him still slightly shaking. The bell rings and I rush back into the room to grab my bag before heading out the door.

Lunch. Oh god. I don't want it to end.

I rush to the cafeteria to grab my food and meet Ryan at our usual table. I sit down first while I spot him still in line and start stress eating. He finally makes his way over and looks at me. "So what do you want from the snack ba- oh god why are you eating so fast? Are you making another contest? You know you're cheating because you started first." He states setting his food down next to me and I swallow my bite. "I'm just stressed that's all..." I mumble under my breath loud enough for him to hear me.

"You? Stressed? That's impossible. You're the most stress-free person I have ever met since when did you have stress?" He says dramatically and I give him my death glare and he puts on a serious look. "Oh, you're serious. What's going on?" He asks not bothering touching his food. I could swear Ryan was that gay guy that would follow the loner girl around for support and this is what it felt like.

"I keep getting black note cards that say things that soon disappear and a figure appeared out the window and then once I blinked it disappeared as well and I'm just freaking out..." I rant trying to explain.

He places a hand on top of mine and looks me straight in the eyes to gain my attention. "Jade, whatever is going on, I'm gonna help you through it ok?" He insists while giving me small amounts of comfort. I nod in agreement and give him a small smile before hugging him.

We let go and nod at each other before turning toward our food when a smoothie is poured onto my head and cascades down my hair and onto my clothes. I close my eyes and hold my hands out in astonishment while turning and opening them again to see Thomas holding the empty cup.

"Psych, smoothie prank. Take that you cunt." He blurts laughing with his friends before walking off and dropping the cup onto the floor. Ryan gets up to stomp after him but I grab his arm and pull him down so he doesn't try to pick a fight with him. "No....leave him," I growl getting up from my seat to head to the bathroom.

I make it to the bathroom and start washing the smoothie out of my hair from the sink water and bend over to run the water over the strands. I straighten back up and notice another black notecard beside me on the counter. I glance at it and see the engraving being written and read it as it goes.

"Don't scream...." I instantly look around the bathroom and see no one was there. God, I hope this is just a prank. I turn toward the mirror and the figure from the forest stands behind me and just as I was about to scream his hand latches around my mouth.

A dark husky voice resounds near my left ear as he presses closer to me, his hand still holding my mouth closed. "I said don't scream. What happened to waiting for me after lunch?" He turns me around to face him and I never felt so terrified....and so turned on in my life.
