1 Introduction
Karl's POV
"Wake up Karl! You will be late for school!" Someone exclaimed
"Arghh! Mom why do you always have to shout whenever you are trying to wake me up?"
He looked at his clock and it says "7:00 AM" which means he is not yet late for school. Then it hit him, that it is the first day of summer and his mom must be playing tricks on him! He proceeded to get downstairs and eat some breakfast.
"Mom, its the first day of summer, why did you wake me up so early?"
"HAHAHA! I got you good didn't I? Anyways, I woke you up early because I need to go to the office and since you are the only one here at home, there are some rules that you must follow or else I'll ground you, that includes mobile phones and your computer. Do you understand?"
His mom then lists some of the things he must do inside the house, including cleaning up after himself and throwing out the garbage. For him, these things are easy considering there are only two of them inside this house and his mom does the other chores so he is fine.
"I cooked some poached egg and hotdogs for breakfast and its in the counter. Do not forget to eat your breakfast okay? Love you!" his mom said as she leaves for work.
"*Yawns* Might aswell eat and clean up so I can finish everything early so I can do my own thing later."
Karl is 18 years old and because her mom would be alone, he decided against moving out and living on his own. She didn't even want him to get a job because they have their own business which can provide for the both of them. Which means for the first day of summer, aside from doing chores he will be bored and will probably just watch random stuff on Youtube.
After finishing all the chores that was assigned to him by his loving mother. He decided to go upstairs. He just got into his room when his phone rang and when he saw the number, he smiled.
It was Dave, his bestfriend and his most trusted person after his mother. They are the same age and are basically twins because you will never see one without the other.
"Yo! Do you remember the game that I have told you about before the semester ends, the one that was released today?" Dave said.
"Yeah I think I remember that one Dave, I told you I am not interested in playing that VR game right?" Karl said.
"Come on man, Its been years since we played something together. It will be fun!"
"I will try, but I am not promising anything. Gotta take a bath, laters man." Karl cuts off the line.
This is the year 2030, where the Virtual Reality of games are not new anymore, because a year ago VR was perfected to the point that everything feels real when you are using the Hub. The Hub is a device that is technically a Hair Spa Chair that was customized with all the latest computer technology. Once you sit and put on the helmet, your entire consciousness will be transferred to the Virtual Game World you chose.
He finished his bath and thought that Dave was right, maybe this is the time to give VR game another shot.
He took a plain white shirt and some old jogging pants, went downstairs to get some water before going in The Hub.
As soon as he sits on the device, he is welcomed by the interface. He browsed on the games list the name "Revival : Legends Online"
It costs only 500 credits. Since this device was connected to everything, even to his own bank account, he decided to buy it since he has savings and can afford it.
Upon purchasing, he was prompted that the device will now download the said game and it will take approximately 3 hours.
Karl decided to lay down on his bed and just watch a movie on his mobile about a boy and his dragon.
He fell asleep while watching the movie.
Karl woke up and checked the clock, it says 12:21 in the afternoon which means he slept around 4 hours. He took the glass of water from his bedside and went to check the Hub if the game he purchased has finished downloading - It was. It is better to eat first before playing, so he decided to go downstairs and cook something before starting the game.
Karl checked his phone and saw 21 missed calls, oh man it was all Dave. That guy is insane! So he dialed Dave.
"What the hell man, why would you call me 21 times?" Karl said with annoyance in his voice.
"Dude, I have downloaded the game and is now currently playing, I answered your call through the Hub and right now I am outside the starting area trying to kill this boar." Dave said with excitement clear in his voice.
"Whatever man, I just woke up and I will cook lunch. I will try to login later once I finished eating and cleaning up." Karl said while preparing for things to cook.
"Okay man, I'll see you later. Call me when you are in-game okay?" Dave said before he cut the call off.
With his lunch done, he left a message to his mother saying he will be in his room connected to The Hub so he cannot answer the door.
Karl went upstairs and went in The Hub. He booted up the newly downloaded game which showed a message : Do you want to start the transfer? He pressed yes and he felt a tugging and then darkness. He saw a light and with it a voice.
"Hello and welcome to Revival : Legends Online. Our records show that the Hub you are using has no data in it. You cannot change your gender as the system has detected that you are male. Do you want to customize your avatar or do you want the system to randomize everything for you including your name and race?"
"No, I want to customize my race and name."
"Okay player, for the race you can choose the following:"
"Orc : The orcs are green skinned being standing 7 feet tall and they are very muscular.
"Elf: The elves are fair skinned and looks like a human being except they have pointy ears,green eyes and are more slender.
"Human: The largest race, they are the predominant race in existence in the world of Sevis. Lesser in terms of physical abilities but makes up for it by the advances in human technology.
Dwarf : The dwarves have human-like appearance but they are smaller than most regular humans, the tallest among them standing 5 feet tall.
Karl chose elf. He made his avatar as a 6 foot elf with long blonde hair. He named himself Nova.
"Are you sure about this options player? If yes, you will be transferred to the World of Sevis. Please do note that there is a time difference in game. That a day in game will be considered a day outside of the game." He pressed yes and he was welcomed with darkness. He blinked but when he opened his eyes he was welcomed to a new world. This is the World of Sevis.
He spawned in a place called Aritea. Infront of him was woman NPC ( Non Player Character ) named Gil.
"Welcome to the world of Sevis, You are in Forest of Aritea, the elf country. I am Gil. We hope you enjoy the game! For feedbacks regarding the game please talk to me so I can show you the interface where you can file it." Gil said with the most amazing smile Karl has ever seen.
He tried to remind himself that this is a VR game and she doesn't exist outside of this game.
The first thing that got his attention is there are no buildings here, rather they are inside the biggest trees he has ever seen in his entire life. The hole in the trunks of the trees are the one that is occupied by the elves. He left Gil and continued on walking when he remembered that Dave told him to call when he gets inside. So he pulled up the hub interface and he called Dave.
"Dave, I am ingame right now, where the hell are you?"
"I am still outside the starting point, also what race did you pick?" dave asked.
"I picked elf and I am currently in this big ass forest called Aritea. What did you pick?"
"I picked human and I am currently outside the Union City. We will meet when we can leave the starting grounds, for now just level." Dave told Karl,
"Okay then." and Karl cuts of the call.
He thought about "Status" and The Hub opened the tab for him.

He has no weapon but atleast he has something to wear. Nothing special really, some peasant clothes. They provide 1 defense each.
Closing the interface, Karl set off to check out the place where he landed.
