6 Day 2 cont...

Karl's POV

With his newly acquired equipments, he returned farther into the forest. It was easier now since he doesn't attract reds as much as he does. He went to the clearing, then followed the river. There he saw some Karka boar and killed them disabling them first before slicing their necks. He was notified by the system that he is out of the Overgrown Forest and is now walking to the Midea Plains. In the middle of the Plains is a Gigantic Tree. Since he is alone and is not carrying much, he decided to run with all he got.

He got winded after an hour of running but he was close. 30 more minutes of walking and he arrived at the base of the tree. He is quite tired from all that running and decided to take a rest on one of its very large roots. When he sat down and leaned back, his screen went black. When it returned he saw elves sitting in a room, talking with worry on their faces. He is like underwater because he can barely hear them, he understood some words though. Danger, Monsters, Elves, Midea. Those are the only words that makes sense to him. One of the elves stood up, She has ivory-white hair and eyes that contains the hue of the forest surrounded with dark moss. Heart shaped face that is envied by all women. Her skin makes porcelain look rough. She looked directly at where he is located. He panicked, he felt as if he was spying on something important. The woman walked toward the place he was standing when the screen went black again and he was back on where he was before. That was really really weird and confusing. Karl thought to himself.

After 15 minutes of resting up, he received a chat from someone and he pulled up the communication interface. It was from Dave.

DvE: Man, how are you? I am level 9 and decided which class I will be taking. I am going for Page.

Nova: I am fine, I just hit level 7 but I still have no idea which class should I use. I will check out the forums if they have some basic class guides.

DvE: Ok man. Anyway where are you? I am still in Union City and I have a party with me, including you we would be complete. I hope we can play together already man!

Nova: Yeah, I hate this system where you cannot leave the vicinity of the starter town.

DvE: Well actually you can leave, the problem is the monsters are stronger outside which means unless you hit level 10 first, you cannot survive. Where are you anyway?

Nova: Well I went through the Overgrown Forest and Midea Plains, so right now I am near a big ass tree.

DvE: We don't really have an open map so I have no idea where that is.

Nova: oh well nvm then. This tree seems interesting. It feels alive so I will look around first. Laters!

Karl closed the chat off, he knew his friend is talkative and it will hinder his goal for today.

Standing up, he went around the tree, walking for 36 minutes until he found something. A ramplike entrance to the tree. Steeling himself, he went on inside. He was startled by what he saw inside. It was an ancient looking city that is bustling with people and their commerce. Shops are lively and people are actively bargaining for items. The big tree is a city? He thought to himself. He was trying to absorb everything infront of him when he was bumped from behind saying he should move forward, and so he did. He continued walking for awhile when something caught his eye. It was the elf Arfilla! He approached her and said

"Hi Arfilla, where are we?"

Doing a mock bow she said "Welcome, we are in the City of Midea, Country of the Elves"

"So this is a city, but I walked inside a tree to get here!" Karl replied.

"Ah, so you found the entrace in the middle of Midea Plains huh. Thats called a Warp Portal. It can be used to go in and out of places which it is connected to. Although it was well hidden, good job on finding it." Arfilla said.

"Oh okay, so I can go out of here if I wanted to right? Where is the nearest place to find monsters?" Karl asked Arfilla.

"You can go back to Midea Plains where the monsters are easier to deal with. Other portals here would lead you to harder monsters. But I suggest you stay for the day. It is the Queen's Birthday today!" Arfilla said with excitement.

"I guess it won't hurt, I mean I am already behind levels. What is the point of rushing. Alright I will stay until the celebration is done. Is there somewhere we can stay?" Karl said to Arfilla.

"I have a house near the central district of this place, lets go there and we can eat some food." Arfilla offered.

"Okay, lead the way." Karl said in agreement.

And they went around the city, looking at items the shops sell. They bought some vegetables for making a stew when they arrive at Arfilla's later. They went inside an inn named Forest Inn where they occupied quite a nice suite. It is big enough for a small family, complete with bathroom and kitchen. They talked a little, mostly Arfilla asking questions about Karl like what class would he want when he reach level 10, is he currently single and she also asked if he still has the coin and sword. While they were eating, Arfilla reminded Karl that he must keep the coin safe. The sword on the other hand can be kept on its sheath as they are in the city.

The night of the celebration arrived and Arfilla said that the Queen will have a parade around the whole city. When he came out, there is a crowd outside and everyone is celebrating. Dancing around, a lot of music and you can see animals of the forest gathering nearby for a glance at their royal. Suddenly, everyone fell silent. An elf wearing green and gold colors riding atop a majestic white horse , with guards around her started getting into view. It took quite awhile for the parade to finally go past them, there were a deafening cheers of the masses. When Karl saw the face of the Queen, he knew he saw her somewhere but sadly he cannot recall. She looked really familiar. After the cheers died down and the music continued to play again. Karl looked for Arfilla but she was nowhere to be seen. She probably followed the parade, Karl thought. He even went back to her place to check if she is already home but sadly she was not there. With nothing else to do in mind, he went back to the Portal that he used to go inside.

He is now back to Midea Plains. Arfilla told him that there are monsters on the East and West side of the fields. Whenever you play games, the left side is always the way to go. BUT, he will go right because he needs to check out everything first. When he went past the fields, there is a small hill that is covered by plant life. Deciding he needs a better vision of the area, he climbed up the hill. He saw creatures on the other side. They were Goblins that carries a variety of weapons. This goblins aren't what we depicted in movies, not even close. This guys were not 3 feet tall with funny looking face. They are 5 feet tall and are absolutely terrifying to look at. The goblins were all reds, luckily he saw some goblins that were farther from the huge group. Closing in on one of the lone goblins, he used his sword and stabbed it on the neck. The part where the spine and head was connecting.

-You dealt a fatal attack to the monster, Goblin died-

-You got 500 experience-

-You got 1 dirty cloth-

Satisfied, he went to another and tried the same technique but this time he failed. It detected him and it dodged his blow. It attacked him instantly, swinging its axe to him missing him by a hair. He ran a little farther, making sure they weren't heard by other goblins around the area. Facing the goblin still chasing him, he attacked it, swinging his sword using his right hand. He has a problem now though, the axe the goblin was using has farther reach than his short sword. Karl was smart though, he waited for the goblin to attack. It attacked him, using an overhead strike, it was slower than him so he went closer and stabbed it in the chest. He dealt 20% damage. He went behind and sliced making an X wound at the back of goblin. Not stopping there, he went to its side and stabbed it once more. Before dying the goblin did a screech, surely it was heard around him. Not wasting a second he dashed toward the opposite direction. He almost tripped because of panic. He was panting when he stopped. He looked around and thinks he is lost. He tried to get the map shown in his screen but sadly a notification popped saying he needs to buy a map first. With a sigh, he walked searching for a way back, he stumbled upon a cave entrance. Warily, he got his sword out and walked. He got a notification saying this is the Cave of Colossus. Another notification saying that he received a quest. Perplexed, he read through it.

"Cleansing of the Colossus"

You, adventurer must travel inside the cave and cleanse it of the horrors of magic. Monsters that absorbed the tampered magic inside the cave have become corrupted. Remove the source of corruption.

Reward : 18,000 Experience and 2 silvers

He closed the tab about the quest and thought about it. He has stocked up potions and if the need of escape rises, he has a Scroll of Teleportation. So in he go.
