Hunting

Walking out of the small cabin, we began to walk toward the nearest city. After ten minutes of a quiet walk through the plains, Simon spoke.

"Young master, why do you suddenly want to become an adventurer?"

"To get stronger, I want to enter Palvion Academy, and I need to have the strength to protect us before we go next year," I explained.

"So you still wish to go to the academy? I was hoping you wouldn't," Simon sighed.

"Why is that?"

"Because he goes to that academy, and he will do everything he can to make your life a living hell," Simon said, clearly pissed off.

"That's why I'm going. He will pay for what he did to my family and everyone who helped him," I replied, clutching my staff.

1 hour...

Once we finally arrived at the nearest city, we joined the line to the city gate. After another twenty minutes, we reached the front of the line. Since we didn't have identification, we paid the entrance fee of three coppers per person.

[A/N: 100 copper = 1 Silver/ 100 Silver =1 Gold/1000 gold =1 Platnium. One copper can get you a hard loaf of bread. 1 Silver is the cost of a night at an average-sized inn. One gold can buy a protected carriage ride to another city. 1 platinum can last a city three years]

After paying the fee with the little money we had, we made our way to the Adventures Guild, thanks to the guidance of the gate guards. Reaching the building, we both looked at each other before walking inside.

Inside, there were tables scattered around with adventures, talking, laughing, and planning. As we walked to the front desk, we gained some looks from the adventures, but then they went back to what they were doing.

Reaching the front desk, we were greeted by a woman with long blonde hair and blue eyes. She had a smile on her face as she greeted us.

"Hello, welcome to Helio City Adventures Guild. How may I help you today?"

"Hello, we would like to register as adventures," I replied

"Oh, new adventures; well then, let me be the first to welcome you; now please fill out these forms, then come back here when you're done," she said, handing each of us a piece of paper.

Walking towards an empty table, we began to fill out the information, such as our class, skills, and level. Changing up some of my information, I looked over at Simon; to my surprise, he was already a level 20 assassin.

Going back to the receptionist's desk, we handed in the filled-out forms. Taking the papers from us and she scanned them over.

"A level 20 assassin that impressive for someone who isn't an adventure," she said with a small smile.

Looking at my paper, her eyes went wide with surprise.

"A dark priest is a very rare class; you must be very lucky," she said before putting the papers down.

Reaching under the desk she pulled out a glass orb.

"This is an appraisal orb that will determine your starting rank; just place your palm on it and let it do the rest," she explained.

Walking up to the orb, Simon placed his palm on it. A few seconds later, the orb began to glow, and the letter C appeared on the orb.

"You are now a C-rank adventure. Congratulations,"

"Better than I thought," Simon said, taking a step back.

Walking up to the orb, I placed my plan on it. After a few seconds, the orb began to glow, but unlike Simons, it didn't stop glowing. Soon, the other adventures in the room began to look at the bright light.

"What's going on?" one of them asked

"Holy shit, don't you remember when Klark did his appraisal? His also glowed this bright," another said

"Are you telling me this kid is already strong enough to be an A-rank adventure," One said surprised

Soon, the orb stopped glowing, and as everyone watched in anticipation, words began to appear on the orb.

[Unapprasible]

When everyone saw this, they began to be confused since they had never seen it before.

"...I'm sorry, sir, but since the orb can't appraise you, I will have to place you in E-rank for your safety," the receptionist said with a frown

"HAHAHA, we really thought he was about to be A-rank but he is just another E-rank," one large man with a bald head laughed

Ignoring his taunt, I looked back at the receptionist.

"Can you please show me all the quests I can do?" I asked

"Very well, you can choose from the goblin quest, slime quest, or herb gathering quest," she said, placing three papers before me.

"...Am I allowed to accept all three?" I asked

"Yes, you can, but each one has a time limit, so be careful how many quests you accept," she explained.

"Thank you," I said, grabbing all three quests.

Turning around, I walked toward the exit. As we walked, I could hear the snikers and whispers of the other adventures. Ignoring them, we left the guild and soon entered the city.

"Don't worry about what they said. I know the young master is stronger than E-rank," Simon said

"I know, and thank you, Simon," I replied, patting his head.

Leaning into my pats, Simon had a smile on his face.

After a ten-minute walk, we arrived at the location where the goblins were spotted. After walking around for a while, we ran into a group of three goblins.

"Young master, shall I deal with them," Simon said, holding his daggers.

"No, I wish to test out my skills," I replied, holding my hand out.

Using the skill of flesh control, I imagined their bodies exploding. The next moment, all three goblins busted open, and their blood went flying everywhere.

"Woah, that's stronger than I thought," I said, surprised.

x3[You have killed low-level goblin]

[Level up: +1 all stat points/+10 unassigned stat points]

Looking at the carnage, I was even more surprised when the flesh started moving towards me. Taking at step back the blobs of flesh, bone a blood rushed in my body.

"Master, what was that?" Simon based worriedly

[You have absorbed goblin blood: Blood capacity increased/Increased blood control]

[You have absorbed goblin bone: Bone density increased/Bone control increased]

[You have absorbed goblin flesh: Flesh durability increased/Blood control increased]

"Don't worry, Simon, that was a good thing," I said, feeling my strength slightly increase.

Continuing into the woods, we killed the required number of goblins, but I made sure to cut their ears off before absorbing them.

After an hour of killing goblins, I was able to reach level 5, and my skill, Flesh control, reached level 12; no, I could control my own flesh, creating weapons from my bones or using my blood like a dart.

When Simon first saw me create a dagger from my bone, he passed out. When we woke up, I handed him two daggers made from my bone sand. Thanks to the increased density, they were sharper than his old daggers.

With the Golbin quest done, we moved on to the slime. Thanks to my increased level and better control over my skills, I was able to kill the smile easily. All I had to do was create a field of bone spike that killed the smile in one shot.

Finishing the slime quest we gathered the necessary herds finishing the last quest. With all of them done, we reach the city. Walking back to the adventures guild, we handed in the three quests and got a reward of 10 silver.

As the sun began to set, we brought some groceries from the stalls. Once we got back home, it was nighttime, and we were both tired.

After I took a bath, Simon readied for me. I went to the kitchen to make dinner while he took a bath. When he got out of the bath, he was surprised to see me cooking dinner.

"Young master, please sit down; let me cook dinner," Simon said, walking to the kitchen.

"It's fine, Simon. I'm almost done," I replied, placing the plates on the table.

"...But it's my job to cook," Simon said, a little down.

Placing the food on the table, I sat next to Simon, who looked at the food hungrily.

"I didn't know that master knew how to cook," Simon said, surprised.

"Yeah, I'm just trying to make things easier for you; I will do the cooking from now on," I replied, taking a bite of my food.

As I ate, I looked over at Simon, who was looking down as he clenched his fist on his legs.

"Master, you don't plan to throw me away, right?" Simon asked in a quiet voice

"What are you talking about, Simon?" I asked

"Well, the young master suddenly changed, and now it seems like you know how to live for yourself,"

"What does that have to do with anything?"

"I just don't want you to leave me. It's my job to cook, but you said you would do it from now on. Do you also plan to do other things yourself until you don't need me," Simon said, his body shaking.

"What are you talking about? I would never leave you," I replied

"T-That's what my other master said; he also started doing things himself until he said he didn't need me anymore, and he threw me away," Simon said with a shakey voice.

Looking at his clenched fist, I saw tears drip down onto his hands. Understanding what he met, I lift up his chin, exposing his teary face. Leaning in close, I gave him a deep kiss on the lips.

Feeling my kiss, Simons's eyes went wide in surprise; after a moment, he calmed down and leaned into the kiss. Breaking the kiss, I looked at his flushed face and spoke.

"Simon, I will never leave you. I need you," I said, caressing his cheek.

Hearing my words, he smiled and landed into my touch.

"Thank you young master,"
