1 CHAPTER 1: RESTRAINT SYSTEM

IN THE HOSPITAL,

A young doctor in his early 30s entered the ward with a syringe and a stethoscope hung around his neck.

A beautiful, good-looking blonde woman sat at the bedside looking at her painted ravishing blue finger nails without noticing the doctor's presence. When the doctor saw her busy sitting at the bedside, he greeted her with a slight smile on his face.

" Good afternoon, Mrs Blackwell."

"Good afternoon, doctor Jamie",she greeted him back and was still staring at her alluring painted blue finger nails.

She stood up, then stretched out her arms and yawned gently . Doctor Jamie was very patient, waiting for her next move because she said nothing rather than yawning ",doctor Jamie is three months pregnant,can you help me examine my health and the baby's health?"she asked.

"Yes sure, I will examine you and your baby right away."doctor Jamie responded as he took off his stethoscope hung round his neck and placed it on the left side of his chest,

After a while, an ultrasound was used. Doctor Jamie examined the baby's shape and position in the uterus.Kelly was surprised by the horrified look on Doctor Jamie's face. The next word he said almost choked Kelly from the milk she was drinking.

He said to her, "I'll arrange for an abortion."

Kelly replied," No, Doctor Jamie, I feel fine , I'm going to have the baby."

"But Mrs Blackwell, this is about your health and your baby's health." Doctor Jamie enunciated gently, then added"if you carry the baby I am 100% sure it might kill you .

After hearing his words, she stood up and left without saying a word.

When Sunny's father heard about her visit to the hospital and what he said to his daughter, Sunny stormed into doctor Jamie's office angrily. "How dare you suggest my daughter have an abortion?"

"Sunny, I told her that if she carries the baby to term ,there is a chance it might kill her." Doctor Jamie told her.

"You are wrong Jamie! She is going to. She is going to be fine and stop alarming her." Sunny yelled in anger, then hit the table. His eyes were scorching hot like tears wanting to drop out. He just left and slammed the door. All the nurses' eyes were on Doctor Jamie. He did not know what he should do again, but he was very concerned about her life, but they were pushing her to the door of death, he thought.

Eight months later, at 6 a.m in the early morning of December, Kelly's Labour pains began pre maturely. Her moans awakened Alex. As he began dressing hurriedly, " Don't worry darling. I will take you to the hospital in no time." he assured,

The pains were agonising. Her lower abdomen hurt her badly. Then she yelled" Please hurry! The contraction is sucking me out."

She wondered whether she should tell Alex about her conversation with Doctor Jamie but she insisted because she was so adamant and silently said"no father had been right. It was her decision to make . Life was so wonderful that God would not. anything happen to her"

Finally, Alex took her to the hospital. Immediately, he got dressed.

When they got inside the hospital, everything was in readiness because Alex had already informed doctor Jamie. Alex escorted her to the waiting room without knowing that it would be the last time he was going to see her.

Kelly was taken to the examining room. The obstetrician, Dr. Manor , took Kelly's blood pressure and temperature. He frowned and took it again. He looked up and said to the nurse, " Get her into the operating room fast!"

Alex was at the cigarette machine in the hospital corridor when, when a voice behind him said "well,well,well, if it isn't a Rembrandt painter." Alex turned to see who was talking. He recognised the man who had been with Lucy in front of her apartment building. The man was staring at Alex ,an antagonistic expression on his face (Envy),

"What had Lucy told him this time?"he thought.

Lucy appeared immediately. As she said to Ben, the nurses said Dora was in intensive care. We will come -"she saw Alex. A brief shiver sparked in her spine. And asked,

"Alex, what are you doing here ?"

"My wife is having a baby,"he responded simply.

"Did your father arrange it this time ?" Ben asked with an evil smirk which appeared on his face, making him look like a devil.

"What does that supposed to mean?" Alex asked in a confused voice.

"Lucy told me your mother arranged everything for her, she's probably dead. It will be your father-in-law that arranged it for Sonny." Ben replied mockingly.

Alex' anger was getting out of hand. He clenched his fist tightly, Alex was dazed by Ben's fake revelations. Seeing Alex angry, Lucy pulled Ben and said to his ear "Ben ! Stop it !"

Ben turned to Lucy, then inquired "Why ? is the truth, isn't it baby? Isn't that what you said?"

Alex turned to Lucy and asked, " What is he talking about?"

" Nothing!" she said quickly," Ben, let get out of here."

Ben was enjoying himself and said"I wish I had a mother like your buddy boy, you want a beautiful model to sleep with ,she buy you one. You want to have an exhibition in Paris, she arranged it for you,you-" before he finished his words, Lucy interrupted him.

"You are crazy" she yelled at Ben.

" Let go", she added, then pulled Ben out. Ben frowned at Alex with great hatred and yelled " Fuck you! stupid son of a bitch!"

Alex turned his head away from Ben and his culprit Lucy as he walked blindly down to the corridor.

In the operating room, the doctor Manor was fighting desperately to save Kelly's life. Her blood pressure was alarmingly low and her heartbeat was erratic. She was given oxygen and a blood transfusion. Still, it was useless. Kelly was unconscious from the cerebral hemorrhage when the first baby was out and ten minutes a after, the second twin was taken. Alex heard two babies cry from the surgery room and heard a voice calling him.

"Mr Blackwell".he turned. Doctor Manor was at his side already, then said in happiness, "Mr Blackwell, You have two beautiful healthy twins and two daughters." Alex was happy for a while and saw the look he showed the doctor's face. It showed more sadness. Then he asked "Kelly -she's alright, isn't she?"

Dr. Manor took a deep breath and responded in deep agony, " I am sorry Mr Blackwell, we did everything we could do but she died on the...?"

"She what? Alex yelled and grabbed Doctor Manor's lapels and shook his head. " You are lying, aren't you?"

"Mr Blackwell," Alex interrupted. "where is she?" I want to see her. "

"You can't go in just now. They are still preparing her" the doctor,, the manager tried to explain.

Alex cried out "you killed her, you Bastard! You killed her. He began to attack the doctor and nurses in the hospital . Two interns hurried in and grabbed Alex's arms. " Now take it easy Mr Blackwell." The doctor said ,Alex fought like a madman. Until Doctor Jamie hurried to the group "let him go",he inquired

Dr Manor and the two interns left .Alex was weeping brokenly . "Doctor Jamie, they killed my wife. They murdered her. She is dead." Doctor Jamie tried to convince him so he would not cry, then said "Alex, no one killed her.I told her a month ago that if she carries the pregnancy it could kill her."

It took a long moment for the world to sink in. "what are you talking about?"Alex yelled.

"Kelly didn't tell you? Sunny also didn't say anything, right?".Alex stared at him uncomprehending."

Mr Sunny thought I was an alarmist . He advised her to go ahead with it. I'm sorry Alex. I have seen the twins. They are healthy." before he finished talking Alex was gone.

"Oh shit, dad-in-law must lick his blood. I will make him pay." Alex was boiling in anger. When he got to the sunny apartment, his butler opened the door for him. He passed the hallway to Sunny's room. Without knocking, he pushed the door with full force . ", my foolish father in-law, I thought you were smart, not knowing the kind of bitch you are."Alex said.

" What do you mean" Sunny asked. "You killed my wife and now you're talking nonsense!" Alex yelled.

Honestly, you are a devil, you are a devil!" Sunny yelled.

" So what are you? a saint or an angel?" Alex responded coldly with his teeth grinning together."

"Out of my house, you selfish son? She is my daughter."

" I am not your son and she is my wife" Alex responded and took out a large pistol from his pocket. Then shot sunny"The world will pay for this Sunny I will destroy you all", Alex yelled, and looked at the sunny, pale body on the ground. He added "At least you have ended all the pain in your rascal life", Alex yelled and made a weird laugh. The police came in no time and noticed he had a problem with his brain. Then he was sent to a psychiatrist. When the examination had been completed the diagnosis, were the same without any changes .Alex was diagnosed with paranoiac and schizophrenic. His father, Mr Edward, Alex in the psychiatric hospital. He met a doctor who attended to him ,

"Sir Edward, your son does not respond to drugs or psychiatric treatment. He is so violent we have kept him under restraint", the doctor said.

"What kind of restraint"Edward asked.
