1 A demon sent to another world.

Two men are standing in a windowless office dimly lit by a small lamp on the ceiling.

"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!"

"That was the last group we had!"

"They were supposed to be top-of-the-line superhumans. Demons in human skin!"

"How does this make any sense!"

~ Scientist Port Till(the head scientist of 'Interdimensional Travel')

Interdimensional Travel is a secret research base, off the coast of Mexico, funded by the American government.

One wouldn't be able to find it because it was actually a massive submarine with nuclear power, when the crew needs food or clean water another submarine will come along and attach to one of its high-pressure connecting doors, ensuring that they would never have to come to the surface and accidentally reveal their lab.

In the office books of witchcraft lined the bookshelves.

Different items with runes engraved on them sat on his desk, pentagrams, hexagrams, and even many star formations.

3 phones stood on his desk, one for when he receives phone calls from fellow colleagues and those under him, another for when he receives phone calls from the head of finance, and one used only when the site has been compromised.

He is of clear American descent, with blue eyes, and a strong yet not thick body, sporting a rather scruffy beard showing that he hasn't shaven in a while.

"If I don't produce results soon! then I'm going to be 'fired'!" ~ In this business 'fired' was code for getting wiped from history and his head was starting to develop bold spots.

"U-um Sir. If I may interject." ~ Sim Art his Assistant spoke up.

This man is clearly of Chinese descent and the only reason he is allowed as an assistant for a hidden American lab is that he was raised by the American government.

"What!" ~ One could hear the clear rage in Port's voice.

The Assistant swallowed and loosened his necktie ~ "Technically that wasn't our last group..."

"You better! Not! Be! Referring to that group of sludge, waste, and useless experiments!" ~ Port Till is clearly not in the mood for any opinions.

Sim Art showed a powerless smile, "Ye-yes those ones, sir."

Port Till pulled out his pistol and aimed it directly between Sim Art's eyebrows. He stared straight into Sim Art's eyes while lightly squeezing the trigger.

But then Port's face loosened, and he put the gun back into its holster. ~ "Fine! Send them to the portal room!"

---

Ten Experiments were on their way to room 19. They weren't told much, but they were told they were going to be a part of another experiment.

These ten were collectively known by almost everyone in the facility as the ten failures.

One is called a failed experiment due to having failed all the tests.

However one must ask the question, 'Did they fail the tests because they couldn't do them?' OR 'because they didn't want to play along'.

They along with a batch of a hundred other Experiments were sent to Interdimensional Travel from the most invested-in lab owned by America called 'Awakening Center'.

Just as its name signifies, it is a place for people or beasts to get awakened, to have something paranormal awakened inside them.

They were obviously sent as a joke to Interdimensional Travel, and Port Till made sure they suffered while under his care!

E142, E492, E493, E494, E666, E1409, E1438, E1459, E1468, and E001 were all failed experiments.

E142 has better hearing. At times he could even hear up to ten times better than bats, but his greatest ability is what he calls the 'mockingbird'.

E492, E493, and E494 are telepaths, the only problem is they could only communicate with each other. All attempts at telepathy with others ended in failure.

E666 Can instantly name every ingredient used in a meal just by looking at it. If he eats it, he can then name at least 5 different ways to make a meal that tasted the same.

E1409, E1438, E1459, and E1468 all produced some form of radiation that the government deemed unusable.

E001 couldn't walk, oh and his eyes could induce fear like a predator, but at the cost of almost all of his energy.

Of course, this information on them wasn't perfect, only so much you could find out about an ability through experimentation.

They all went into a large white room, much like a cube, in the middle is a hexagram, and away from the doors is a one-way mirror, behind that mirror is Port Till along with his assistant.

"Close the doors, and start up the portal" ~ Port Till didn't give a briefing, his fatigue was evident from his weary expression.

"May I give the briefing?" ~ Assitant Sim Art had never done a briefing before and wanted to know what it felt like.

Port Didn't reply, he simply walked out of the room and waved his note board, signaling he doesn't care. He is on his way to get his last meal from the cafeteria.

"Yes!" ~ Sim Art immediately pressed the talk button and gave the situation to the Experiments.

"Hi everyone! You're all probably wondering 'why was I woken up so early in the morning?' And even more so 'what is this strange symbol on the ground?'" ~ He paused for dramatic effect.

~ "To answer the first question, you've all been selected to go to another world! This world is one of survival where only the strongest, smartest, luckiest, and most persistent will survive!"

~ "To answer the second question, That's the portal that will take you there!" ~ He then looks to his left at the progress bar for activating the portal. which is only at 10% causing him to frown.

So he looks at the Dispos... Experiments and notices something odd, "Um. . . why is E001 in a wheelchair?"

All the other Experiments know who he is talking about, but none of them speak up, instead, they form groups and start talking, except E001, who sits alone with his head down and eyes closed like he is sleeping.

This upset Sim Art and he looked at his notes, [Serial killer with over 100 confirmed kills in the span of a year!? Hot damn! well, I suppose I'm a killer of sorts as well. I send people to their deaths, and he brings death to them.] ~ Instead of being afraid, Sim Art smiled ~ "We don't need useless Experiments, whoever kills E001 gets to be exempt from this experiment!" ~ Of course he didn't have permission to do that, but it's not like the people in the room know that.

However, his smile didn't last long because not a single one of the Experiments moved. If anything every now and then, they would look at the one-way mirror, then go back to talking.

This time Sim Art yelled, "E001! If you don't move right now! I'll report you for uncooperative behavior!"

After a while, nothing happened ~ [This fucker really went to sleep!] ~ He sighs and glances at the progress bar that has reached 100%, his smile returning ~ [Well he'll die either way]

As the hexagram under their feet started to light up, E001 suddenly rose his head while opening his eyes and locked them with Sim Art's eyes through the one-way mirror.

---

A short while later Port Till walks in with a notepad, "Oh?. . . you started the portal?".

However, Sim Art didn't move or reply back.

'Odd' he thought, so he walked in for a closer look.

"I'm not going to punish you for activating the portal without my permission" ~ He placed his hand on Sim Art's shoulder, causing Sim Art's body to fall to the ground.

Port Till jumped back.

Sim Art was dead, with eyes that looked like they had seen the devil.
