10 Chapter10: Jump towards immortality

Gu yue village was filled with lighting today, kids were running in joy towards the stalls, gu masters were praying for better luck today. It was the time of year when everything was going smoothly, it's none other than the time for caravan to come.

A young boy with all black robe, black hairs to the neck and light-brown eyes was heading towards the caravan, he was Xun shung.

He is now 10 years old but due to his training and abnormal growth he looks more like a man now. With a defined jaw, sharp nose and a musculine build which was narrow at the waist, he was looking handsome enough to make women skip a beat.

Xun shung 'my opportunity finally came, this liquor warm is mine, no matter what it takes' as thinking so, he finally entered the shop. As soon as his gaze swept through he found liquor warm instantly.

After seeing with his own eyes, his gaze become excited like some kid was watching his favourite candy.

In these two years he asked many a times for this gu but due to its rarity, he couldn't find it. But now it was in front him and also the time for his secret awakening is there. He doesn't want to let go of this opportunity as he wasn't lacking in terms of money.

With his own savings, his mother and father's savings which was given to them after their death and due to clan elders support he had enough resources to support himself.

Thinking so, he saw the highest price that was written above it. He didn't place his bet, he will place it at last minute to cut-off any opponent.

And at last after half a day pricing and betting was coming to an end and he finally listed his bet and after half an hour his bet was the highest and now this worm was his.

Xun shung: "At last you are mine, now I should plan for the next course" after getting the liquor warm he placed his bets for a green copper relic gu, as it was in his plan for later use and after that he returned home as the result for the relic gu will be displayed the other day.

Several weeks gone by, and the next wolf tide is coming, gu yue clan was planning on what to do against this wolf tide, mortals were planning on how to not get slaughtered in between this fight and Xun shung was busy planning his secret awakening ceremony.

As he wouldn't be able to keep it a secret so he was planning to do it at this time, with wolf tide as an excuse, but for that some solid reason should be there and for that he was thinking about mortals as a disguise. He started to ponder on actual and solid plan, because after his parents death, elders were attentive of him and every step he takes. Awakening of his aperture was not the most important part but after that, what excuse will he pull to satisfy the leader and elders was the main issue here. His timing also should be perfect so that no one can stop him going there.

A couple of days later, the wolf tide starts and wave of crippled wolves was becoming a normal thing but it was not the time yet for Xun shung to take action.

He waited for another few days and unknowingly these few days turned into a week, now he was getting nervous. It wasn't because of his plan as his plan was decent enough and wolf tide was also approaching at it's usual speed but afterall he was a mere human, not some kind of old monster who could patiently wait for even a year for some little thing to come.

Finally after waiting for another week, the wolf tide was becoming more and more strong and fluent, healthy wolves were coming now and Xun shung knew the time has come.

On a certain day, he calls out his gaurds and asked them about their families.

Gaurds: "lord after watching many wolf tides, we mortals know that we are destined to die, so now we don't care about dying that much, this is not a perfect solution but atleast by doing this we can atleast be less sad" he said with lingering regret and sadness in his eyes.

Xun shung: "no! you are all my subordinates and I don't call quits upon my men"

"Hurry, we will go take them and you all can live in my house at night to avoid this disaster, I can't save everyone but atleast I can save you and your families" saying this his eyes reddened, after many years of acting he finally is able to act in a fine manner.

The gaurds were very happy after hearing this, they kneeled before him and with him in command left the house to take their families.

After arriving their, Xun shung saw what wonders a gu master could do and his mind was filled with amazement as this was his first time watching a war of gu masters, it was nothing like a mortal's battle in earth, strategy and tactics were the only thing that was similar. After the amazement cleared he focused back on his plan, for this he took a mortal child in his hands and ran towards to his house.

As he thought tonight's wave was dangerous enough to make elders take action and with night and wolves and blood spread everywhere it wasn't easy to see clearly and as he planned he 'accidently' fall behind and changed his route.

After running for a minute, he finally was able to reach his destination.

A narrow cave was in front of him and due to wolf tide no gaurd was standing there. He took a tree branch from his bossom and striked himself on his forearm with that.

Blood flew out instantaneously and a little wound can be seen there. He then did a quick investigation and after that he ran towards it.

After entering the cave he saw stalactites were glowing there, whole scenery was beautiful, after running around for a few seconds he reached towards a river which was giving a mild sensation to the heart and at the end of the river he saw moon orchids and within them he knew was his hope to immortality. He put down the baby after that he started to walk towards it.

He was very nervous at this time, as his whole life was depending on whether he could even be able to walk on it or not. As for his mind he was focusing on only one thing and that was the worse outcome, but in his heart their was a firm believe that he will able to do this.

He started to walk and to his amazement there was a slight pressure on him just when he put his foot on the grass.

He then resumed his walking,

One step,

Two step,

Five step,

Ten step,

Seventeen step,

Twenty step,

Twenty-seven step, "hahahahaa! Iam atleast on fang yuan's level now but I can go further" thinking so he continued walking.

Thirty step, and as he was taking his another step their was a slight premonition in his heart that was saying that the next step will be his last.

But he takes it backward, now he knew that his talent is C-peak grade, roughly around 50%-52% but he don't want to resign yet. Thinking so, all his hard work for the past ten years float inside his mind, household chores, planning, parent's death, his training, his planning, all the risk he had taken to reach here and after thinking that there was one another idea that was taking place inside his mind and that was about the 'little extent to which he could defy fate'.

Sweat was coming down from his head, his right hand was bleeding and mixing with his sweat, the river's sound and baby crying could be heard at this time. But his mind was focused he couldn't hear them, his heart was beating at an alarming rate, the pressure on his body due to standing in between the hope gu was increasing, his consciousness, soul and blood was not ready to resign to fate and then he let loose it all.

He took two steps backwords and the pressure decreased to some extent then he took two hurried steps forward and JUMPED,

BOOOM! there was a sound echoing in his ears, his nose started to bleed, his eyes were getting heavy, his mind was going blank and before collapsing there was a slight smirk on his face like he was mocking gods.

Plop, with a soft sound he collapsed in the middle of the sea of flowers. But he was happy as he knew, with this jump he turned his fate upside down.
