Hatred, Heaven’s will and Freedom

It was the night of great despair for the feathermen. Their ancestral immortal home, Sacred Feather City, was being bombarded by countless mortal killer moves with some immortal killer moves mixed in. Their peaceful lives for countless generations in the fragment world of Green Heaven had been their bane, for they were very ill-prepared and the tides seem to be rolling against their favor.

This siege, made by White Sea Shatuo and his followers, seemed to be the end of their free lives. Having reached this point, the Gu Immortal elders of the clan, decided to use their trump card, immortal killer move 'Heavenly Wish'. All the feathermen in the clan gathered around and wished for their survival, freedom and a place to live in the world. Their collective wish was granted but they just couldn't seem to catch a break. Like a fish from a frying pan into the fire, they teleported from a siege to an earthly calamity in a Gu Immortal's blessed land.

This Gu Immortal was Tai Bai Yun Sheng, a newly ascended Gu Immortal who was accompanied by an Immortal Zombie Fang Yuan. Initially, the featherman Gu Immortals wanted to forcefully capture this blessed land but after witnessing the strength of Fang Yuan, they were forced to agree to a bet with their freedom on the line. The simple minded feathermen were no match for Fang Yuan's cunning and schemes. Eventually they were defeated and their most powerful featherman Gu Immortal had become Fang Yuan's slave. Upon further learning Fang Yuan's plans to starve the entire feathermen clan to gradually enslave them, the featherman Gu Immortal resolved his heart to kill himself. With a smile on his face, "It was truly a shame that I could not protect you all. However, I am a featherman. I will not become a slave." His death sparked a fire in the hearts of the feathermen.

"As long as our hearts beat for freedom, there will not be any slave feathermen." They had no hope of beating Fang Yuan. So, one after the other, they killed themselves. Fang Yuan mourned but only at the loss of wealth. He had plans to enslave these feathermen and use them in Western desert. As they were dying, deep in their hearts, they had two feelings. It disappeared from one dying featherman's heart and appeared in another, gaining in strength. As the last featherman died, it escaped from the blessed land to find another heart.

The fate grand war was about to end. In the massive war to stop the repair of fate Gu, Gu Immortals from all regions had fought against Heavenly Court Gu Immortals. The losses were catastrophic. Several Venerables had carefully crafted plans and counter plans and counter-counter plans leading up to this point. Heavenly Court Venerables wanted a world dominated forever by the human race. Giant Sun Immortal Venerable wanted a world of debauchery. Spectral Soul Demon Venerable wanted a world of slaughter. Limitless Demon Venerable only cared about the pursuit of truth, Reckless Savage Demon Venerable wanted to show off his strength and Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable just wanted to go home. Everyone had their own selfish plans and desires while they didn't hesitate to let others suffer for it.

If any, there was only one Venerable that didn't have such selfish desires. He wanted a world that was joyful to everyone. He was Paradise Earth Immortal Venerable. Paradise saw the potential of Fang Yuan. If he were to guide Fang Yuan into becoming an Immortal Venerable instead of a Demon Venerable, that would benefit the world. So he made an ally out of Fang Yuan in his resurrection Plan. After the fate grand war, he provided Fang Yuan with knowledge and resources to keep himself safe.

Inside the Crazed Demon Cave, the Venerables were fighting to resurrect themselves as Venerables of the Grand Era. Paradise himself was supposed to be resurrected as a Heaven Path Venerable and Fang Yuan was supposed to help him fend off against the other resurrected Venerables but Paradise was too naive. He underestimated the greed and ruthlessness of Fang Yuan. As soon as Fang Yuan felt that Paradise could no longer bring him benefits, he plunged his hands through Paradise's back and killed him. Paradise's grief could clearly be seen in his last moments.

Paradise Earth Immortal Venerable, who only had the well being of everyone in his mind, was stabbed in the back. In the depths of his heart, without anyone noticing, Hatred Gu appeared. All his life, he tried his best to remove the suffering of commoners and to rectify the harm caused by Spectral Soul Demon Venerable. But has he now guided and created another Demon Venerable? With his last breath, using his Heaven Path attainment, he asked a question to Heaven's will, "Who can grant freedom from suffering in this world?" Hatred Gu sneaked in a question of it's own, "Who can face Fang Yuan and bring him to his knees?"

Freedom Gu heeded the question and chose to respond. No longer bound by the restrictions of fate, it flapped its tiny wings and created a ripple. It's effect was felt in another world.
