Mother's warmth

Her words showed that she is not only accepting her into the family but also is giving the responsibilities of the manor into Jiang Xiurong's hands. Hence she should also accept them without trying to distance herself from them.

Jiang Xiurong understood the meaning of her hidden words and nodded her head as she said, "I understand mother. I will do everything that I think is good for this manor."

Their Mother understood that Jiang Xiurong understood her meaning and smiled warmly at her, "Good girl."

They spent the day with each other and even had their lunch together. Mother Wang wanted to leave and give the privacy for the newly wed couple but both Wang Deming and Jiang Xiurong forced her to stay for a while longer and thus she reluctantly became the 'third wheel' between them.

But once they had lunch, she told them sternly that she is not going to stay any longer no matter what they say and thus both of them too decided to stop persuading her anymore.

While leaving, Mother Wang turned around and warned Wang Deming, "Deming, take good care of daughter in law. You should help her in making her comfortable in her new home. Except you, no one else can take that job. Do you understand?"

Wang Deming looked at Jiang Xiurong who stood beside him and smiled and then turned towards his mother to nod his head obediently, "I know Mother. Don't worry. Your son is a capable man to take good care of his wife."

Mother Wang was satisfied by her son's words and softly patted the back of his hands. She then proceeded to take Jiang Xiurong's hands into hers and spoke softly, "Daughter in law, I know you would feel everything as a new world in the next few days. Once you overcome this period, you feel this place as more comfortable than your maternal home. Still, if you feel anything uncomfortable, just inform Deming. And if he does anything to you, you can come and inform me immediately. I will stand by your side and punish him. You understand?"

Jiang Xiurong instantly felt warm as she nodded her head frantically. She had moisture pooling up in her eyes but she tried her best to not show that on the surface.

She is her mother in law but she is treating her like her own daughter and even was supporting her even if it was against her own son. Even if it was just a verbal statement and anything may happen in the future, she still felt warm.

Even if in the future Wang Deming had really done something and his mother may support him and not her, for this moment she can't help but feel happy and sense the motherly love from her.

Mother Wang patted the back of her hands just like she did with Wang Deming and gave a look to her son and turned around to leave.

Wang Deming had received the look his mother shot him and took Jiang Xiurong into his arms as soon as his mother was out of their sight.

They both observed that her mood changed just now. So the mother instructed her son to take care of his wife and that is what he was doing; Following his mother's orders like a filial son that he is.

Jiang Xiurong stiffened at the sudden warmth that surrounded her but slowly she sank into it and felt warmer than before.

In the new warmth that enveloped her, she felt the embrace of her mother when she was younger. She remembered how she would hug her whenever she would hurt herself or cry.

She still remembers her words when she said, "Xiurong, it is okay to cry. But don't cry when you are alone. Or your mother will feel more pain. If ever you want to cry, you can just come to me and cry in my arms. I will always be there with my arms open for you. If ever you do not have me, then you will have someone in your life that would readily take you into their arms when they can't see you being so sad. You can always cry in their arms but never alone."

The little Xiurong did not understand what she meant by someone else that would be in their life that would come but she just cried in her mother's arms.
