2 Follower

Through the same darkness there stood another figure who followed the invader secretly. With every step the invader took, the follower took an equal length of step from behind without being noticed.

After reaching a certain distance away from the palace, the invader stood at a place and looked to his right. The follower who followed behind too stooped when he observed that the invader stopped in his place and followed the direction at which he looked with his eyes to find nothing there.

Being confused, the follower turned his head back towards the follower but as soon as his head was turned, his neck touched a cold surface. A sharp object was placed against his neck as he stopped his breathing to avoid accidentally touching the object that was held from his back.

He was impressed by the talent of the invader as he did not feel the movement of him when he actually moved behind him and also took his sword out of its sheath and placed it against his neck. All these movements occurred within a mere second at which he just looked at a direction and without any sound that could easily be discovered.

Though the follower was already impressed when he found the invader moving around the palace freely without any constraints or concerns of being caught while not being noticed by anyone, his impression improved at his newly observed talent.

There is a smile on his lips that could not be seen due to the darkness that clouded the entire area while he still managed to find a little more shadow to himself using the surrounding houses so he couldn't be seen even under the moonlight.

'This invader is really interesting.'

He had never seen an assassin as strong as this person before. Only the high leveled generals could possess this talent or the strength. But he is also sure that the generals in their country would never betray their emperor and the generals of this caliber from their enemy countries would never disguise themselves as assassins as he knew how prideful all of them were.

Hence he is sure that the person who tried to assassinate the Emperor was not any general but he sure is a person who had the talent and strengths that are almost equal to a high level general.

A strong person whose name is never heard of. If this is not interesting, then what is?

Within a few other seconds, the follower took out his small dagger and turned his body around without being touched by the sword and placed his own little dagger against the long sword.

The invader's eyes widened at the sudden turn of events and he immediately took a step back with wariness at the new person who just found him out of nowhere. He was shocked that there was actually a person who could spot him and follow him until here but still he caught him off guard earlier and had an apparent advantage in the situation.

But now, within another second, the follower not only freed himself from her disadvantageous position but also took a dagger and pointed it at his sword.

As he took a step back, he also took back his sword from its previous position but again attacked the follower with it. The follower then skillfully used just his little dagger to block all his attacks but never tried to attack him back.

This made the invader feel humiliated and being looked down upon that he is not even worthy of being attacked while he is simply blocking all his attacks very easily with just such a small dagger. This made him infuriated as he started attacking more aggressively than before. The movements of both started getting so fast that they may not even be visible to any normal naked eye anymore.

Suddenly, the follower who did not attack until now decided to attack but his target was never to attack the invader as he clearly targeted the mask on his face. He surely wanted to reveal and see the face of such a brave and aggressive warrior who could fight with an almost equal footing with himself.

Though the invader tried his best to stop him from removing the mask, he was unsuccessful in the end as his mask was torn in half with the help of the same little dagger with which he was fighting for so long.

As soon as the mask was removed, the follower was surprised at the revealed beauty of the person. Until now he thought that the assassin would be a male but when he discovered that it was not a male but a beautiful girl, he stood in his place frozen as he was mesmerized by the beauty in front of him.
