7 #6- Trouble!

Black Jade stifled a scream as a dagger pressed against the side of his neck, where his major arteries were situated.

"...Black Jade?"Jin Ning frowned, as she hastily retracted her dagger, and released her grip on the shaking boy.

Guilt penetrated her heart as Black Jade looked up at her aggrievedly with his watery, huge eyes.

"Aiya, why did you creep up on me like that? You scared me,"Jin Ning explained, as Black Jade pouts, before tugging on her robes softly.

"Master, you must quickly get to cultivating!"Black Jade advises her anxiously. The Lord had many enemies, and they often chose to target the Lady in the past, who was much more vulnerable. Hence, she needed to be strong! So strong that nobody could pull her down in this life again...

Jin Ning chuckles, and rubs his head.

"Yes, yes. I will become so strong that I can match your power, is that fine?"She smiles lightly, as Black Jade blushed slightly and nods.

Oh damn, if he knew that she was their beloved Lady, he would never dare to be so bold to her! He would definitely be smacked by all his spirit beast friends when he gets back!

He could already imagine his swollen butt...

"Hey, how about going out for a walk?"Jin Ning suggested out of the blue, and Black Jade nods, transforming back into a jade penchant.

"Yes Master! Whatever you say, Master!"

Jin Ning laughs melodiously, wondering what had happened to him, for him to undergo changes, from being an arrogant and willful jade, to becoming an adorable and obedient little lamb.

She slips him into her robes, and informs her parents before leaving the house. Of course, she could only leave after she had repeatedly assured them that she would not be angered by the Prince, and would stay safe.

"How about we send a bodyguard to protect you?"Mother Xu asks anxiously.

"No, just bring me! I will kill those who bully you!"Father Xu frowns.

Her lips twitched...

"It's really alright! I can protect myself,"She tells them for the umpteenth time, and they both looked at each other with resignation and reluctantly nods.

"At least bring a maid with you!"Mother Jin says, as she beckoned for Shu Lian. She runs towards Jin Ning and grins.

"Let's go, my Lady!"Shu Lian smiles widely.

Shu Lian was so happy. It had been a long time since she gone out with her Lady, and she really missed the experience!

Mother Jin then walks towards Jin Ning, and stuffs money into her robes. "Here,"She says, as she placed 10 gold taels into Jin Ning's robes. "Buy whatever you want, my darling. If you need more, tell Mother."

Jin Ning was surprised.

A gold tael was equivalent to a thousand silver taels, and a silver tael was equivalent to a thousand copper coins.

A hundred copper coins was sufficient to purchase a simple, one room cottage. That alone proved the wealth of the Lotus Manor. Too rich, too brazen!

That much money just for a simple trip...

How many people would desire to be born into such unimaginable riches?

Jin Ning shakes her head.

"Mother, no. That's too much money-"

Mother Jin smiles dotingly, as she lightly pushes Ji Ning towards the exit. "Shu Lian, protect your Lady well!"

Shu Lian nods, as she smiles at Jin Ning. "Lady, let's go!"She giggles, as she guides the stunned Jin Ning to the bustling street.

She then brings Jin Ning to almost every stall, bargaining with the vendors and forcing Jin Ning to try out many things.

"My Lady, try this lily hairpin!"

"My Lady, try this blue cloud robe! It would look good on you!"

"My Lady, please try this lotus cake! It's creamy and delicious!"

"My Lady..."

Jin Ning wanted to burst into tears. She was full, and was exhausted from trying out so many accessories and clothes. However, Shu Lian seemed to still be energetic, despite carrying bags after bags of items, and still walking enthusiastically towards a store selling hawthorn candy.

"My Lady, this candy-"

A annoying, shrill laughter of a woman burst out of a sudden, interrupting Shu Lian's excited chatter.

"Huh! Isn't this the useless and ugly Young Lady Jin?"
