12 Chapter 12

A knock on the door had Arthur' stand up from his bed to open the door, standing outside were Jared and his grandfather. "Grandfather, Jared," Arthur' greeted his grandfather and Jared with a surprised expression on his face.

Christian slightly smiled as he walked inside Arthur's bedroom with Jared following behind.

On his hand Christian was carrying a black card, and a gold plated cell phone, with an S symbol on it.

"Morning grandson." Christian greeted once he sat down. Arthur' remained standing in his pajamas, Jared stood next to Christian.

"Morning," Arthur' greeted back.

Meanwhile at the Roths' Villa.

Since Arthur left Victoria had to hire a maid to take care of the house and cook food, she also had to hire a butler to take the kids to school. When arthur' was there she never dared to hire a maid or a butler, in fact she fired the maids and the butler's just so she could make Arthur do the work.

Breakfast felt unlively today, as there was no Arthur to mock, it was one of the most boring breakfast in their lives, for everyone on the Villa, except for Gwendolyn, who was enjoying the little peace and quiet at the dining table.

"Mom, this food sucks." Charlie, Damian's little son, complained, aggressively throwing the spoon back on the plate, "Why can't he just cook for us?" Charlie continued complaining, while glaring at his mom, Naomi. But his mom shot him a look so he'll keep quiet, even so he didn't stop complaining about how bad the food was, and he didn't want to eat.

Gwendolyn shot little Charlie a cold stare, making the little boy shiver in fear and he quit his whining.

"Yeah, I liked it better when that useless guy cooked, it tasted better than this." Hailey said bluntly without taking her eyes off her plate.

Mrs Gwendolyn slapped the table to stop the noise at the dining table, her eyes were bloodshot because of rage. "Enough, no one is going to talk about that useless piece of junk anymore, from now on his name should never be mentioned you hear me!" Gwendolyn warned coldly, glaring back and forth at everyone on the dining table.

Everyone nodded in compliance, even the little ones, Charlie and Benjamin, they all quietly got back to eating. Even though the food was not that bad, it still couldn't compare to what Arthur cooked for the whole family. Even though he'd barely taste his own food, since he was not allowed to eat sometimes.

"Get Stacey down here, breakfast is family time, it's bad manner's for her to stay on her bedroom during breakfast time." Gwendolyn said, glaring at her daughter in-law, Victoria.

"She won't open the door for anyone let alone listen to them." Victoria replied nonchalantly, putting a spoon on her mouth without sparing Gwendolyn a look.

Gwendolyn sternly glared at Victoria and then slowly shifted her gaze to Lawrence sitting next to Victoria, she pointed her fork at the two of them as she asked: "Tell me Between the two of you, who should I blame for your child's poor upbringing? ….cause It's your job as her parents to control your daughter!" She slammed the table again.

Looking puzzled both Lawrence and Victoria looked at her.

"Mother in law what do you mean? We have raised Hailey and Damian in the best possible way, just look at them! As for Stacey you didn't give me a chance to raise Stacey in a good way, she spent too much time with you, I her mother, barely got to see her!" Victoria replied In an almost whiny voice.

Lawrence could only nod his head to his wifes statement.

Sighing exasperatedly, Gwendolyn scoffed at Victoria's statement. "Well I raised her well, I raised her to be obedient and wise, it's because she's like you, her mother, that's why she's so hard to control." Gwendolyn sneered.

Harold could only nod his head to whatever his wife said, even though he knew his wife Gwendolyn, didn't raise Stacey well. She spoiled her granddaughter so much, she raised her granddaughter to be arrogant and taught her to do anything to get what she wants. Following the words her grandmother told her, Stacey used blackmail to make Arthur marry her, little did she know that her grandmother would not be proud of that, 'cause Arthur was poor.

At the same time Caine walked inside the dining room, he was wearing a black suit, carrying a bouquet on his hands. "Morning family."

"Caine welcome dear, what brings you here?" Gwendolyn greeted, her mood lighting up at the sight of this rich son in-law.

"I'm here to pick Stacey up," Caine said taking a seat on the chair next to Victoria.

"Is that so? I heard Mr Stark is hosting a party to welcome his grandson today…are you taking Stacey to the party as your plus one?" Hailey asked, feeling a bit jealous of her sister. She would have loved to meet Mr Stark's handsome grandson, she heard he was young and extremely handsome.

"Ummm…yeah?" Caine nodded hesitantly, knowing damn well he was not invited to the party, infact none of his family members got invited.

'Wow, my sister really is lucky, she seems to get, the best things.' Hailey thought to herself, a frown on her face.

"Where is Stacey anyways?" Caine asked. Even though he already knew the answer to that.

"She's in her bedroom, Victoria will get her." Gwendolyn replied, giving Victoria a look, "Well go get your daughter," Gwendolyn urged.

Frowning, Victoria hesitantly stood up. "Mom you know she won't come out." Victoria complained.

Harold hit the table angrily, his eyes bloodshot. "Get her down here! Control your daughter, if you don't get her down here who do you think will!?" Harold shouted.

At this point he was worried about Stacey, she's been in her bedroom for 18 hours straight.

A knock on the door got Arthur's attention as he was having a dilemma on what to wear for the party that was happening downstairs.

"Come in!" Arthur said, staring at the door waiting for whoever was knocking to enter.

The door opened instantly and a beautiful girl elegantly walked in, the girl looked like she was 20 something years old, the girl looked gorgeous in her skin tight white dress that just hugged her nice curvy body. She had a perfect smile on her face as she walked in.

"Wow you're really back," The girl said excitedly, taking a few steps further inside the bedroom. "I thought uncle Jared was lying when he said you're coming back."

Arthur smiled back as he replied, "Well I'm back."

They two old friends hugged for about five seconds.

"Wow, it's been so long!" Arthur said finally letting go of her.

"Too long, it's been five years, 6 months and 18 days." Loraine said, pulling her dark silk hair back.

"Well you still look good…you look beautiful!" Arthur said a hint of nervousness in his tone.

Loraine blushed as her brown eyes locked with Arthur's eyes, "I thought you said, I always did?" Loraine replied, looking around the room as if she was looking for someone. Her smile faded as she asked, "So where is she?"

Looking puzzled, Arthur looked at her and asked, "Who?"

"You wife…I heard you're married now." Loraine replied, maintaining a faint smile.

Arthur shrugged his shoulders and went back to picking out his clothes. "She is…. I don't know, at her home? Maybe she's at her boyfriend's home? I don't know!" Arthur replied agitatedly, a hint of pain and annoyance in his voice.

"What happened? Did something happen between the two of you?" Loraine asked in a concerned voice.

"We're getting divorced." Arthur replied casually.

"You said to her boyfriend's house, did she…." Loraine stopped her sentence midway as Arthur glared at her.

"I don't want to talk about it right now," Arthur said, giving a faint smile, while taking out a shirt from his closet. "So what do you think of this one, should I wear it?" Arthur playfully asked.

"Arthur you're not ready!" A female voice said almost in shock, gathering Arthur and Loraine's attention.
