Amelie left the room and I asked Karl to be straight and forward on what he wanted because I needed to sleep at that very moment.

" I don't think you're being polite.. I just came in but it's very obvious that you wanted me to leave." Karl said.

"I'm just being honest. I need some rest so let's not waste time. Why do you wished to see me? " I answered.

" I couldn't help but wonder why that naive boy Jose Manuel haven't noticed that his mother is missing.. Did he know that you were the last person she saw before she disappeared?" He asked.

My stomach was turning upside and down.. I tried to act like I knew nothing about what he was saying.. I turned my back on him and pretended to look for the teapot to pour myself a warm cup of tea so he couldn't see my shocked expression.

" I don't know what you're talking about.." I calmly said.

" Yes you know.. I followed you when she was harassing you in the chapel.. Then both of you went here in your room.. And I never saw her again since then." He continued.

" I said I don't know what you're talking about.. You can go now.." I said.

" Very well, I will just talk to the Captain and to her son to tell them that I saw the old Countess entered your room but I never saw her again after that..I'm sure they will search for her.. " He explained before he headed to the door..

What is happening? Did he really saw the Countess entering my room or he was just playing with me and waiting for me to slip?
