35 Gossip girls

People were gathered outside their rooms looking down at the small boat with a dead body on it. Slowly, it was lifted with the help of the crews and rescuers.

Somehow, the dead body's long dress got caught in one of the loose corners of the ship's propellers and was dragged all night.

The captain of the ship arrived at the scene and immediately asked if anyone was missing..

" My colleague didn't return to our room last night!" A woman shouted from below.

The officers went down and interviewed the woman. My heart was pounding.. I didn't do the job well.. I messed up.. I wanted to slap my face for not making sure to see if the body was submerged under water because I left immediately after Amelie and I threw the body off the ship..

I was careless and it came back to bite me.

Out of nowhere, someone touched my shoulder..

" I don't think you should be here witnessing something so unfortunate." Said Jose Manuel as he urged me to go back inside.

" How distressing.. Poor young lady.." He continued. My servant told me that he saw that girl yesterday here in the first class section. He added.

My ears went numb..

Me: Here? Does that mean she had first class ticket?

Jose Manuel: I'm not sure about that.. But my servant told me that the girl was asking him about you. I guess she saw us with my mother the three of us were eating together..

Me: Why would she asked about me?

Jose Manuel: She was thinking that you are a Russian like her..

I pretended to laugh.. Jose Manuel laughed as well..

" Weird girl isn't she?" I said.

" Indeed!" He replied as we both entered the breakfast hall and sat on a table.

I heard the ladies beside us talking about the dead girl.. I listened carefully as gossips and rumours spread like wildfire..

" I asked my maid to go down on the second class area to listen to the investigation, she heard one person said that the dead girl is the daughter of the Russian Mystic called Rasputin.." A lady said.

" Ohh.. the healer who was having an affair with the Russian Empress? Aren't they both dead?" Another lady asked..

" Do you think Rasputin had sexual desires for those 3 Grandduchesses? They said that the Tsarina allowed that mad monk inside her daughters bedrooms" Another lady said..

I felt dizzy.. I wanted to faint when I heard their conversations but I tried to pull myself together.. I asked Jose Manuel to get me a cup of hot cocoa as I excused myself and went to the direction of those gossiping ladies..
