16 Shared Past

Rosettes crimson eyes widened in disbelief and she almost choked on his love filled words. He had remembered! He truly remembered their last life together!

Tears began to trickle down her cheeks as she leapt across the room and embraced him wholeheartedly.

Gage was not shocked by her reaction. Instead he simply smiled and patted her back in effort to comfort her. Sadly this only succeeded in making her cry harder.

He had been waiting for her! How horrible was she to forget him!?

Sensing her guilt, Gage hugged her tighter and consoled her kindly.

"Its not your fault angel. I know what you've been through. Besides a minor couldnt get me out of here."

Holding back a sob, Rosette pulled away and sat up straight while wiping away her tears. " Pack your bags, we are leaving this place right now."

Standing up Gage nodded his head obediently and left the room. Not long after Ms. mary entered the room with a glare.

" Ms. monroe please do not give false hopes to our patients and leave."

Still sitting on the faded black loveseat Rosette lifted her face that showed little expression.

" I didnt lie. Gage will be coming home with me today."

" And why would you think that?"

Pulling out a check from her purse Rosette smiled slyly as she placed it in Ms. Mary's hand.

Irritated the old woman nearly threw it to the floor when her eyes caught a glimpse of the numbers elegantly written across the line.

Gasping she almost fell to the floor.

Who in their right mind would pay so much for some nutcase!? He was due to leave a year ago but his family paid to keep him here but

like most humans greed easily conquered her heart.

Gage had no clothes to wear outside except for the plain grey sweats that the hospital gave him but he still looked amazing as he stepped out the cold metal doors.

His joy was palpable making Rosette's heart swell with happiness. Today was really a great one.
