megan frowned subconsciously as she watched kai help his sister stand. "maybe she should go to the nurse or hospital." megan said feigning concern. not listening, kai didn't reply too busy surveying rosettes face. though she had gotten better recently he couldn't help but remember the drs words after their father's and her mothers death. "under no circumstances should she be allowed to become stressed. her weak heart simply can not take it." this was the whole reason he and Rowan watched over her so much. like a fragile porcelain doll they slowly turned her into someone locked inside their home.

carrying her inside the nurses office kai felt odd as he gently laid her onto the bed. to others he looked dangerously wild but to her he was gentle as a saint. looking about the room, he realized they were alone." rosebud are you ok? should I call your doctor?" he asked tenderly brushing her bangs from her eyes.

" I'm alright, I must have just got too hot too suddenly. I'm such a wimp" rosette laughed weakly.

" then why did you look so frightened?" kai really wanted to know why. she looked like she did when lightning startled her at night.

" I..i cant tell you why. but i need you to promise me something" rosette whispered holding his warm hand tightly in hers.

"what? what is it?" he felt like something was very off. what was he missing?

"promise me you wont talk to that girl you were with ever again.."

the words she spoke didn't answer his question but raised a thousand more instead. was she jealous?could she feel the way he does? should he risk it and ask? he honestly didn't know what to say only able to stare at her trying to guess the girls thoughts.

" what if I said no?" his curt words hit her like a slap. so soon?! he already loved that malicious woman? was it love at first sight?she didn't know what to do.

"please! I will do anything" rosette pleaded tightening her soft fingers on his hand.

silence filled the room suffocating her as she awaited his answer. to her suprise when he finally spoke the words he uttered were life changing " I promise but you have to be my lover instead."

for a moment she truly thought she had heard wrong but she didn't dare to ask him to repeat it again. sucking in a cold breath she stared at her brother trying to understand what he was thinking. this is crazy. why was this happening? didn't he like megan? would she be willing to give up her body to him to save them all? without a doubt rosette knew the answer. yes. yes she would. even if it was taboo.

"okay" was all she whispered but kai's heart soared. he wasnt the only one. she loved him back! warmth spread through his chest and the guilt he carried was buried deep down. forgotten beneath happiness and lust.
