Birthday Party (1)

One week had passed without a new idea to turn up for Shao Chen's revenge plan even though he had used almost all of his free time to think about it. 

As proposed by Feng Meifeng, she would come every day to teach Shao Chen to read. She was very patient and always try to use the simplest word so that it could be easy for Shao Chen to remember. As a result, after one week, Shao Chen managed to memorize all of the characters that were written on the first three pages of the book which was pretty amazing if we considered Shao Chen's brain ability so far.

Today was The Former Emperor's birthday party. All people in the palace were invited including the harem's girls. So, their lesson was postponed to attend the party.

"Are you ready to go?" Feng Meifeng asked while opening the door to Shao Chen's pavilion.

Shao Chen was standing in front of the mirror, wearing a simple sky blue colored gown. His brown half-braided hair was tied with a dark-blue hair tie. The reflection revealed a pretty rounded face and natural makeup added the beauty.

Feng Meifeng could not stop admiring him.

'What a waste! She will be very popular if she could be a little bit cleverer! ' Feng Meifeng felt obligated to transform Shao Chen into a more educated person.

Feng Meifeng put some pretty hairpins on Shao Chen's hair. "Perfect!"

"Come on! We have to hurry. The other girls had started walking to the party venue." She grabbed Shao Chen's hand but Shao Chen refused to step forward.

"Did I really have to go?" Shao Chen hoped he could skip this party because first, he was lazy. Second, he preferred to re-memorize the character words he had learn from Feng Meifeng yesterday.

Feng Meifeng shook her head. "It will be very rude if we did not show up at the party! Besides, there will be a lot of delicious food which could only be consumed by the nobles. It was a rare opportunity for us to enjoy them!"

Shao Chen was not fully convinced. He had already realized how great the food of the rich people was but this could not become a great motivation for him.

Feng Meifeng did not give up and came up with a new strategy. "The guests are also very rich! Maybe you could get one or two that were willing to give you money."

Shao Chen's eyes lit up. "Come on! We could not arrive late!" He quickly grabbed Feng Meifeng's hand then trotted out of the pavilion.

'I'm sorry Shao Chen. No one in this world will give you money without a good reason….' Feng Meifeng felt guilty for lying to him but if she did not do it like this, Shao Chen would never agree to attend the party.

After walking for almost thirty minutes, they finally arrived at the party venue. It was a big luxurious building with a very vast outdoor field. A lot of people had arrived there and of course, almost all of them were nobles or rich merchants that had a special connection with the palace.

Shao Chen's eyes sparkled wildly while screening all of his targets. His brain started calculating the total profit he would get, which made him became more and more excited.

Feng Meifeng could not help but shook her head. Feeling Shao Chen would jump to one of the nobles any time and made some commotions, she pushed Shao Chen to enter the building.

"Wait! I want to ask for money from that man!" Shao Chen almost approached the man he targetted if Feng Meifeng did not block his way immediately.

"It's not appropriate to ask people you did not know for money! Didn't you feel ashamed?!"

"Is that embarrassing?" Remember! Shao Chen did not know anything about mannerism.

Feng Meifeng almost had blood tears. She reminded herself to teach Shao Chen about good manners and propriety as well.

"Forget about it! We will have some food first!" Feng Meifeng forced Shao Chen to the long table full of food and started to pick some dishes for him.

Fortunately, Shao Chen did not insist to approach the man which was giving Feng Meifeng a big relief. However, Shao Chen stood in front of the long table with a deep frown.

"What's the matter? You did not like the one I picked for you?" Feng Meifeng asked.

"Will I have to pay for this?" Shao Chen shielded the money pouch which was hidden behind the pocket on his right hip.

Feng Meifeng did not know whether to laugh or cry. "Of course it's free!"

Hearing that, Shao Chen did not hesitate anymore. With a big smile, he grabbed the plate on Feng Meifeng's hand then fill it with more dishes.

"HIS MAJESTY EMPEROR HAD ARRIVED!"

"HIS SUPREME MAJESTY EMPEROR HAD ARRIVED!"

"HER HIGHNESS QUEEN MOTHER HAD ARRIVED!"1

All of them stopped their activities and immediately bowed. Only Shao Chen who was still busy focusing on his food did not realize the announcement.

Feng Meifeng wanted to stop him but the three figures of greatness had entered the building. 

"Shao Chen! Stopped!" Feng Meifeng tried to call him in a small voice but Shao Chen did not realize anything. To made matter worse, Shao Chen stood with his back to the three great figures so he would never notice them by himself.

Chen Liqin, who was looking around the room for Ming Yu, eventually stopped at Shao Chen. He glared at the figure who did not have any manner! It reminded him of that rude harem girl without realizing that the figure and that girl were the same people.

The former emperor, Chen Guang, and the former empress, Yan Mei also noticed the rude girl. They suddenly stopped in the middle of the building, glaring at Shao Chen who still did not realize anything.

'Oh my God! Shao Chen!'  Feng Meifeng almost cry.

Because of the three great figures' strange behavior, all of the people in the building began to follow their gaze to find the source of the problem. Eventually, thousands of gazes pierced through Shao Chen with various meanings, from astonishment, anger, to full of curiosity.

However, instead of realizing the oddity around him, Shao Chen even started eating the food. Feng Meifeng could only pray, wishing Shao Chen would accidentally turn around and noticing this awkward situation, but it was not granted. Shao Chen still casually chewing the food noisily.

Liang Hu was the first to notice Shao Chen's identity as the rude harem girl one week ago because Shao Chen had a big impression inside him. He approached Shao Chen, almost scolded him when a loud barking caught all of their attention.

"XIAO2 LI RAN AWAY FROM THE CAGE AGAIN!"
