44 Shocked

I was surprised when I went to look for Rune. He wasn't here and neither was Ren. I guess they had some business to take care of. While he was gone Fig and I decided to explore the castle and I wasn't disappointed. The place was huge but everywhere we went there was always a worker of some kind. Even the inside of the castle had shadow guards stationed throughout.

I walked by windows so large they looked like grand gateways into other worlds. The floors looked like they were made of marble and because they didn't have power like we do in the human world everything was illuminated by stones floating by the walls. Magic. I noticed that even the temperature was being controlled by magic.

There was so much that I needed to learn about this world and how it works so I decide to look for a library. If I needed to start somewhere then that should be a good place. "Why does it feel like we're walking in circles?" Fig asks as he jumps up on my shoulder. "Hmm.. I kind of feel like we are too.. Let me try something."

I noticed that in this fae world that your intent can have power as well so I push my will and magic out to find the library. Very quickly a light shimmery path lights up and quickly disappears around a corner. "Oh I think it worked!" Fig says excited. I smile and follow the path. Finally after a short walk I see the library but before I get to it Rune and his men walk past.

I go to call out to him but stop in shock. He's covered in blood... Was he hurt? "Umm.. Syn.. maybe we should come back another time. Rune looks more terrifying than normal which is actually impressive on some level.." Fig says in a small voice next to my ear. "Why do you always run off when Rune shows up?" I ask giving him a look.

His little paws grab my ear as he whispers loudly saying "Are you kidding me!? Syn, he's dangerous and powerful! Like snap Godzilla in half strong!! He's obviously claimed you as his woman and I'd be stupid to stick around when he clearly wants to be alone with you." Fig says with a shudder. "On second thought.. I'm out. I'll be with the fairies if you need me!"

Fig takes off running and I frown. It was dark out... the fairies will be sleeping! At least come up with a good excuse! I look back to the group and see Lilith walking with them and I frown. Wasn't she suppose to be gone? What happened? I was trying to decided if I should walk over or not when Rune suddenly stops and turns to look at me causing me to freeze.
