136 Irritation

I scoff at him and say "Whether I'm married or not has nothing to do with this. Now, last chance. Move your men or I will." Yin Zhelan watches me closely before saying "The Capital isn't safe for a woman to wander around with no protection. I'm opening my doors to you and offering to take care of you." 

I turn around and lift my hand, pushing the guards clean out of the door and straight into the room across from us with my magic. The guards crash into the table as the people in the room all pull out there blades. All but one man. 

He was sitting directly across the table with a blank look on his beautiful face but if you look closely, you'd see a slight frown. He was clearly unhappy. The men with the swords point their blades at the guards as another points one at me. 

My irritation and anger were now reaching its limit! What is wrong with these people!? I glare at this new man pointing his sharp blade straight at me and grit out "Get it out of my face..." My voice is low and full of my anger but the man ignores my words. 

The man in black, still sitting at the table frowns even more as Yin Zhelan quickly stands up behind me and says "It was all a misunderstanding! Please, the lady and I were just talking." I grind my teeth and use my magic to shatter the blade. 

The blade shatters and breaks into a million sparkling specks like glitter, instantly making all the men turn to me and point their blades at me! Mango crouches close to my neck, clearly noticing how angry I'm getting as I look at the men in disbelief. 

I scoff at them and say "Truly stupid and rude... Move out of my way or I will send you all into the underworld!" The one standing in front of me quickly throws the useless hilt of the blade and pulls out another blade but this time, there was fear in his eyes. 

Suddenly, the man in black sets his cup down on the table, making his men flinch. When he looks up, his dark eyes glare at me as he says "Kneel" Suddenly, everyone hits the floor as a strange, powerful force is felt moving around us. 

It was coming from the man in black... I would be lying if it didn't make me feel uncomfortable but the rune of protection on my lower back was currently heating up. Clearly protecting me from this man's power. Without the rune, I may have ended up on the floor just like the others around me!

The guards I threw earlier cough up blood and immediately pass out as Yin Zhelan falls to his knees with a strained look on his face. The man in black looks at me and narrows his eyes. I grit my teeth and say "I kneel to no one." before turning away to walk away but I only make it two steps before the man in black is in front of me and towering over me. 

I quickly come to a stop with surprise. It looks like the man can shift like we can... He looks down at me with cold, hard eyes but the slight tilt of his head tells me he's confused. I take a deep breath, trying to calm my anger as I look at this man and say "I didn't mean to throw the men into your room, I didn't realize they were so fragile. I miscalculated... The man in the room with me clearly has no problem 'treating' people to food so please allow him to pay your bill." 

The guards who had passed out from the pressure woke up and heard what she said, instantly causing them to spit out more blood and pass out yet again! They were "fragile!?" It's you who's monstrous! Yin Zhelan grits his teeth and gives out a bitter smile, this woman was definitely going to be a handful but he wouldn't back down.

The man in black narrows his eyes on me, looking into my eyes with suspicion as he softly asks "What are you?" His voice was surprisingly smooth and deep, pleasing to the ears but his cold eyes and the smell of blood coming from him and his men told me this man was dangerous.

The unfortunate thing is that I can shift, just like my father and brother but I couldn't go far like them. I was limited so I couldn't use it as an escape, especially in an unknown world! I don't want to get stuck in a wall! 

Yin Zhelan had managed to pick himself up and stumbles forward to say "She's from another continent. She's unfamiliar with our ways, please forgive her." Suddenly, my anger spikes again. As soon as I turn to say something, the man before me suddenly says "Shut up" 

Yin Zhelan suddenly coughs up blood and falls to the ground, officially out for the count. Surprised, I turn back to see the man in black still watching me. When he lifts his hand, I quickly take a step back. 

He narrows his eyes, like he's displeased with my actions but he quickly advances making my heart race. The rune on my lower back was getting hotter and hotter but when my back hits the wall, I'm trapped. 

Mango tries to growl at the man but all that comes out is a soft squeak. I nearly laugh, nearly. The man's dark eyes look like they've practically frosted over as he says "Don't move." I glare at him and say "I don't know you! Why are you trying to touch me!?" 

Instead of answering though, he gently touches my cheek. I glare up at him with fear and anger but it's also laced with confusion. The rune on my lower back was so hot, it almost felt like it was burning but when I see surprise flash in the man's dark eyes, I realize something else was happening here. 

Even though I don't know what it is... it can't be good! I take my chances and shift! I feel myself fall and realize that I just shifted to the outside of the restaurant. Since it was just a two-story building, I easily land in a crouch before quickly standing up and running away.

I haven't run this fast since the time I pranked Asher and turned his hair pink!!
