6 Commander Alec

Walking through the village Louie noticed that everyone he passed avoided him or gossiped to the people they were with. The looks he got conveyed that the people in the village does not have a good relationship with outsiders.

While he was walking he saw a person sitting up against a wall looking extremely sickly. The person was a old man with torn green clothes. He was muttering something as he looked up at the sky absent minded.

Louie's curiosity got the better than him as he walked up to the man. Noticing a person approaching him, the man sighed and took out a drink that stunk of highly concentrated alcohol.

After taking a sip the man stated.

"I'm not going to go back to the kingdom… you should just go back…"

Sighing Louie sat next to the old man and reassured him.

"Don't worry I'm not here to force you to do anything."

The mans face had an expression of surprise and asked.

"If your not from the city why are you here?",

"Well I was wondering the forest and stumbled across this village, and let me tell you… it's in a poor state."

The man took a swig of alcohol and nodded.

"Yeah, I was a commander in the army for the kingdom before I was discharged for disobeying an order. They then banished me here to this village to 'protect'."

Louie immediately understood what had happened, this made him sigh and have a somewhat long conversation. During so he found out the name of the man, Commander Alec.

He was discharged and banished because he disobeyed an order to go fight a battle which they was destined to lose. Accepting his fate he settled down with a woman in the village and had a daughter.

"Where is your daughter now Alec?"

This question made the old man smile as he replied.

"She's currently in her room cultivating, she's trying to become a Fourth Stage Martial Apprentice, she's almost have broken through her bottleneck"

This confused Louie as he asked,

"Why are you here drinking and destroying yourself?",

"My wife had died not too long ago… although my daughter took that as a thing to try harder I guess I started wasting my life away…"

Louie stood up and held out his hand. Looking at the hand Alec took it and got up. Getting confused Alec questioned what they were doing but he had gotten a simple reply.

"We are getting you in check before your daughter sees you in this state!"

Commander Alec was taken aback and sighed, he was still depressed from his loves passing but he had to push through it for his precious daughter. For the next hour Louie helped Alec and got him together.

After that Alex looked completely different, his torn clothes were changed to a nice cloth that suited him very well. His dirty grey hair was washed and turned to a nice white. Lastly his eyes went from dim and avoid of life to bright and determined.

As Louie and Alec were chatting and laughing they heard a door creek open revealing a woman around the same age as Louie.

She had short brown hair that came down to a little past her shoulders that was tied into a loose ponytail. Her eyes were deep powerful red that looked like an enraged inferno. Her skin was a bit tanned and had not one blemish on her skin.

Her breasts were decently sized but not fully grown compared to Miss Lin, but they were also attractive in their own way. She was no doubt a beauty now and would only look better in the future.

The woman walked out in somewhat revealing nightwear not knowing of the visitor in the house. Walking into the room she noticed the intense and quiet atmosphere. As she opened her eyes she saw a male and her father staring at her.

Alec cleared his throat and introduces the woman,

"Louie this is my daughter Myra, Myra this is Louie. He helped me in my hard times when you were in seclusion!"

Myra looked at Louie up and down and doesn't comment she just asks,

"Father? I have just broken through to Fourth Stage using the Qi ore you gave me, thank you"

Alec smiles as he got up and hugged her. They had a small farther daughter chat before Myra asked Louie something.

"What stage are you?"

Louie looked at her and smiled mysteriously "it's rude to ask personal things like that!"

She frowned as stated,

"Well I wouldn't if I could just sense you cultivation base but it's like you have none!… unless you don't cultivate"

Louie doesn't respond, on his way to the village he started using a technique that hides his cultivation base from anyone he wants to. This makes him look like a normal mortal in others eyes.

Not getting a response Myra clicks her tongue and goes to get something to eat. Louie's then gets up and stretches, he looks at Alec who asked him.

"She is really beautiful right? She took after her mother."

Louie subconsciously nodded and replied,

"Yeah… wait no I uhh…. This is now awkward"

Alec let out a hearty laugh and slaps Louies back reassuring him.

"It's fine lad! I'm not mad!"

Letting out a relived sigh Louie asks the old commander.

"Are you going to live here the rest of your lives? It would probably stunt Myra's cultivation if she's confined to this village, that is slowly rotting away"

The man took up a thoughtful expression as he then turns serious.

"I have a favour to ask Louie and I know this is sudden and unusual as we have just met today but can you take Myra with you on your travels?"

Stunned Louie was speechless.

"I want to be with my daughter but this old man would just get In the way, plus you don't seem like a bad person and you are not as simple as you look to be"

Louie then felt a shiver go down his spine, he just felt like Alec just peered through him like a book. Not carrying on with the conversation Commander Alec walked to his room.

"I'll give you till morning to decide, so choose swiftly Louie, she might be a bit hot headed but she's a lovely girl. You won't regret it!"

The door closed behind him. Louie sunk into the couch as thoughts flew through his head at lightning speeds. He didn't mind Myra going with him but it was just that he didn't know if she would accept leaving Alec behind who she had been with her whole life.

While eating Myra came through eating a thick slice of cooked wild boar meat. Noticing her father not preset she looks at Louie and intensely started at him. After a while of staring she sat down and asked.

"What did my dad ask you? I know he hasn't been talking to you for a while without asking something stupid…"

Louie sighed as he looked at Myra's eyes and explained,

"He wanted you to come with me so you could gain more experience so you could raise you cultivation base higher and make it sturdier."

She looked shocked at first but then just sighed. It wasn't the first time for her that he tried to do something to let her leave the him and the village behind.

Not saying anything else she went to her room to sleep. Being alone Louie looked around wondering if he should just sleep on the couch as they both didn't ask him to leave.

"What do I do?…"

After thinking for a bit he just laid on the couch and fell asleep.
