4 4. Meeting Tomas
So as they were going to the workshops, they found various groups of people. All with minerals and herbs in the middle as they were dividing their morning loot. But what got Mike's attention was a group that was quite loud as they were yelling one another.
Zack: 'What happened? Did you recognise someone?'
Mike: 'Yeah, remember I said I have a friend named Tomas?'
Zack: 'Yes, the one we said to meet after lunch.'
Mike: 'Yes, that one. I guess we will need to meet him before going in. I didn't know that the discussion he had with his group stated so earlier, I guess they shouted one another for quite a long time.'
Zack: 'So let's go and help him a little. He is your friend, no?'
Mike: 'Are you okay with it?'
Zack: 'If not, I would not have said anything. Me not having friends whatsoever, doesn't mean you don't. And he is important for you, is it not?'
Mike: 'I guess it's really important for me. Let's go.'
Zack: 'Yeah, let's go.'
Mike: 'Hey Tomas, I haven't seen you quite hot-headed in a long time!' As I put my hand in his shoulder.
Tomas: 'Hot-headed your head!' I was enraged while turning around, but as soon as I saw who the voice came from I was shocked and happily surprised to see Mike here. 'Mike! You are here too? What a surprise! Hey pal help me out here I'm about to lose my mind here. We accorded before that I will get the fruits as my share, but now they want to throw me some herbs we don't know anything about instead and only a third of it!'
Mike: 'Did you do a contract before going out?'
Tomas: 'A contract? No, were do we find pen and paper to do one anyway?'
Mike: 'You didn't look into Link did you?'
Tomas: 'Is it not like a futuristic phone?'
Mike: 'Yeah, but it has a lot more. Go to the Exchange, contacts & contracts'
Tomas: 'So these are the contracts you said?'
Mike: 'Yes, be more cautious with people you don't know. I will try to help you this time, but remember to be cautious next time and not trust people that easily.
'So who is the one cheating of my friend here of his money?' I shouted so they could hear me.
Lucas: 'Cheating what money, I'm exchanging the fruit for the plants that Sarah said wants!'
Mike: 'So you didn't do a contract so now you could do what you want when you divide the loot?'
Sarah: 'What contract? Do you think we still are in modern society? Hahaha'
Lucas: 'Yes, I'm stronger so I decide!'
Mike: 'So you didn't hear the voice when we arrived when it said to solve the problems with duels making a contract?
So choose between giving half the herbs and half the fruits to my friend or you sign a contract to duel me with the stake of all the herbs and fruits to the winner.'
Lucas: 'Why should I?'
Zack: 'Didn't you just say that because you are stronger you decide? So duel and you will know if you really are stronger.'
Sarah: 'And who are you anyway?'
Mike: 'My boyfriend, got a problem with that?'
Sarah: 'No, no, not a problem.' Said while shocked and he was not the only one since all of them quieted down.
Lucas: 'Okay, I accept the duel but with your boyfriend here, not you.' As he got a super idea to embarrass him without having to battle him.
Mike: 'Wow, now you are scared of me and want to involve him too.' In exaggerated matter.
Lucas: 'He got himself involved a while ago. Or what, you don't dare?'
Mike: 'Sure, it's the same!' It said that as Tomas was trying to stop him whispering him 'Are you sure he can win?' and smiled to reassure him and continued talking to Lucas saying 'As long as you state a contract with it I don't have a problem.'
Zack: 'Here is the contract, sign it and we can start.'
Lucas: He got surprised at how quick all was going, but even though he got flustered he read the contract which said:
"A duel until one is unable to continue fighting or one forfeits saying: 'I lost'. The duel will stop if someone is about to die deciding the winner at the moment. The winner gets the plants and fruit of the group loot, and the loser will not be able to get revenge on him and his friends as a consequence of this duel. "
He sure got surprised for not being any loopholes at all, and since it also mentions friends in the contract they have to sign as well and that means all the group and the meddlesome couple.
'You sure got sure to not leave any loopholes and got quite though'
Zack: 'Of course, I am not as naïve as Tomas here.' As I pointed to Tomas, Mike started laughing.
Tomas: 'What do you mean I'm naïve?'
Mike: 'You are, your parents protect you too much of the bad side of human nature.' Said in a counselling tone, while he shook his head and Tomas got his head down.
Zack: 'So are you signing or are you giving half of the plants and half of the fruits to Tomas?'
Lucas: 'So how is this a just duel when you have two swords and I only have a short knife?'
Zack: 'We can include to do the duel bare-handed.' As he modified the contract and send it to him again to include the combat being bare-handed.
Lucas: I got overwhelmed with his confidence so I decided to step back 'let's duel another day, we divide half herbs and half fruit from the loot'.
Mike: 'Then you have to sign this other contract: "Of all the resources we acquired as group half the herbs and half the fruit will go to Tomas, while the rest of the resources we will be divided with the rest of the group. And we will not retaliate to him for this distribution."
Lucas: I read the contract and again it was without any loopholes as having to sign all the members of the group we had gone out, but since there were not mention of the couple I would be able to retaliate with them another day so I decided to accept. 'Okay I will sign.'
Mike: 'You all also have to sign.' While pointing at the rest of the members of the group.
Sarah: 'Why should we?'
Mike: 'Because you are part of the group who acquired the resources.'
Lucas: 'Do it. We don't have all day and don't you see you are becoming the joke of all the crowd that have gathered around' and like this Sarah, Tomas and the other 3 signed.
As for the misfortune of Sarah and Lucas, the other three learned from this and forced them a contract too that would take a few large more minutes to acquire from them, but that was their problem.
As soon as the contract was finished Mike got all the materials in Tomas hands and pushed him out of the crowd with Zack and he didn't stop until we arrived in front of the Light tower and took out the 5 space gems he kept in his storage.
Mike: 'Put your hand in the Light tower and say that you want to use this space gems to acquire a storage space'
Tomas: As he was getting out of his own world he got stupid and said 'what gems? What space?'
Zack: 'The ones on Mike's hand and you only have to accept his present and say what he said.'
Mike: 'So quick.'
Tomas: 'Ok, ok. You are quite impatient. Use the gems to get a storage space' As soon as he said that the gems disappeared.
Mike: 'Now be quick and think of having all this herbs and fruits in the floor into your space storage inside your Link.'
Tomas: 'Ok, I finished. Anything else before I start doing the questions?'
Mike: 'Yes, put your hand again in the Light tower again and repeat what I say' I and Zack put our hands in the Light tower.
Mike & Zack: 'I want to complete all the resources material quests I have in my storage'

Tomas: As soon as I saw them say the same lines at the same time I almost laughed but I repeated what they said 'I want to complete all the resources material quests I have in my storage. So anything else?'

Mike: 'Go to the store inside the Light tower and buy a dagger, a water sack and a main weapon.'
Tomas: 'Okay, I'm buying a dagger and a water sack as after going out I know how necessary are, but what main weapon should I buy?'
Mike: 'I recommend you a spear, it can be used in water and inland. You should do better with the spear than the sword as it is a long weapon. If you have sufficient coins I recommend you the bow as you have already practiced archery, but the downside will be that you will need a lot of arrows. So you better start a carpenter job or a blacksmithing one.'
Tomas: 'Good idea. So a spear, a bow and arrows. I still have some money, anything else?'

Mike: 'Sure think, he is called Zack and is the illegitimate child of the Collins'.
'And Zack he is my childhood friend Tomas, his parents are also from the military as my dad.'
Zack: 'Hello' as I give my hand for a handshake.
Tomas: 'Hello' as he accepts his handshake. 'But really from the Collins? This is going to be big when you decide to speak it out. It's going to be fun when we return.' As he laughs his heard out.
Zack: 'Yeah, but I want to wait until I have 18 to not get into more trouble of what we will be getting. I don't want the Collins' to force me into something with the excuse of being a minor and them being my guardians.'
Tomas: 'That's a good idea, so when is your birthday?'
Zack: 'A day before the University entrance exams.' said with a big smile from his heart.
Mike: 'So I guess we will be waiting till after the exams.' said with a relieved smile as he knew he wouldn't have to wait much to meet him again after returning.
Tomas: 'Good thinking, as this will become quite huge. Better wait after the exams when he is already 18.'
Zack: 'So now we should include ourselves in the friend list inside Link so we can have an easier time communicating. Afterwards, you should go to get yourself a room.'
Mike: 'Yes, you better go before it starts getting occupied. Especially the single rooms, if you want a large single room you should start running now.'
Tomas: 'So in what floor are you?'
Mike: 'We are in the room farthest east in the fifth floor. The big single and double rooms are mixed from 5th to 10th floor. But if there are already occupied from floor 1 to 2 are small single rooms and there are more from floor 11 to 15.
The first two floors should be already occupied, so I suggest starting from the 5th floor until the 15th floor and keeping the first single room you find.'
Tomas: 'So where I find you afterwards?'
Mike: 'We will be in the workshops to cut and debone the beasts we killed and cook some lunch. When you get in front the workshops give me a call. And remember to keep the spear in your back at all times to be out of trouble.'
Tomas: 'Okay, so I will be getting a free dinner out of you, bye.'
Mike & Zack: 'Bye.' As they tried to hid and smile.
Mike: 'I guess we will have to convince him to do his own lunch by convincing him of the importance of having a chef job even if he doesn't want to cook ever again.'
Zack: 'I'm in. We have to make him suffer a little, but before we go, we should buy what we could not before as we didn't have too much money on hand'
