4 Chapter 4

Alice's POV

We were confused. What is the man talking about.

The man stoped laughing and realized we were serous. "What's your name?"

"I'm Alice and this is my twin brother Alex."

The man asked what happened to us so Alex answered "We opened a teleportation magic and before we knew it we were here. We also got separated from our friends."

"Well kid, I think you got teleported a little too far. There are no such thing as vampires here, they only exist in fairy tales."

We were surprised but we decided to tell him the whole story. I don't know why but I feel like I should trust this man. While they were talking I start to worry about Owen and Dana I was surprised to what Oliver suggested.

"Then how about I adopt you two."

I was dumbfounded because of this nincompoop suggestion.

"No. Sure, with the help of somebody who is from this world we will know all the things we need to do and we don't have to hunt animals to eat but that's all we can do with your help, besides you don't even get anything from us." Alex answered

"That's right but I am currently the Vicegerent of this kingdom [this means the official administrative deputy of a ruler] so if you become my kids you can do anything to find your friends and all you have to do is to have a good reputation."

"Why?" I asked.

"If you have a good reputation I will also have a good reputation as your father."

Alex said "You're surprisingly smart, you looked like you didn't know a thing before."

"Funny joke."

"That wasn't a joke."

Alex hesitated but ended up agreeing. Oliver led us to his mansion, it was as big as the vocation mansion in our island back in verbena. There were only 8 servants in the mansion. Oliver taught us the common knowledge of this world, it was easy to understand because the world where we came from was similar.
