It doesn't matter you are boy or girl does it ? According to me yes you thinking why it matters if you live in foreign country then it doesn't but in India it matters. Why does it matter in India because according to our society boy child will help you to

1- get out of poverty

2- will make you more rich

3- will be helpful to economic of family and maybe of country also

4- they will get drowny from marriage

5-will help you in old age

But they don't know that this all thing can be do by girl child also . You know why everyone want there first child to be boy because-

1- girl child will marry and they have to pay drowny

2- why to educate girl they will marry and go away waste of money [ no ]

3- why should a girl to make money? What will happen to our reputation in our society , why to take help from a girl don't think this way because if you educate your girl it will help to grow country economy, company economy and family economic and it will also set a example to other girls in society. This is situation of girl child in India and you asked why India is not like America or any European countries . I tell you one more incident my cousin have first child which was boy so , they stick the phone of that boy which was 1 day old in her room and written above photo boy child so , what we can do we can motivate parents to do something and let girl to do job .
