13 Debt Settlement Game IV

Forgive me for my lazy writing for this chapter. Just want to release two to show y'all this hasn't been dropped.

Now that I and Empero decided to change a lot of things, I have to deal with having to change the plot for convinence which we'll be doing a lot from now on.

of course we won't just be blindly adding them, so rest assured.

On to the chapter.

—Entering a reserved classroom, waiting for them was the secretary of the student classroom along with two other students. "We have been awaiting your arrival."

Mary eyes darted towards the two players, they didn't seem like much, the girl especially didn't look much, the boy to was the same, maybe Mary overthought about it, but she still didn't let her guard down.

However—

"—You are going to be our dealer?"

"Yes, as this group has the highest stakes of all… we cannot have anything go here. As the secretary of the student council. I will be a responsible dealer."

"Ugh!" Mary and Yumeko had a feeling it were more than that. "Yumeko, let's go." Yumeko nodded, as they both went towards the remaining two seat, putting their bord on display.

Jabami Yumeko - 310 million yen. Saotome Mary – 50 million yen.

Kageyama Shuya – 17 million yen. Tsubomi Nanami – 20 million yen.

That said, other students without tags could also join this game if they wished. However, if they lost, they would immediately fall into debt and be reduced to the status of a house pet.

Kinji could have joined if he wished, but he saw no merit in it. In the end, it was merely the money squeezed out of students in the first place being given back. He wasn't that petty.

Besides, this was a chance for those in debt to find redemption, and he wasn't going to rob them of that opportunity.

"If there's nothing else, let's begin the game" Sayaka Igarashi moved closer to the table as she dealt each player their chips. "Each player's chips have been dealt. Each cup is worth one tenth of the player's total debt."

"This value means nothing during the game, but the final win or loss will be decided by the chips total value."

'So, their debts are… 17 million and 20 million respectively, huh… So, each chip is 1.7 million and 2 million. It's a huge difference to our chips.' Mary thought as her gaze darted between those two, 'Even if they gathered all their chips, it'd be nothing to ours…'

"So, is everybody ready? Well then…"

"2-Card Indian Poker."

"The game begins now."

—Elsewhere. In the underground Beautification Committee interrogation room.

'I followed them to see what this is all about, but... what's this?' Kinji mused in his thoughts as he wiggled on the chair he was tied to, his hands bound behind his back and his eyes blindfolded with a black cloth.

"Just what do you want." Kinji sighed, as he felt a figure coming closer, "Oh, look at that, you're not surprised at all." Midari, the head of the beautification council came closer, leaning against Kinji, removing his blindfold.

"You know, amongst the trashes you injured, the son of a governor was among them. What was his name again? April? May? Ah, it doesn't matter." Midari ruffled her head in thought before fixing her gaze on him.

"Of course, there's a way to escape this situation." Midari's lips curled backwards as she whispered into Kinji's ears.

Indeed, in a situation like this, especially in Hyakkaou academy, there is one surefire way of escaping situations like this. "A gamble, huh?"

Kinji's mouth curled backwards as he uttered those words, leaning his back against the chair, even crossing his legs to show how calm he was.

"Was it the student council president? Has she finally decided to take advantage of the situation? Heh, if I had known, I would have done this earlier."

"Huh?" Midari's eyes widened at his oddly calm behavior, especially that smile. "Are you serious?" However, this only made her excited as her lips curled in a smile.

"In the end, you're the same too, huh?"

—Back to Yumeko and Mary's game.

"Has everybody confirmed the cards values? Well then, please place them back down onto the table. Now, please place bets beginning with host Kageyama-sama, please announce the number of chips you are betting as you place bets."

The boy named Kageyama silently stared at his chips for a moment in contemplation. "I'll call, one Kageyama chip." Kageyama raised his chip and placed it in the middle of the table.

"Call, Tsubomi one chip."

Mary seemed to be sending some kind of eye signal to Yumeko, however, Yumeko innocently ignored those signals, as she picked up a chip dropping it at the middle of the table.

"Call, Jabami one chip."

"Hah?" Hearing Yumeko's words, Mary immediately glared at Yumeko, who tried to defend herself. "Firstly, just folding from the start wouldn't be good for the game, plus the outcome still hasn't been decided."

'I've forgotten she's a freak like him too.' Mary fell silent for a moment before sighing. "I'll fold."

"End bets. Kageyama-sama, Tsubomi-sama, Jabami-sama, please reveal your cards."

Since Mary decided to fold, it was akin to her skipping that round.

And since Yumeko and Tsubomi bet against Kageyama, it was now a contest to see which of them had cards with the best compatibility.

"7 and 8 [Pig]," Yumeko held an eight of hearts with a seven of clubs. "3 and 6, [Pig]," Tsubomi revealed a six of diamonds and a three of spades.

"8 and 2, [Mark]," Kageyama was the last to reveal, showing a two and an eight of diamonds. His cards were a suite.

"Kageyama-sama has won this round, so please pass all your chips to Kageyama-sama," Sayaka Igarashi announced as Yumeko pouted, handing her chips over and avoiding Mary's stare.

"This will be the second hand. Tsubomi-sama will be the host," Sayaka declared as she dealt the cards across the table again.

Even though Kageyama was currently in the lead, he wasn't in a rush. In order to avoid plunging himself into more debt, he had already had enough dealing with Kiwatari Jun, a bully from his class.

It was thanks to him that he was in this debt.

However, it was sudden when their homeroom teacher announced he had been hospitalized. This was his chance to get out of his debt before the bully's return.

Thankfully, a girl from his class with the same situation as him was also here.

If both of them worked together, it would increase their chances of winning. Hence, both of them couldn't afford to make mistakes.

However, it was a pity he was going up against those two….
