Chapter 89: I Can't Stay

"I promise that I won't do anything bad, so please let me help you as your childhood friend," Beatrice said when she arrived the next day.

Slate wasn't looking at her suspiciously in particular but his eyes weren't friendly either.

Though it wasn't to the point that anyone would think they were in bad term, just that Amethyst couldn't help but feel as if they weren't childhood friends at all.

But Slate's response to Beatrice hug a few days ago in front of Scarlet's grave was enough proof for her to see that Slate does not hate Beatrice.

Slate sat down on the bed and Beatrice looked at Amethyst.

"Oh, I'll just wait outside then," Amethyst said before leaving.

"We'll begin now," Beatrice looked back at Slate and said to which he nodded in reply.

Thirty minutes later, Beatrice stepped out of the room.

"He's currently asleep," she said when Amethyst stood up.

Amethyst smiled and nodded her head, "Want some coffee?"
