Restart:48 hours

People often have dreams that closely match reality, where experiences in the dream seem to manifest in real life.

Some experts suggest that dreams are parallel worlds in the same dimension.

According to the theory of seven-dimensional space, you can see countless versions of yourself at the same time, with countless possibilities in the future.

However, this theory is too abstract and cannot be scientifically proven, and few people believe in it.

After graduating, Chou Ping planned to stay in Las Vegas, USA, for a few years to work before returning to China to start his own business.

Initially, he didn't believe in such theories, but strange events around him made him feel incredulous.

He realized that everything he had experienced in the past two days felt strangely familiar.

Yesterday morning, he stepped on dog poop as soon as he left the house.

On the way to work, he encountered traffic jams and was late.

His supervisor, who was as aggressive as a wild cat in heat, scolded him fiercely, almost asking him to pack up and leave.

In the evening after work, a colleague invited him to a bar for a couple of drinks.

Feeling impulsive, he decided to try his luck at the casino, only to lose all his savings he had painstakingly accumulated for half a year.

Today was supposed to be a pleasant weekend. An old friend, Mike, had already made plans for lunch, promising to introduce a beautiful girl to him.

Perhaps due to work troubles or the loss of money, Chou Ping had no interest in pursuing a girl and stood Mike up.

In his apartment, he slept until evening.

Hungry and with a growling stomach, Chou Ping discovered that there was nothing in the fridge except for a pack of ham sausages.

Fuck!

He had no choice but to go to an outside fast-food restaurant to satisfy his stomach.

Unexpectedly, while having a simple meal, he encountered a mentally disturbed person attempting robbery.

The assailant not only took the money but also forced everyone to keep eating hamburgers until the police arrived, creating chaos.

Now, feeling nauseous from eating too many hamburgers, Chou Ping finally returned home.

As he lay in bed, restless and half asleep, a mechanical and eerie voice echoed in his mind: "Time restarts, forty-eight hours, even in death, it will immediately restart!"

...

At nine in the morning, the dusty German antique cuckoo clock in the corner of the room suddenly made a noise.

The small wooden door on top opened automatically, and the cuckoo inside made a series of "cuckoo" sounds.

Waking up from his sleep, Chou Ping stretched lazily, rubbed his blurry eyes, and watched as everything around him slowly transformed from shadows to solid objects. His gaze finally fell on the clock.

"Oh, damn, it's nine o'clock!"

With a strange cry, Chou Ping jumped out of bed, rushed into the bathroom while buttoning his shirt.

Five minutes later, with a piece of bread in his mouth, Chou Ping, buttoning his shirt, hurried out of the apartment.

Just as he descended the stairs, he was about to step towards the CAT bus stop across the street when he suddenly stopped, as if electrocuted.

There was dog poop under the steps!

Lowering his head, his gaze swept over as expected, and there was indeed a brown lump on the roadside.

"Disgusting!"

Cursing, Chou Ping bypassed the dog poop and continued walking.

Wait a minute, there was a traffic accident today, and the bus would be delayed for sure.

Strange, why did he know all this? What's happening to him? Is this a dream? Why does it feel so real?

Swallowing the bread in his mouth, Chou Ping rubbed his face with both hands, took a deep breath, and silently said to himself, "No, don't overthink it."

On the bus, Chou Ping still felt uneasy, as if a voice in his head kept repeating: "There's a car accident ahead, there's a car accident ahead!"

The bus slowly stopped, and the driver said helplessly, "Sorry, there's been a traffic accident ahead, and the bus may be delayed. Please bear with us, passengers!"

"What? It's delayed! This is unbelievable!"

"Open the door, I want to get off, my company is just ahead!"

"Damn it, why haven't the police handled it yet? Such low efficiency, it's a waste of our taxpayer money!"

...

Listening to the chaotic discussions around him, Chou Ping felt thunderstruck, his expression blank. Yes, there was indeed a car accident!

Being late for work was inevitable, but at this moment, Chou Ping wasn't thinking about that. Instead, he felt a bit panicked and uneasy.

The supervisor's cold and harsh face seemed to have appeared in front of him, and her sharp voice, like a cat in heat, echoed in his ears.

As Chou Ping just settled into his seat at the company, before he could even catch his breath, the unmistakable Sarah, the female supervisor with fiery red curls, wearing a light yellow pleated dress and towering in high heels, and undoubtedly sporting an E-cup, entered the scene. Her chest trembled with each step she took.

"I don't care what your reasons are. Open your eyes wide and see what time it is now..."

The incessant scolding that should have made Chou Ping feel extremely embarrassed, and he might have even argued with this seemingly menstruating and particularly irritable manager.

But now, Chou Ping had no inclination to pay attention to her. His mind was in utter chaos.

After speaking for a long time, the parched Sarah threw a stack of documents on his desk and asked Chou Ping to organize them quickly before returning to her own office.

Chou Ping ignored the documents and instead picked up a pen, writing on a notepad: "Dog poop at the door, traffic jam, crazy female cat in heat, afternoon meeting, evening bar, casino, Mike calling to introduce a girl, crazy person at the apartment door fast-food shop."

The first three had already happened, and he checked them off. The latter ones were events he remembered were about to happen. Would they really happen?

After the afternoon meeting √

In the evening, going to the bar √

Losing all his savings at the casino √

The next day, not answering Mike's call √

Encountering a mentally disturbed person at the fast-food shop √

Having eaten hamburgers until he wanted to vomit, Chou Ping returned home, took out the note from his pocket, and checked off the last item. He sat there in a daze for a long time.

These two days were truly miraculous. It was as if he was replaying a game, able to foresee all the experiences he had been through.

Would these two days repeat tomorrow? Chou Ping, who could no longer fall asleep, sat on the bed, staring intently at the cuckoo clock in front of him.

When the clock struck midnight, he distinctly heard a voice in his mind: "Time restarts, forty-eight hours, even in death, it will immediately restart!"

Then, he fell into a deep sleep.

When the cuckoo bird's call woke him up from his dream, seeing that the date on his phone was still Friday and his memories became even clearer, the expression on Chou Ping's face changed subtly.

Brief confusion, uneasiness, and fear were replaced by excitement, exhilaration, and ecstasy.

Muttering to himself, Chou Ping said, "My goodness, I've truly cycled through these forty-eight hours, and I even have memories and immortality in this cycle!"

"So, it means I have forty-eight hours to indulge and do whatever I want. It sounds downright crazy, but I like it!"
