14 Untitled

Don't say it's all in her head,

When her pain's too great she rips off her nails from their beds.

You tell her to tough it out?

She smiles and secretly bites her lips 'til they bleed.

You have no idea what she's going through.

Your careless words, she doesn't need.

She's aware. She knows.

She has a broken body, a broken soul, and, perhaps, a broken mind,

When you have no choice but to depend on morphine.

She's aware. She knows,

How bad they can make you, so most times she does without.

But choosing to keep her sanity over relief makes her scream out loud.

Hasn't it occurred to you, that if she could, she would have exchanged her body a long time ago?

Your actions and your words sometimes hurt her so.

It's all in her head?

In exchange for bits of heaven, you have no idea of the hell she has to go through.

No, no one would truly understand until it happens to you.

Each good and painless day, each smile's a feat.

So don't bring her down with your ignorance when she's struggling to be up on her feet.

Strength, faith, hope, when exhausted, most times she wishes to die.

So be quiet - yes, you, who says her pain is all a lie.
