3 No longer a Dungeon Mob Pt.III

"Hmm, hmm, hmm."

Walking down the cave, I begun to hum. Something I had learnt from the girl's memories. It was quite the relaxing hobby.

[Warning! Warning! Dungeon Mid-Boss Goblin Warrior Has Spawned Near You]

'Dungeon Mid-Boss? What is that?'

The voice didn't answer me, leaving me curious as to what it meant. However, I lost interest as soon as I came across a weird giggly substance. It was green and had a weird ball inside it. I decided to poke it with the staff, but when I did, it simply popped, leaving its weird ball behind.

[You killed a Green Slime]

[The Green Slime dropped 1 Green Slime Core]

"Green Slime? And what is this slime core?"

Being cautious, I used my staff to touch it just to make sure nothing was wrong with it. Then I picked up the ball and stared at it. I tried to bite it, but I couldn't. I then tried smashing it on the ground, but nothing happened.

"What can I do with this?"

[Send the Green Slime Core for an <<Appraisal>> to find its use and value]

"An <<Appraisal>>? Where?"

I didn't get any response from the weird voice, so I moved on, with the slime orb in hand.

BOOM!

The ground shook heavily, and were it not for my new found staff, I would have fallen on my butt. A dark shadow loomed over me, releasing an eerie pressure, which prompted me to slowly turn around. When I did, I was stunned by the sight.

A very large creature, easily six feet tall and with very large muscles, green scaly skin, a cloth around it's waist, blood red eyes and a large bone sword at its side appeared before me. It brought its head down and sniffed me, before grinning and showing off its yellow fangs.

[The Dungeon Mid-Boss Goblin Warrior has appeared before you]

"Huh? Mid-boss, goblin warrior? Is this it?"

I looked at the creature that was four times my size and it did the same.

"You. Anomaly. Must. Kill."

He pointed at me, but I turned around, looking for any other things he could have been referring to, but strangely there was nothing else.

"Me? Anomaly? Kill? What are you talking about?"

Without listening to me, he brought down his large bone sword with no mercy, and I barely avoided it. The ground where I once stood formed spider web cracks and the pressure the goblin had created caused me stumble a bit.

"Hey! Hey! Watch where you swing your bone!"

The sword came at me again, and I bent backwards, narrowly avoiding the attack. With my tail, I swung the staff at the goblin warrior, but he easily defended against it.

"Ah! Stay back you stupid greeny!"

I shouted as I waved my staff at the large goblin. It swung its bone sword at me and I tried to block with the dagger, but under its weight and the pressure being applied by the goblin, I got smashed into the ground, and I accidentally smashed the Green Slime Orb with me.

"Aaaghh!"

I could feel it coming again. This was no time for me to be complaining about pain, so I rolled over and got back on my legs. I snarled at the goblin, but he simply smirked at me then swung again. I avoided the blade by back-flipping, and jumped by pushing myself from the wall with all my might.

"Skill, [Claw Attack]!"

My claws protruded, becoming sharper and I slashed at the goblin's face, but it blocked with its weapon. Luckily for me, we were in an enclosed area, so I could continue my attack. I bounced off a wall and slashed again, this time getting a strike on his right eye, but it didn't even react to that.

"Eeeekk! [Claw Attack]! [Claw Attack]! [Claw Attack]! [Claw Attack]!"

I kept on screaming and bouncing off walls, slashing at him furiously. Arms, legs, chest, back, face. Anywhere I could get, I would strike, but a mid-boss isn't to be underestimated. Either he tanked my attacks, blocked with his weapon or avoided the attack. Still, I couldn't give up. I just kept on going.

I didn't even listen to the voice anymore. I just kept on clawing at the goblin warrior. I could feel myself getting faster. My Claws were getting sharper. The more I attacked, the more effective my attacks were. The goblin warrior began to stumble. It collapsed on one knee, roaring in pain, but I ignored it.

"WHAT!?"

It began to glow with a red aura and the pressure it was releasing pushed me back.

"Aaaagghh!"

I was slammed into the wall mercilessly, my back aching.

Ignoring the pain, I got back on my feet and looked around for a means of escape. Taking this thing on was suicide. I couldn't find any means. I was in a very cramped space, and by the looks of the goblin warrior, I wasn't going to be able to squeeze through it.

'In that case… Push through!'

I charged at the goblin warrior, and he easily landed a blow at my stomach, sending me flying.

[Warning! Warning! Your Health Points are dangerously low]

'Ugh, I'll need to go faster then. [Claw Attack].'

My black claws protruded as I stood, but just then

[The opponent is producing a high amount of pressure]

[Your Strength is not high enough to move in this condition]

[Will you use your status points on strength?]

'… Sure?'

Having no idea what it meant, I just nodded.

[You have used 5 status points on strength]

[Your strength stat is now 45]

I felt it. Although tiny, I had gotten a bit stronger. My muscles had tightened up a bit and I found it a bit easier to move in the pressure, still, I couldn't do much under it.

I looked all around me, and some distance away, I saw a green slime moving around. Then I remembered something that happened earlier on.

'When the goblin warrior attacked me, I accidentally cracked the orb and got experience points. These experience points help me level up and when I level up, my health points also go up. In that case…'

I ran towards the slime and popped its giggly exterior and picked up the orb.

"[Claw Attack]! [Claw Attack]! [Claw Attack]! [Claw Attack]!"

Panting heavily, I received a message

[You have received 2 EXP]

'It took me four times to break one. I can't do this long. My active skill [Claw Attack] takes away too much stamina and without stamina, I can't move.'

I scouted the area for more slimes and I found quite a few. I ran around, popping their exteriors. Luckily it seemed that the goblin warrior was in some sort of trance. I managed to find fifteen slime orbs, and I grabbed all of them, then ran towards the goblin warrior.

"Hey! Big greeny! Look at me."

The goblin glared at me, then swung its mighty sword once again. I braced myself for impact, but…

'Why the HELL IS THIS SO PAINFUL!!!'

I slammed into the wall and my body cracked the orbs.

"Kekeke… worth it!"

I jumped up from the ground and looked at the goblin warrior.

"Now… where were we?"

I charged at the creature, making sure to keep an eye out for all of his movements. I avoided a blow of his sword and jumped on his face, clawing at it mercilessly, but he simply shook me off. My attack had caused little to no damage.

I punched the ground and jumped at him again.

'Faster! Stronger! Sharper! [Claw Attack]! [Claw Attack]! [Claw Attack]!'

'Eugh! Not now! Faster! [Claw Attack]! [Claw Attack]! [Claw Attack]!'

My claws turned obsidian black. They were sharper and were vibrating furiously. I could feel it. An increase in slashing power and speed. I ran at it again. I slashed one arm, and the cut went through his aura easily. When I saw its blood spill, I was filled with glee. I stood a chance. I could do it.

I bounced off the wall and struck at its chest. Then I went for its other arm, my attack proving effective. The creature let out a roar of pain, but I was not done. I continued moving. Striking and slashing wherever I could. I was like this blinding darkness that was swarming the goblin warrior. Without mercy, I unleashed an onslaught of black claws to the being that wished for my death.

'What!? Why now!? No! NO! I refuse to die here! Let me go a little bit longer! Please!'

'It did what!? Never mind! I can do this now! Kekeke!'

Glee and excitement filled my veins as I was feeling more energized. I felt on top of everything. As I kept on going, I hadn't even realized that I had already killed the goblinoid. I just kept on going non-stop.
