1 Chapter 1: why self-improvement?

What am I even doing with my life? It's the same story every single day: coming back from school, having an unhealthy meal, then playing videogames until late in the evening. I never have the time to study and I'm stressed by the fact that I have stuff to do even while playing games so I can't fully enjoy that either. I always procrastinate and no matter how hard I try I can come back on track only for a couple of days at most. But it drains me so I eventually come back to my old habits, thinking to myself: "Why am I such a loser? Why can't I control my life and do something I would be proud of?"

Sounds familiar? Or at least you can relate to some parts? If so, you must know that you are not the only one struggling. In fact, the majority of people have the same experience as you do. If you are fine with being average and never doing something impressive with your life you can stop reading go on with your life as it is right now. But, if you are like me and you are getting goosebumps just from the thought of remaining average forever and being trapped in the rat race then this book will hopefully help you get on the right track to accomplish your dreams.

I started my self-improvement journey about 2 years ago. I was searching for a solution to my problem when I found a video present ideas different to what I grew up thinking. I saw a book review on YouTube and immediately after watching the video I ordered the book. I was no reading fan before but I managed to read the book in 4 days although the book had over 200 pages. I was reading about two hours daily, something I have never done before. What was the difference between this book and the others I had so much struggle reading in the past? I was learning. My perception of the world suddenly widened up. I have never seen the world that way. It was a book about financial education, about things all of us do that make us poor without us realizing it. I stuck on to reading since then and here I am now, writing the first words of my own book. That book helped me a lot because it was showcasing a different perspective of the world. I grew up thinking that's it's impossible for me to become an athlete or an entrepreneur. "You have to have rich parents to become an entrepreneur. You have to have athlete parents to become an athlete yourself". That was my view on the world until reading that book. That book was "Rich dad, poor dad" by Robert Kiyosaki. The main idea of the books was that you don't need to have money in order to make more money. All you need is knowledge. Now the way I think is: "anyone can become an athlete if they learn how to train right. Anyone can become an entrepreneur if they learn how to sell. Anyone can do anything if they learn how to do it."
