Click Bait App

Yona slumped to the bed as she finished off all the wine. She still retained her conscious mind despite being tipsy. But the feeling kept nagging in her heart, nibbling at it. And it made her utterly frustrated.

"Damn it! I refuse to be lonely! I refuse to wallow myself in self-pity while that bastard is happily indulging himself in debauchery."

She muttered to herself. She whipped out her phone and for the heck of it she searched for something that never in her life did she imagine she would search for. Okay, maybe she was exaggerating. But that was a moot point. It doesn't change the fact she wasn't the type to search for it anyway.

'Where can I find a companion in Tokyo?'

She typed in the search bar. Yona was surprised when she saw the result. There at the topmost was an app called Boyfriend for Hire. She raised an eyebrow at this. Yona clicked it and read the description.

Boyfriend for Hire was actually a travel application that lets tourists book handsome locals as travel guides and companions for a fixed rate. Yona thought that the app name was such a freaking click bait.

But having nothing better to do and feeling out of her inhibitions, she downloaded the app and scrolled through its list. Yona pouted at a sudden realization.

"Why am I even bothering to scroll up and down? Tsk. Tsk. Yona, you deserve the best. So the number one guy should be your only choice, you silly girl."

She navigated to the profile of the top guy that the app has set. Yona couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. The app at least lived up to the standards necessary when proclaiming a number one position. The guy was handsome. Okay, maybe that was an understatement. He was really, really handsome.

"My, what a bloody surprise. There's actually someone even more good-looking than Hajime-aniue? Well, albeit just by a slight margin. Let's hope that this picture didn't have any help from photoshop or I'll f*cking sue them."

Yona murmured as she studied the man in the picture. The guy looked absolutely angelic. His eyes were the color of aged honey frame with long and thick eyelashes. She shouted injustice for that one. It was not fair for a man to have eyelashes like that. What does he freaking need it for?

His nose was high and aristocratic. And his lips. Yona gushed at his perfectly luscious lips. Add that to his smile and it was practically a crime. It was too beautiful. Even Yona had to admit that she's taken in by that sinful curve.

She read his profile. He was actually a year younger than her. And was only half-japanese. The other half was russian. Yona smirked at that information.

"Makes sense. Russian guys are unbelievably hot."

She giggled at this thought. It also said in his profile that he has quite a few part-time jobs as well. But did not specify about it. She internally commended on how hardworking he was.

Yona immediately tapped the book button and she directed to select the days and schedule she wanted. Without any semblance of hesitation or pretense, she directly booked the guy's entire three-month schedule.

Three months may seem a bit much but she wanted to explore entire country. Three months was already cutting it short. The site gave a number to save and was told to save for it was the number of the boyfriend she booked. And that he would contact her directly about the setting of their first meetup.

The site also informed her that she could arrange with her boyfriend the places she wanted to visit or the things she wanted to do. In turn, the guy would take her to those places or recommend where the best would be.

After all the briefing, Yona proceeded to process her payment in full and then it was all set.

Yona only needed to wait for a message from her newly hired personal travel guide and companion. She wanted to call him boyfriend just as how the site termed him. But she opted not to. It was too awkward. And it reminded her of how much of a clickbait the app was. They should have put a space between boy and friend so that people wouldn't expect so much.

She was actually hoping for something much more boyfriend-like. But the app said that skinship was actually prohibited. Prohibited!

What a waste that is. Sigh.

Oh well, having a handsome guy following her around isn't such a bad prospect as well.

Yona smiled as she gave the man's profile another go- over. She'll see if he'll live up to his reputation. If he did, Yona will ensure it would be worth all his while.

'If he's really ideal, I might as well hire him for keeps.'

Inoue Ren, huh? How exciting.
