Prologue Part 2

Eight months later

An owl was tapping on my window. Curious, I opened the windows, to find a letter in the owl claws. I collect it knowing who it's from. Owls are only found in the Moon Kingdom so it has to be Lix. But why would he do that. If my parents saw the owl come to my room they would get suspicious and we don't want that. Still I was giddy to receive a letter from the boy I love, obviously I didn't tell him I love him. It's only been eight months since our first kiss and I don't want him thinking I'm weird or something.

Looking at the scroll, I couldn't help but admire it. Our people are total opposites. I'm from the Sun Kingdom and he's from the Moon Kingdom. Although I never told him where I live or anything about my family I still feel like our people don't have to be enemies. I decided to keep where I live and the sun part of me hidden. All he knows is that I came from a rough background and I would like it to stay that way.

The scroll. Yeah the scroll was decorated with snow flakes and it looked like it was made of ice, which it probably was considering the moistness in my hand that is gradually enlarging. I need to read this fast before every thing melts away. I opened the scroll to see one of the neatest hand writing I've ever seen. It was even neater than mine. Controlling my thoughts I started reading,

Dear Crimson,

I know this is risky, but I just had to tell you how truly sorry I am that I couldn't make it today. Happy Birthday, my precious star. I wish that you have many more to come. Choose wisely on how you spend them. And even when I'm not around, know I only wish you happiness. Meet me tomorrow at noon. I have a present with your name on it. See you soon.

The next day I was sitting under a tree waiting on him. I came a little early so I could concentrate on my new song.

Steady then violent, calm then rough

Though it always seem tough on the outside

It's still a working progress but it will get there. I looked up and nearly jump out of my skin.

" ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!! HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU HAVE TO DO THAT!! " I roared at Lix. He didn't even flinch just only smirked. I would have cut those lips off if I didn't like it so much. Gahhhh! What is he doing to me! I have to admit he did grew from when we first met. He was standing at about 6'2 and his shoulders got wider. His hair was darker almost black and his eyes, the best part of him if I admit, was a darker shade of blue, like the colour of the sky. He had a muscular frame, high cheekbones, pointed nose, a pale complexion almost like a vampire and last but not least plump lips. To say I was lucky was an understatement. He was freaking gorgeous. Compared to him I looked like a bag of potatoes.

" Wow was this meant for me " he said, plucking the note book out of my hands. He began to read loudly while I tried desperately to get it back before he could read it. But it was no use. I couldn't reach him. He towered over me with my 5'5 frame. I was tall for a girl at my age but sometimes I forget that cause he's just fifteen and he's so tall.

Resting my hands on my hips I waited for him to finish, scowling as the time pass. Turning towards me he raised an eyebrow and I just rolled my eyes, fed up with his antics.

" Stop scowling. It's messing up your beautiful face " he said shifting closer to me his playful demeanor falling. Putting both hands to my cheeks he spoke

" I'm sorry I missed your birthday. Something came up last minute " I smiled at him not even a little mad my birthday normally just pass like a normal day before I met him. He was always thoughtful. Picking up a box from the ground, which I haven't noticed until now, he said

" Here's you're present " handing it over to me.

" You didn't have to you know but thank you" I said with a smile. Opening the box, I shrieked as a white blur jumped out. Running behind Lix, as he laughed, I yelled,

" WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!!"

" It's a wolf cub, born yesterday. It looks like I might have added a little too much of moonrite, cause she is not supposed to be moving, after all she was born yesterday." he said with a little bit of humor.

" Ssshe iis not going to bite me is she? " I asked stuttering on some words.

" No, she knows you're her owner so she would never bring you harm" he said reassuringly.

I spent the rest of the day familiarizing myself with her. I named her Winter after the boy who give her to me. When I went home I begged my parents to let me keep her, I told them I found her near the palace grounds and that she has no where else to go. They told me no but I snuck her in to my room and after a couple of days of finding her with me they let her stay. Lix told me he had a wolf too. He named him Asher and sometimes we would meet at the between with our wolves and they would play together. I was so happy and content.

BUT WITH ALL HAPPY THINGS THEY MUST COME TO AN END.
