Poison and Steel

Kimi looked through one of the openings on the broken windows and saw a sight that was a little familiar to her. 'So it is this type of mission.'

Before her regression there was a need to build up a poison resistance for her job when she was dealing with certain types of tasks.

Within Kanto there were far too many poisonous Pokémon and nobody would notice some going missing or would miss them after they disappeared, they had less chances to be poisoned and use their funds to purchase cures for themselves or their own Pokémon.

Some types of grass, bug or poison types would release some unique spore, mist, venom or sludge type attacks that carried different effects.

Some had a very enticing and attractive fragrance, others caused those who came into contact with them to become poisoned, others were stunned and others fell asleep.

There were people that would profit on just about anything that could be sold and if it could be collected, it could be sold by them and later be utilised by the person who purchased them.

The potential dangers of such things circulating in the background of Kanto were not something that could be overlooked and Kimi took part in operations to shut them down.

The problem was that each group varied in power and connections so those with enough people inside of the league or the law enforcement departments would be tipped off earlier before a raid happened.

They would have time to remove the traces of their work before getting away before a team arrived.

Some groups were unaffiliated with anyone while some others seemed to be a part of a much bigger organisation but they never gave up their boss or did not know the identity of them.

Kimi had some suspicions on who it was but she could not openly point out her suspicions without valid proof.

Before her eyes was a familiar scene that she had encountered before and there were many Pokémon that were heavily restrained and some ruggedly dressed people were carrying some glass bottles with protective gloves on their hands with a protective mask on their face.

There was a lot of male and female Nidoran that were restrained and they struggled to free themselves but there were a much smaller number of Nidorina and Nidorino.

The glass bottles were lowered near their horns that had secreted the poison and the liquid poison continued to be collected like that within the glass bottles.

Upon being threatened or having something touching their horns, poison would be secreted, it was well known that the longer the horn of them, the more potent the poison.

The length of their horn was one way to find out their power level and the potency of their poisons so that made it easier for many to better identify which poison would be the most effective and would sell for a higher price on the black market.

Once a couple of drops were collected, the glass bottles were sealed and placed in a box to the side.

Kimi knit her brows. 'No wonder the quality and levels of the Nidoran have dropped in the area and it was lucky enough for me to encounter a yellow talent. Perhaps it was ignored due to it being a lower level and having a smaller horn. There were far less obstructions on my way here so they must have done some hunting recently too.'

The Nidoran she encountered when she was catching various Pokémon on the routes around Cerulean City were much lower level and the talents of each of them were very low.

The only one with decent enough talent was the one she had chosen to raise and it was a lower level so it could be a survivor of one of the groups that were attacked which had fled to another area.

It may have been a new born, was very young or lead a sheltered life that did not allow it to grow but that had saved it from the scene in front of Kimi.

On the way towards the abandoned factory, there were few Pokémon that blocked her path and most she encountered had chosen to run away first which showed that the people involved had been causing problems in the area and were greatly affecting the habitats of those living there.

It was not strange for some to be driven out of their habitat and move into another further away which could affect the balance of power there.

She counted five people inside and two among them seemed to be handling the collecting of the poison. 'They have weapons of their own, Pokémon guarding them at around level twenty to thirty and they have access to poisons. No wonder I was given this task.. it is not an easy one but I do have my own trump cards.'

An evil smirk appeared on her face as she began to plan out her next move.

Stepping into the forest, Kimi met up with Scizor and released Grimer along with Nidoran. "Now for a little anti-poison warfare."

The red eyes behind her white goat skull mask were very clear and calm looking which showed how she had gotten into the right frame of mind for the battle ahead.

Moments later, Nidoran had moved towards the main entrance and pushed the door open using its small body. "Nidoran!"

Its cry attracted the attention of the people within and they showed a look of annoyance. "What happened to those guys? Can they not do a job as simple as preventing others from getting close?"

"Go get it."

One small Nidoran was no real threat to them but when they saw the size of the horn on her head, they quickly realised that she was not that low of a level but she was not a threat to them too.

A Graveler and Cubone appeared and chased after Nidoran that had ran away upon being seen.

They seemed to be experienced with dealing with poison types and sent out those capable of using ground type moves that were more effective against Nidoran.

There was a look of anger in the eyes of Nidoran as she took one final look inside towards those that were restrained before running away. "Nidoran!"

Once Cubone reached outside, it scooped up some dirt in its hand and chased behind Nidoran.

The difference in levels and stats was too great so she could not get that far away before it caught up and tossed the mud towards her using Mud Slap.

Graveler was the same as Cubone but was lacking in speed so it was a little behind then all of a sudden, there was a figure that moved quickly between Cubone and Nidoran.

Scizor lunged forward at a speed that almost made it difficult to see and hit its body into Cubone. "Scizor."

Nidoran had her eyes closed upon being hit a little during her attempt to avoid the mud slap but she seemed still capable of fighting.

Even with her eyes closed, she turned back towards the Cubone that was hit back and charged forward.

The horn on her head was used to perform a poison sting which left behind traces of the poison on the body of Cubone where it had been attacked by Nidoran.

She ran away right away before it could target her or Graveler could reach them and left the battle to the others.

Nidoran raised her head proudly as she ran away and her eyes had opened once again.

With the guidance of aura, it was possible for her accuracy and vision not to be affected even if she was hit with the mud slap but she just kept her eyes closed while following the instructions of Kimi.

Even a small contribution to the battle would aid her growth and she had already done enough to draw the enemy out into the open.

A Grimer came out and hurled a toxic looking sludge towards Cubone without caring if any of it hit Nidoran or Scizor who were still close by. "Grimer."

Nidoran would still be harmed by poison type moves due to her not possessing a certain type of trait or ability to not be damaged or poisoned by them but she was able to narrowly avoid the toxic sludge that was thrown towards Cubone.

If she was hit, she would only sustain half the damage due to it being less effective to her so Kimi did not need to worry too much about her safety.

Even if Scizor was hit by any of the poisonous moves, it was immune to poison type moves due to being a steel type and that made it the direct enemy of so many poison trainers and Pokémon in Kanto while making it an excellent ally to Grimer and Nidoran.

It was able to move around the poisons freely and quickly dispatch enemies while they were suffering the effects of the poisons.

Scizor seemed to detect Graveler getting closer so move quickly out of the way, it reappeared by Graveler and lunged towards it at a fast speed while sending out fast punches.

The steel type move that was bullet punch was very effective against Graveler and

Graveler was knocked back a little but once it regained its position, Scizor did not let it go and another high speed punch knocked it out.

Before anyone made it to the door to check out how the two were progressing with the battle, one Graveler was taken down and a Cubone was already very weak while it was suffering from the poisons that continued to inflict damage to it that came from Nidoran and Grimer.

Her dark team had just begun and it was showing how lethal it could be when used in the region of Kanto that had few Pokémon that were steel types unless they had been brought over from another region and not enough people had access to more advanced methods of how some could be evolved into a steel type like Onix and Scyther.

The only viable option within Kanto for other trainers to have a similar team setup was to have a Magnemite or a Magneton that was an electric and steel type but it would be used differently compared to the Scizor that Kimi was raising.
