5 Chapter 05 - Hells' Gate

"What did you just say?!" Lee young turned to look at Jason, with shock written on his face.

"Woah..." Jason said raising his hand to Lee young "I didn't expect such a reaction from you"

Whoosh! Grab!

Lee young grabbed Jason's arm with force, almost fracturing his bones in the process. He stared Jason straight in the eye.

"Did you just say my sister?!" Lee young said, while ignoring Jason's statement. He had to make sure he heard Jason properly.

"Yes. But I want you to calm down." Jason responded

"Calm down? You want me to calm down? Okay okay I will calm down" Lee young said, and slowly loosened his grip from Jason's arms.

"I never knew you could be so obedient" Jason tried to joke around.

"What is it? Tell me" Lee young wasn't in the mood for such.

"Alright" Jason said with a sigh "Do you remember the night my dad found you?"

"Yes. What about it?" How could Lee young not remember that night?

That night was the darkest night of his life. One, which haunted him even in his sleep.

Twenty years ago.......

Lee young laid on the ground drenched in his own blood. He had lost all strength in his body after being stabbed, but couldn't give up on life. He held on. His sister had been taken away by the enemy and he had to save her. However, he was too weak. What exactly could he do right now? He was drawing closer to death's door, and if no one shows up to save him soon; even with his resilience, he would be joining his parents in the after life.

"How long has it been?" The kid asked himself. He lost track of time due to the pain he felt. A second, a minute, an hour, a day. Lee young didn't know how long it had been, but it felt like an eternity to him. In one night, he had lost his family. If it were some other kid, they'd be dead by now.

Suddenly, the sound of a siren could be heard approaching from a distance.

Rumble! Screech!

The sound of an engine stopping outside the house alerted Lee young, that someone was there but, he was too weak to make a sound.

Tak! Tak! Stomp! Thud!

Foot steps of a person entering the house, could by heard.

"What a mess"

The deep voice of a man resounded in this quiet home.

Detective Carl looked around the house, and saw the mess of blood, made by the shattered skull of Mr Lee and his wife.

"Sigh" he sighed when he saw the headless corpse of the couple lying on the floor.

"Who could have done this sir?" The young cadet who accompanied him on the job asked detective Carl.

"There are things on the job that are best left uncovered. It is because, even if we did find out, i'm afraid, there is nothing we may be able to do about it" Detective Carl responded as he walked further into the house.

"Huh?" Cadet Kelly responded with a dumbfounded expression on his face.

"Heh" detective Carl smiled and said "You may not understand what I said right now, but when the time comes....." Detective Carl suddenly noticed a body lying on the floor across the living room.

"???" Cadet Kelly puzzled by the detective's sudden stop in his words, followed the direction of his gaze to locate a body lying on the floor.

And unlike the first two they had seen earlier, this one was whole.

Detective Carl suddenly charged at the kid lying on the floor.

At a closer look, he noticed that the kid is lying in a pool, of his own blood.

"Sigh" Kelly sighed and said "It's just a kid, he should be dead by now"

"Kelly...." Detective Carl called out in a calm tone "Always remember this; in this job, don't ever conclude until you are certain a person is truly dead."

"Yes sir" Kelly responded and looked at Lee young.

Lee young could hear the sounds being made. However, due to his muddled consciousness, he couldn't really make out what they were saying.

Detective Carl crouched and stretched his hand to touch the kid.

"!!!" He noticed; the boy, although weakly, was still breathing. Which means he is still alive!

Detective Carl quickly picked up the kid.

"!!" Kelly was taken aback by this sudden change of events. "Sir is he alive?" He asked

"Yes, and we need to help him soon, else he dies" detective said in response and headed for his car outside.

"But sir, shouldn't we call for the ambulance instead?" Kelly was very familiar with this part of the job.

As officers the logical thing to do would be calling for an ambulance.

However,

"There is no need for that" detective Carl responded "Quick open the door!" He shouted an order at the young cadet.

Kelly was still in surprise by the actions of his superior, but he could only comply.

Lee young was put into the car and detective Carl drove off, leaving Kelly behind.

"What possessed him?" The cadet asked himself as he looked at the departing vehicle. He turned back to look at the house "He didn't even give me any orders before he left" he said scratching his head.

"Oh! Maybe this is a test of my skills" Kelly said thinking to himself.

Whoosh! Vrooooooooom!

Detective carl drove at a very fast pace.

He drove a police car so anyone who saw him driving with such speed, would think there was an emergency.

"Where is he taking me to?" Lee young asked himself as he felt the cold breeze on his injury.

Detective Car, still in the middle of driving, suddenly remembered; he didn't attempt to stop Lee young's bleeding in his hurry.

Screech!

He abruptly stopped the car.

"Shit!" He cursed under his breath and quickly got out of the car. He hurriedly went for Lee young "Good thing his still alive!" He said and got a first aid kit out of the boot.

After two minutes of quick wrapping, he went back to the drivers seat and sped off.

****************************

{Unknown location}

Down the marshy and narrow path with his car. Detective Carl made his way through the thick forest with Lee young at the back of his car.

The car continously wobbled, and even one who was healthy, might feel drowsy and sick because of it. How much more Lee young? However, the kid didn't die. This is something that would awe anyone who heard it. How was a kid of age four capable of surviving for so long? Even after being stabbed? He should have bled to death by now.

The car suddenly stopped at the middle of no where. Detective Carl jumped off the car and carried Lee young. "How is this kid able to survive all this?" He asked himself. It definitely wasn't normal!

"Anyway, good thing he's still alive because, it would be a waste coming all the way here for nothing" he said in a low tone and made his way perpendicular to the car.

As far as one could see, were trees and vegetation of different types around. He came to a stop before a massive tree

"What do you want?!" A cold, calm, yet domineering voice resounded behind him.

Detective Carl turned round calmly, but didn't see anyone. "Hold your horses" he said calmly but loudly "I have come to hells' gate today, to meet with 'Hell's Monarch'

Shing!

A dagger had been pointed at detective carl's throat silently. If he was not being probed, he'd be dead by now.

"How do you know that name?" The voice of The gate keeper of hell, Deaths Gate' entered his ear.

"It is I 'Detective Carl'. I do not have time to argue with you Death's gate. The boy won't last long." Carl said with an unwavering tone.

"You do know about hell but I do not know you. Which means you should die" Death's gate said and was about to pierce detective carl's throat.

"That's enough!" A calm order sounded out.
