8 8th Wing

I made a full circle from where we were standing taking in the earth and the structure that we seem to fell into. The wall seems to be made out of clay or some sort of red dirt. It seems well kept as someone lived here. I moved closer and placed my hand on the wall it’s cold but radiated a warm heat as if it’s alive.

“Well it seems like we’re in a cave, but a living cave if that makes sense,” Araxiel looked at me weirdly but didn’t question.

“Do you want to go further?” he raised his eyebrow waiting for my answer.

“Uhmm…well…we don’t have much choice do we?” I held his hand and walked toward the dimmed area to our right.

I think we walked for quite a while but it doesn’t seem that long. I wondered if this place even had a sense of time or it was completely void of it. I felt as if something tugged me, guiding me through and I just blindly leading Araxiel through this nothingness.

“Semita iusti recta videant et non invenient effuderit,” (Just straight ahead and you’ll find a splitting path,)

I just followed the voice. I don’t really know but my gut was screaming for me to just trust it and follow it. True enough we spot the split pathway.

“Ad sinistram,” (to the left,)

“This way” I pointed to the left.

Araxiel let the glimmers in front of us as we continued walking. The surrounding was all the same. Nothing much to look at and nothing much to mark as a trail. Surely someone would get lost if they don’t know their way.

“Kiel,” his soft hand squeezed mine.

“How do you know this is the right way,” Whelp I guess he thought the same.

“I just don’t..”

“What?” he looked at me as if I grew a pair of horns.

“I mean...hmm…just let me finish my sentence next time,” our steps came to a halt.

“I’m sorry, it’s just that we’ve been walking for a while now and there’s still nothing,” he was getting anxious, his sweet scent is now bitter.

“Hey, look at me,” I pulled him close and wrapped my hand around his smaller frame.

“I was saying the truth, I don’t know the way but, something inside me is telling me, guiding me, if that makes sense to you,” he shook his head and nuzzled my neck.

“Let’s just continue okay, everything will be okay,” he nodded his head.

“Okay, and I’m sorry for being like this,” he peeled away from me.

“It’s okay love, you okay now,” I smiled at him, relieved when he looked calmer.

We continued again. I don’t know for how long but it seems never-ending. Red clay, dusty brown sand, and dark pathway. When I was on the verge of giving up, Araxiel suddenly pointed at something in front of us. I squinted my eyes to see what it was, but in these circumstances, it’s not that clear. Like a child in a candy store, he pulled me running towards that particular object.

“Tch…it’s just some pillar,” I rolled my eyes at his stunned face.

“At least I found something,” he sassed back and I just chuckled.

“In ite,et videte ubi omnia ibi incipiat esse et quod veritate,” ( Go in, there you’ll see where all it begin and what is the truth)

“Come on, this way,”

“It seems like some sort of chamber” Araxiel turned to the right while I went to the center.

I glanced up. With the little light, we had all that I could make up the roof was really high and it’s a dome-like structure. There was an intricate indentation on it and it looks somewhat like the monolith back home.

“In medio est, et quod sequi te dices”(To the middle, and follow what I will say,)

“Araxiel, come here,” he looked at me in confusion.

“Do you trust me on this” he nodded, I guess we don’t have that much option.

“Duo corda seorsum,

(Two hearts apart,)

Duo reversus abiit terram meam,

(two souls depart,)

Sicine subrepsti tenebris,

(darkness creep,)

Umbra adolescit,

(shadows grows,)

Illa mendaciumverum abi,

(Lies begone truth come forth,)

Puto dubium nobis semel

(Clear our doubt for once and for all)”

The final phrase echoes throughout the hall, bells rang from who knows where and the center of the dome lit up creating a line flowing down the wall until a frame formed in front of us. At first, nothing happened only our reflection was shown on it. A line from the frame flowed down until it encircles us. Our respective names appeared before us.

“Filii Nyx, ourret, cum or tuum. Verum nos imitari desideras tum,” (Sons of Nyx, come forth with your heart. Only then will we mirror your desire and truth)

Araxiel turns to me, waiting for my lead. His eyes filled with questions but the trust he had for me still shine through. I held his hand and walk closer to the mirror-like structure. A small basin of water sprouted from the wall below the frame.

Lifting our tangled hands, I looked at him once again and smiled. Carefully, our hands touch the warm liquid and our torso seems to glow. A voice spoke to me again, asking me to state our intention. I took a deep breath and linked to Araxiel.

“Mater tenebras, et Pater amat obscurum, lux filii, filiea vero; ego Arakiel Wolfrik” (Mother of darkness, father of shadows, sons of light, daughter of truth; I Arakiel Wolfrik)

“Ego Araxiel Wolfrik” ( I Araxiel Wolfrik)

“Nubibus in uno praestamus veritatis inquirendae studio. Nos olim captus latet.” (In one voice we present our desire of seeking the shrouded truth. The past that was taken and concealed from us.) In unison, we spoke.

“Liquid tempore utrem eum, oblinito, non ante nos dimittere nos intravimus serviemus igitur respondere.” (Liquid time, bottle it up, seal it up before we release it, we will serve the answer.)

“Kiel do you still have the vile father gave to you?” I nodded and unclasped the chain around my neck and hold them in front of us.

“I think we need to drink the blood,” Araxiel looked at me confused.

“I think so too,” I uncapped the vile let a drop of the blood hit my tongue before passing it to Araxiel.
