13 13th Wing

The day progressed slowly as to what I expected with all that had happened yesterday. Yes, all that shit was yesterday. Damn, how did his life spiraled this way in point one second? But at least he knew the truth behind his mate. (Minus the part that she was tortured and died.) Now he understands why the elders and his father were okay and not bewildered when he presented his own twin as his mate. They were not brothers, to begin with.

“Babe…” Araxiel sweet voice snapped me out.

“Hmmm…” he just sighed as if knowing the war inside my head.

He moved closer and pushed the documents scattered on the desk to one side. He slotted himself between my legs and sat on the cleared desk. He made the grabby hand and pouted. I closed in our gap and hug his middle. His hand slowly stroked my head and released his sweet coconut vanilla scent.

“Much better?” I just nodded into his belly.

“You know that I’m always here if you need anything and you don’t have to keep all the problem to yourself right?”

“Mn”

“Arakiel….” he disentangles me and cupped my face, making me unable to hide my face any more.

“I’m sorry…” I quickly averted my eyes not knowing how to continue.

“Hey, it’s okay, look at me,” I met his eyes once more and took a deep breath.

“I…I just feel so scared, I don’t want to lose you again, I don’t know what I will do if that happens again”

“No, that won’t happen again, I promise you, now we know and we’re in this together,”

He planted his warm lips on my cheek. I grab both of his hands and held them in between us.

“I have this nagging feeling that something on the chaotic level is brewing and waiting to explode in our face when we are least expecting it”

“Kiel, look at me,” he holds my face with both hands making it hard for me to turn away again.

“No matter what happens, my soul, my heart is always with you I’m not going anywhere”

“I believe you,” I pulled him into a hug and we stayed like that for a while.

Araxiel was the one that pulled away first but his hand didn’t let me go instead he laced them on my shoulders laying with the end of my hair.

“Hmmm,” he smiled.

“What is it?” he just chuckled.

“I just kinda miss the old you, you know the fun one from before?” he had this mischievous glint in his eyes.

“Hey! What do you mean, I’m still the same?”

“Nope,” he said popping the ‘p’.

I clicked my tongue and smirked as something utterly brilliant just crossed my mind. I pulled away a bit from him and just looked at him without saying anything.

“Kiel, what are you thinking?” he finally noticed my look.

“Kiel?” I just stayed silent, enjoying his cautious form.

“Hey, stop it. I know you’re planning something and it is not good,”

I grabbed his thighs when he started to shuffle away from me. I moved my right hand up to his waist and he let out a squeal as I begin to tickle him.

“Haha haha…Kiel…haha hahaha…stop…please,” he gasped.

His hands on my shoulders begin to push me, tears falling down his cheek and the room was filled with his laughter. If I were to describe it, it was like a merry and warmth that you get when the spring finally shows itself after the bitter winter went away.

“Kiel, please stop,” he still struggled to get away even though he knew it was useless.

“Who was the one that said I’ no fun anymore? Hmm…” I chuckled at the sight of his reddened face from all the laughter.

“Sorry, sorry…please stop…” his laughter is now reduced to a fit of giggles.

I pulled him down for a kiss, where he let out a whimper. Araxiel maneuvered himself on my lap to a much more comfortable position, with both legs sling on either side of my thighs. I licked the seams of his lips, asking permission to further the kiss. He opened up and our tongues tangled and spits intermingled with each other. It was soft and wet. He was the one to pull away first. Chest heaving from a deep breath his taking after minutes of oxygen-deprived.

“But seriously, you have changed Kiel,” His eyes were sad and his shoulder sagged to prove the point.

“Oh baby, I’m sorry,” I hugged him and letting my scent out to soothe him.

“I know you’re worried, but can we just focus on now? Hmmm, I just want us to be here, here in the present.”

“Xiel, I’m sorry. I will try to not worry so much, but I can’t promise something that I know I can’t keep, now let me see your smile deal?”

He nodded and managed a small but sincere smile. A knock broke our short-lived silence. Araxiel tried to move away again so I can discuss whatever with whoever it was outside. It was useless, to be honest. I tighten hold on him. He keeps on squirming a bit more before giving up and settled down with a pout. I smiled at him triumphantly and he snickered.

“Come in,” the door opened and Eligor came in with a deep breath and redden ears.

“I am sorry to interrupt whatever you were doing, but this is important,” he just sighed.

“As if you are not that used to this idiot’s antics,” Araxiel chided as he rolled his eyes.

“Yeah, bout that…let’s just say that sometimes you are just that shameless.” Eligor let out a humorless laugh.

“What do you want to talk about?” I cut through deciding to ignore the past comments.

“Well, Elder Wolfrik asked me to remind you about the meeting with Atos and a suitable place if you already have one in mind.”

“We do have someplace in mind,” Araxiel spoke up.

“Anything else?” I lifted an eyebrow in question for him to proceed if there’s any.

“Yes, Elder Wolfrik also wanted to inform you to go to his wing for dinner and discussion.”

“Thank you Eligor, you work hard,” I smiled at him.

He nodded and made his way out. The door shut with a click and it was silent once again.

“So I guess we still have time before dinner,” I looked at the clock at the corner of my desk.

“Want to go for a run?” Araxiel nodded and pulled me up.

We stripped out of our clothes and place them at the rack build in a tree just at the entrance of the wood. It is easier this way, we can just leave our clothes there and not too worried about them being gone or wet from the rain. We shifted and ran into the woods. It was freeing and unrestrained. With the dirt under our paws and winds through our furs.

We quickly made rounds and get updates with the ones that were patrolling and the ones that were manning the border. So far there was no disturbance and there were no sighting of rouges. That’s good and we would like things to just be maintained as they were. But who knows what the future would hold.

We went back to the packhouse and went to shower before meeting father for dinner. It was a nice and calm dinner. We told father about the place and Araxiel talked about the details and about presenting it to the council. Father agreed that a meeting should be held next week as too much had happened. What we didn’t expect was the last question he asked as we finished our wine.
