Not even seeing the bandage over his nose, his arm in a sling, and his still very banged-up face cooled me down. I searched the crowd for Remi. No way was she giving this guy the time of day. Then I spotted her. She was on her way out from the backyard with one of her girlfriends. I saw the moment she spotted Chaz and, to my relief, went over to the opposite side of the crowd from where he was standing with his friends, who were obviously drunk and rowdy.
