A Sour Greeting

"Walking around a looping hallway… That's always nice."

Rem said that with an unenthusiastic look.

After she fell to a window, she doesn't feel any more confident than she is earlier.

She looks at the window where she fell and she just sighs and continues to walk.

After walking a few minutes more, Rem just stopped and looked at a beautiful painting on the wall. She's seen that painting multiple times now and she doubts that it's her first time seeing it.

Rem rubs her chin before putting her hand on the door knob and she opens the door looking inside it and she sees a… blonde haired twin-drilled loli inside, reading a book and sitting on a chair.

"Who is this incredibly annoying woman? I guess it couldn't be helped since you look like the type to barge in without thinking, I suppose."

The girl asks as Rem closes the door immediately but she opens it, calming down as she gets in, closing the door behind her.

"U-Uh. I'm Remura… If I'm going to have to guess, you're probably an NPC, or even something else."

Rem looks around and it's already in her mind. She's in a library, a big one too.

"Hey, uh little girl, I hope you don't mind me asking something, but what is this place?"

The blonde loli sighs and looks at Rem with an annoyed expression on her face.

"It's Betty's study, bedroom and her personal space. In other words, you're not obliged to be here, I suppose."

Rem: "Oh, answering straight away? That's always nice."

Rem seems already satisfied with that answer as she tries to leave now and tries to leave now but the door is locked.

Rem looks at Betty who still hasn't moved from her place, and she doesn't even wanna move from the place.

Rem: "Uhh. Do you know why the door is locked…? Wait did you lock this loli child? Wait hold on a minute, you're reading a book. That must mean you're a smart little girl right? Oh that's always nice. I wish I was like you when I was at your age…"

Every word Rem just said, annoyed Betty even more to the point she closes her book and puts it aside and walks to Rem.

Rem seeing Betty is approaching without a reason, but with a slightly intimidating face made her summon her light horn unconsciously.

"You've irritated me to the point I can no longer have patience with you, In fact, I have no choice but to teach you a lesson for it."

Betty said as she is now in front of the scared Rem.

Rem is now doubting that she isn't an ordinary child reading a book.

"W-what a-are you going to do??"

Rem asked as Betty looked at her with a serious face.

"Don't move. If you do, it'll be more painful than you think."

Rem backs off and still attempts to open the door as Betty asks her.

"Any last words? You're bound to have something to say since I might actually kill you, I suppose."

Rem just gulps and looks at her with fear in her eyes.

"Please make it quick…"

Betty puts a hand on Rem's stomach and a second after that Rem was met with a strong extreme burning shocking pain inside her as she screams in pain and her horn intensifies.

Later after that Betty backed off.

Rem was struggling to stand and she's about to fall but she manages to stand, and she tries to calm herself down from what just happened to her.

For Betty, she wasn't expecting Rem to be standing after she drained Rem's magic but she's still standing after that. Betty was surprised, but she didn't make any moves since Rem didn't feel any hostility against her, nor did she want to even approach Rem when she witnessed her still standing.

Rem just rubs her head as she looks at Betty.

"W-was that supposed to kill me or just punish me…? If it's either…"

Rem's light horn starts to disappear as she starts to wobble.

"I guess you win… Yay...?"

Rem falls down to her knees as her horn disappears and falls face first to the ground.

This reminded Rem of her first death, which she didn't forget still, and still haunts her to this day.

Before anything else was said, Rem's entire world has already faded to black.
