9 EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED

Hearing Seetha's coughing, Ram turned to Seetha's side. When he noticed her presence he planned to get out and walked towards the door.

Seetha noticed that a lot of used cigarettes on the floor, all over the house. When he held the door handle to open Seetha called his name

She asked with a confusion "You were happy yesterday with your friends. What happened now?"As usual, Ram didn't respond anything.

Seetha asked in a worried tone "Is it because of Leela?"Ram didn't reply but she noticed his face getting raged and his hand gripping the door's handle tightly.

Seetha continued "Ram. I don't know what exactly happened but if it is because of Leela then...it will be alright."

Ram turned away as he was not in the mood to talk to anyone. He opened the door to get out. Seetha grabbed his hand to stop him from getting out.

Ram shaken his hand which made Seetha and the flower vase near the door fell down. Hearing the 'crash' sound, Ram turned back to check what happened.

Seetha was cut by a glass piece on her foot which was bleeding now. She screamed in pain. Ram helped Seetha to walk by holding her hand.

She can't able to walk properly So Ram carried her in his arms and entered inside Seetha's washroom. When Ram lifted Seetha in his arms Seetha got shocked and asked him to let her down.

Ram didn't respond to her request instead made her sit down on the stool which was near the washbasin.

Ram took a small tub and placed her foot inside the tub. He took the shower pipe and filled the water inside the tub, he stopped the waterflow from the pipe and washed her foot with that water.

Seetha asked Ram to stop. She said without looking into his eyes "I will do it myself"as she felt akward. Ram asked directly looking into her eyes "Do you know what to do when you got glass cut?".

Seetha nodded her head as yes. Ram asked "What it is?". She somewhat answered hesitantly as she really don't know what to do "First, wash my foot with water. Second... second...wash my foot with more water...third...third, wash my foot with... more...and more...water. Then apply...medicine..."

Ram laughed at her who was answering hesitantly and wrongly. He continued washing her foot. She continued interrupting him that she will do.

He rinsed the wound with the clean water and soap. Then he carried her to the couch and disinfected her wound with an antiseptic. He also used self-adhesive dressing and covered her wound with the help of first aid kit.

Ram smiled when she thanked him for treating her. She apologized saying "I am sorry. When you left the house I thought you were going to get drunk. I felt sad when you got drunken so I stopped you."

Ram who was sitting next to Seetha at the couch apologized saying "I know and I am sorry. I just went out without answering your questions."

Seetha protested that no it's not his mistake which looked so cute.Finally, Seetha changed the topic as she said worriedly "If Lisa or any of your friends came to know that you are smoking again, they will get upset."

Ram said in the same worried tone "Then don't say that to Lisa or any of my friends. I don't know why but only drinking and smoking helps me get rid of this problem."

Seetha said "No. It is not helpi..." Ram stopped her by saying "I got to go."Ram don't want to hear anything again as he doubted on himself that he will hurt her again.

So he left. Seetha understood his situation and didn't stop this time. She thought to herself 'His friends advised him softly. One of his friend slapped him and almost got into a fight. Eventhough they did a lot of things to make him happy, he was still worried about Leela. I won't say what happened today to Lisa because I don't want her to be sad. If it repeats again and again then I don't have any choice either."

She cleaned the used cigarettes which was all over the house. It filled the empty dustbin fully. She also cleaned the broken flower vase.

She felt pain from her foot but she ignored that and made dinner for both of them. She simply looked here and there when she was waiting for Ram's return.

She saw the place where the broken flower vase was present before. She got an idea and made a flower vase using newspaper. She kept the flower inside the flower vase which she made at her college and kept it near the door.

She thought 'Now, it can't be broken or hurt her.' When she was returning to dinning table She saw Lord Ganesha statue. She prayed to him "Ram should be okay and...a glass breaking in house means good luck is coming on the way. Yeah, I remember my grandmother said if you accidentally break some glass that means evil is leaving your house and good luck is coming to our home." She took that incident positively and continued waiting.

[SEETHA IS A PERSON WHO BELIEVES A LOT OF THINGS LIKE THIS.YEAH, THERE ARE LOT OF BELIEVES LIKE THIS IN SOUTH INDIA. SOME PEOPLE BELIEVES IT AND SOME DON'T. I CAN SAY SOMETHING AS A ADVISE. IF YOU BELIEVE IN THAT KIND OF THINGS, THEN JUST ACCEPT IT. IF YOU DIDN'T BELIEVE IN THAT KIND OF THINGS, JUST AVOID IT.DON'T GET INTO AN ARGUMENT WITH THE PEOPLE WHO BELIEVES IT. HAVE A VALUABLE REASON FOR ACCEPTING THAT OR REJECTING THAT KIND OF THING :) ]

Ram went to a bar and started drinking. The bartender suggested Ram that he can pay for some ladies and enjoy with the ladies.

The bartender showed two ladies who looked like prostitutes. Ram payed for one and entered the room that the bartender showed. The lady who was inside the room called Ram in a sweet words.

He sat on the bed near that lady and when she touched his hand he remembered 'A lot of little boys and their parents. There he was little and he was crying hardly.He saw some shattered clothes. There was a little hand let go of his hand while holding.'

Ram got up from the bed and walked towards the door. When the lady asked what happened with a confusion he said "I can't do this. I am sorry."

That lady enquired "If you left now then what about the money you paid for me?" Ram explained without looking at her face as he felt ashamed for what he was going to do "I don't care about that."

With that he left the room. That lady thought to herself 'He must be a rich person so he didn't care about his money like most of the rich people do.'

Ram left the bar feeling ashamed and came to his house where he saw Seetha sleeping at the dining table. He didn't woke her up as he don't want to disturb her sleep.

He sat on his bed. He decided to stop thinking about the lady who he met at the bar.He lay on his bed. He closed his eyes to sleep but he can't sleep as he again remembered Leela.

He opened the gallery from his phone. He saw Leela and him who were wearing graduation dress, Leela and he were watching the stars sitting on the ground, Ram watching Leela cutting her birthday cake with a smile on his face, Leela and Ram's name was written inside a heart in the beach sand, Ram and Leela are hugging each other standing on the mountain. He also played the video were Ram was admiring Leela who was busily watching the movie.

These were the photos and video of them being together. Ram touched Leela's face in that photos.He cried looking at that photos. The night passed with the sad tears falling from his eyes.

The next day arose. Seetha went to her college. Nowadays she could able to understand the foreign professor's English as it was used to her now.

She listened to the lectures. She decided to go to her college library at the last free hour. When she reached the library she searched for a good book.

She found a book which had her favourite cartoon characters which she usually watches it in her mobile. She was afraid at first because she thought to herself ' If anyone finds me reading this cartoon books then they will make fun of me.'

So she sat at the corner table of the library so that no one could find her. She read the book with full concentration. Time passed, now there was someone sitting opposite to her.

That person interrupted Seetha as he asked in amazement " Oh! Do you like cartoons very much?" Seetha was shocked to see Tarok.

She nodded her head to Tarok's question. Tarok laughed at her childish choice. Seetha requested hesitantly "Please...Don't say this...to anyone...Please."

Tarok accepted her request and said with a smile "I bought you some jewels and dress." Seetha asked "Why are you giving me this?".

Tarok answered with a smile "To become my girlfriend." Seetha gasped in amazement and said without looking into the box that she don't want anything and she won't become his girlfriend.

Tarok asked the reason and Seetha answered reasonably.Tarok asked her to open the box and said with the strong confidence that she will definitely like it and will become his girlfriend but Seetha refused.

Seetha asked with a confusion "Why do you want me to be your girlfriend?"Tarok replied with a smile "Because I like you...". Seetha interrupted saying"Hey common, We never chatted like friends or like couples. Then how could you like me?"

Tarok said "Then let's be friends or couple from now onwards."Seetha explained calmly "Look, From what I heard you seems like a rich person and there are a lot of girls who wants to be your girlfriend. Then why are you asking nobody like me?"

Tarok answered "I don't know the exact answer for this question but I can say that I like you. So let's be couple." Seetha smiled at him and said "No, I can't because I didn't feel anything like that and now bye"

With that she left. Tarok shouted " Then I will make you feel like that." Seetha heard that clearly as it was a library where everyone keep silence. She gestured silence at him before she left the library.

Seetha noticed that she took the cartoon book with her. She went inside the library again to keep the book on the shelf but she changed her mind.

She thought for a moment and decided to take that book with her. She signed for the book and left after informing it to the librarian.

Tarok watched everything in silence. He thought to himself ' I think she likes that cartoon very much that is why she is taking that book with her.' and decided to gift that cartoon to her.

Seetha did her part time job in both the shops. When she was at the cafe she shared everything with Riya as usual. Riya again scolded Tarok for what he asked to Seetha by gifting jewels and clothes.

When Seetha told about Ram Riya got more annoyed. She shouted "How could he hurt you? Why did you involved yourself in his problem?"

Seetha calmed her by gesturing silence. Seetha answered"Seeing him like that made me worried so I stopped him. It's my mistake of stopping him when he was angry.so I apologized and he is Lisa's friend so I cleaned the used cigarettes."

Riya enquired angrily " Will you clean anything that was spilled by the person who was Lisa's friend ?" Seetha explained calmly again " Lisa's friend is like my own friend and personally I felt sad for Ram. If he had mother, his mother would definitely did what I did."

Riya's temper arisen. She said " Oh! now you become his mother. See, I don't want you to get hurt. You just move out from that house. What if he hurts you again?"

She looked at her with concern.

She continued by asking "Why didn't you inform this to Lisa?" Seetha explained "I can't move out. Getting house at this costly Maseo city is very difficult and he won't hurt me."

Seetha continued with the same concern " I don't want Lisa to feel sad. If it repeats again and again then I will inform her." Riya nodded her head still in anger.

Seetha said hesitantly "Besides...I...I... nothing." Riya arose her eyebrows and said each word carefully "You know my temper. Just spit it out." Seetha again hesitantly said "I was...thinking that...I could help him to get rid of...alcohol."

Riya shouted "Are you serious? How could you help him and Why are you thinking that?" Seetha gestured her silence again and explained " I don't have any idea right now but I am thinking about it.Lisa is so close to me and Ram is so close to Lisa. Helping him in this thing is like helping Lisa."

Riya gasped disappointedly and said "I don't think it's a good idea but no one can stop you. Don't hurt yourself. That's the only thing I can say."

Seetha replied with a smile "No you can also say all the best." Riya smiled at her words and wished her good luck. They continued their work.Seetha felt happy that lot of people asked caringly her about her foot.

At the other side, Ram went to his office. He started doing his work. His manager's PA asked Ram to meet his Manager.Ram met his Manager at his Cabin.

The letter that his Manager gave shocked Ram.
