3 Cardinal Demonic Pet

Watching the fierce tiger cub baring its teeth and claws at him, Li Changsheng started to contemplate. 

To increase the success rate of signing the contract with the demon, there were usually two conventional methods. The first was to defeat the demon. It would be easier to sign a contract with the demon once it had lost its ability to defend itself. The second method was to lower the demon's guard against the tamer. The less wary the demon was toward the tamer, the easier it would be to sign a contract with them. 

The tiger cub was too young. Li Changsheng disdained the idea of bullying the tiger cub into submission. Refusing this method could also prevent the tiger cub from having psychological trauma, which would be beneficial to its growth in the future.

After Li Changsheng lowered it to the ground, the tiger cub did not run away. Instead, it clamped down on the meat and used all four limbs to tear it apart. 

As he watched the tiger cub feasting, Li Changsheng did not attempt to summon a contract immediately. The time was not ripe. 

Li Changsheng had not been a demon tamer for long. Therefore, his omniscience was limited. All things considered, he could only perform five contracts before exhausting his omniscience. 

The weaker the wild demon was, the less cautious they were. A lower physical prowess would also increase the success rate of signing the contract. 

A moment later, Li Changsheng extended his right hand to pet the tiger cub's head. 

Even though it was busy eating, the tiger cub did not drop its guard at all. The moment Li Changsheng reached out, the cub instinctively dodged Li Changsheng's hand. However, since it could not bear to give up on the food before its eyes, it relented after a few attempts at evading and allowed the human to pet its head.

During the "servicing" process, Li Changsheng paid careful attention to how his fingers felt. The moment that he had been waiting for arrived when he felt the tiger cub's muscles relax. Li Changsheng started to cast the contract.

As he began to form the contract, the light started to shine brightly and emit wisps of luster. 

In a few breaths' time, a dense purple luster appeared and instantly transformed into a purple halo that circled the tiger cub continuously. The halo was attempting to enter the tiger cub's body. 

The moment the purple halo was fully embedded in the tiger cub's body and left an Omniscience Seal in the tiger cub's ocean of consciousness, that would mean that the Cardinal Binding Contract had been successfully established. 

It was at this moment that the tiger cub sensed something was amiss. It took its eyes off the meat chunk, raised its head in a fury, and started struggling. 

Following the tiger cub's thrashing, the purple halo started to dim swiftly. It looked like it was about to disintegrate. 

The disintegration of the halo would mean that the contract failed. 

The binding strength of the contract halo was influenced by the demon tamer's level. The higher the demon tamer's level, the stronger the binding strength would be. This naturally translated to a higher success rate in subduing the demon! 

Li Changsheng was a novice demon tamer. Although the tiger cub was not powerful nor did it harbor strong wariness against Li Changsheng, the rate of success for forming a contract was still not high enough. 

However, contract halos could be stacked. Stacking more halos at a time could proportionately increase the binding strength of the contract. 

Before the contract halo disappeared, Li Changsheng cast another contract! 

Soon, a second purple halo appeared. Under Li Chansheng's control, the second halo instantly molded itself onto the first purple halo. All of a sudden, the purple halo became brighter and the binding strength received a significant buff. 

The tiger cub continued to struggle. On closer inspection, the cub seemed to be struggling less than before. This allowed the halo to embed itself into the tiger cub's body faster. 

Unfortunately, even though Li Changsheng stacked the contract two-fold, it was still difficult to complete the contract at the designated time. It seemed like it was about to disintegrate again due to the tiger cub's retaliation. 

Under the circumstances, Li Changsheng could only continue to establish another contract to stratify the purple halo's binding strength. 

A total of four contract halos had been stacked before the tiger cub lost its ability to fight back. Eventually, the purple halo was completely assimilated and disappeared in its body.

The moment the contract was successfully established, the tiger cub's body emitted a purple glow and morphed into a stream of purple light. At light speed, the stream shot into Li Changsheng's body. 

The moment the light came into contact with Li Changsheng, the purple glow disappeared without a trace. 

The rules that governed heaven and earth in the demonic world were unique. Once someone became a demon tamer, they would be able to access special bubbles of space that could be used as sanctuaries for their demonic pets to rest. These spaces were also known as the demonic pet dimensions. 

The number of demonic pet dimensions that a demon tamer could access was influenced by the demon tamer's level. The higher the demon tamer's level, the more demonic pet dimensions they could access. That also meant they could establish contracts with more demonic pets. 

Of course, certain special treasures could also increase the number of demonic pet dimensions but those were extremely rare. 

After establishing the contract, demon tamers could summon or store their demonic pets at will, although doing so would require a certain amount of omniscience. 

After the contract's completion, Li Changsheng's mouth widened across his face. He could not hide his smile.

The tiger cub squinted. It no longer tried to resist. Instead, it was moving its little head to nuzzle Li Changsheng's palm. It started to let out an affectionate purring sound. 

After Li Changsheng lowered the cub, the tiger cub laid on the ground, turned around, and entered a playful mood. It adorably rolled on the ground and revealed its soft belly. 

When an animal-type demon revealed its belly, it indicated trust and submission. 

After all, the tiger cub was a newborn and its intelligence had not matured enough. As long as the demon tamer showed sufficient kindness, the demon tamer would be able to obtain the tiger cub's approval. 

"Little fella, from now on, we'll share all weal and woe. We'll support each other and overcome all obstacles! But before that, I have to give you a name!" Li Changsheng spoke to himself while staring at the tiger cub's abdomen. 

"Oh, you're a female tiger!" 

After confirming the tiger cub's gender, Li Changsheng put a hand on his chin and started thinking. 

"Ai Xi? What do you think about this name?" 

Li Changsheng made up his mind within a few breaths. However, he was not planning to make the decision on his own. Instead, he used an inquisitive tone to ask how the tiger cub felt about the name.
