9 Chapter 9: Second run away!?

The boss finally gave a call saying that Pamela has been chosen for the position and he will call back later with more information. Although she should be happy, in her mind because of what had happened during the interview, she was not willing to work there.

After telling her father no, she did not want to go there, he was very angry and disappointed in her. She chose to keep her mouth closed since she feared if she had told him the truth he would be upset at her and not believe her.

During the night she felt guilty that she did her parents wrong by not going through the training for the job offer. Although she cried a bit, she knew she could only go forward to look for another job and try to finish school. The next day after classes ended she went to her group to ask if they can help her with some of her homework. Some of them told her they could not understand it, did not want to help, or just said that it was too much work.

She felt that although these people gave her some form of freedom, they did not really help her in a positive way. There was no time for regret as she started to go get tutoring for things she did not understand and studied more often. She would go to the library almost every day and stay there until night sometimes.

She could not understand that no matter how hard she studied she could not pass any of her classes. She spent hours studying the materials, the tutors assured her that she did well and will pass. However, it did not matter how much effort she put in because she kept failing. Everything went down the drain and the next thing she knew, she became a disqualified student. She felt as if she was a failure and locked herself in her room for a while.

Many thoughts had entered into her mind and she wondered why she could not do anything right. She felt she was really stupid for all the times she ditched class to go play and she called Topias to help cheer herself up.

She told him all that happened and at first, he kept silent until she mentioned school. He told her to calm down it was no big deal she will get a better job as well as better grades. He said all she needs is more confidence in herself and everything will be better.

The next day she went out to get another job, after a while there was no luck. Most of the places told her she needed experience or just did not want her at all. She felt sad and decided she was going to try and figure out what her career should be.

Before she could try to figure things out her parents stormed into her room and started yelling at her. They told her she is lazy and stupid for not being able to do anything that makes them feel like proud parents. The moment she started crying is when they got even more upset and further insulted her. After saying their piece they left her alone to contemplate on what she should do.

Feeling depressed over what happened, she called Topias and told them what her parents said to her. He got very angry with her parents and planned out that she should run away from home again to be with him. Pamela readily agreed and researched what taxi was closest to her and cheapest.

She waited until no one was home on the weekend before she called the taxi over to pick her up. As the taxi took only five minutes to come over, she quickly got her things and took off before her family came home. She was really nervous about being the taxi as it was her first time so she ended up making small chat with the driver. The taxi driver was kind enough to answer her questions back without getting annoyed.

After reaching the bus station she thanked the driver and paid him then asked around to see which bus would take her to Topias. Because she came early the bus station was not opened yet and she decided to be the first in line. As soon as someone walked into the room she went in line to wait for her turn. After getting her ticket she waited on the benches outside for the bus to come and take her away.

The big gray bus came and everyone made a single file line to give the driver their tickets. Pamela sat down somewhere on the front side of the bus and waited until the driver got everyone on board. When the bus finally made a turn she put on her headphones and turned up her music.

The transfer point of the bus ride is in Los Angeles which will take about an hour ride from where she started. To reach Topias the bus ride will take about four or so hours before she will arrive at her destination. She made conversation with some people and found out some things about them that were interesting. There were many adults and children on the bus which made it a new experience for her.

When she finally arrived at her destination she saw that Topias was there waiting for her on one of the benches. The moment she saw him she ran to hug and kiss him telling him how happy she is to see him. Some time later they got her things together and walked all the way to his home.
