5 Chapter 5: Long Distance Part 2

Pamela laid down on her bed and drifted off into the world of dreams where any possibilities can happen.

At first, she dreamed she and Topias were getting married on a beach with each of their family and friends on either side of the aisle. She was wearing a beautiful dress and he was wearing a tuxedo walking towards the one who will unite them. Everyone looked really happy as the sun is an orange-yellow glow in the background. When the moon came out the soft lights of the little lamps turned on and the party started. Family and friends cheered as Pamela got close to Topias to give him a kiss.

All of a sudden the world around her swirls and sucking her down into what seems to be full of nothing but fire. She could not grab onto anything to save herself from the fall and got swallowed up into the burning flames. She woke up to feeling extreme coldness that flows from her fingers to even her bones.

All she saw around her was snow falling and what seems to be an endless road from where she is standing. She started walking along the snow made path and felt only coldness while seemingly searching for something. She had no expression upon her face and tried to keep walking on this never-ending road.

Although she kept walking on, she found nothing and eventually she fell into the snow and died in it. Waking up from her dream, she wondered what it meant and prayed she will not be dying alone somewhere cold. She went to go look at pictures of her and Topias thinking something like that will not ever happen.

Several months pass by she only thinks of seeing Topias again as she dearly misses his smile and sweet embrace. She writes down how much she wants to see him and the overwhelming desire to feel his warmth. After coming back from school she found she had mail from Topias and he sent her a necklace with his last name. She stared at the necklace and was really happy that his last name was on it.

She had asked him in the game when his next might be so they could go and hang out in person again. He told her he will try to come to visit around Christmas time and spend some time with the family and she thought it was a good idea and went to ask her parents. Her parents told her no that would not be a good idea and in turn, Pamela asked if she could go visit him during the summers. Her parents became very furious to the point where they insulted her and choked her hard, saying she was stupid for suggesting that.

Pamela cried a lot that night and told Topias what happened, he told her that she should come live with him and he will take care of her. They agreed on after her graduation that he will come to take her away.

The next day everything seems to be normal and everyone went about their daily routine like nothing bad had happened last night.

June came around the corner and she felt like she was finally getting free of her parents that abused her that one night. Topias told her that he and his group of friends will come to get her early in the morning following after her graduation.

Graduation day came and everyone had to be at the high school that was performing the ceremony in the early morning. Before leaving She got her necklace that Topias gave her and put on her nice dress then her graduation gown with her hat and she was ready to go. After arriving at the high school she stood in line with other students in the gym. They were told that there was a certain way they had to walk and talk during the ceremony and each student was given an index card.

After practicing what to say and where they should go, at six pm everyone got ready to start the ceremony. As the lights turned on families of the students can be seen and they are all excited for this precious moments. The school's principal gave a long speech while having some emotional music playing in the background. After the speech, the principal gave the signal for the students to march to the chairs at the center of the fields.

Each student that got called went up to the stage and received their diploma with grateful and happy faces. Pamela got called next and because she is an honor student she got a gold badge as well her diploma. She and her family were very proud to see that she did so well in school and earning her a high rank. After all, students got their diploma the principal gave everyone some well wishes and ended the ceremony.

All students ran towards the gate and celebrated with their families their accomplishments with giggling faces. Pamela's family expressed how pleased they are with her and her grades. She wished that Topias was here with her and placed her hand on her chest to touch the necklace but, it was missing. She went around looking for it but, the teachers at the gate told her she can not go back in no matter what.

So with a heavy heart, she could only go home with her parents and call it a night. Late that night when everyone is heavily asleep she woke up to pack her things and gave Topias a call to let him know she was ready.
