“Just send her a text. An email. Go knock on her door and say hi.” Mimi’s face held a sincerity that forced me to listen. “Please.”

I couldn’t tell why she felt so strongly about me rekindling my friendship with Reese, but I conceded. “Okay, okay. I’ll send her an email.”

Before I could say more, a loud scream that would’ve been a perfect sound dubbed into The Exorcistmovie emanated from the small baby monitor beside Mimi. She smirked and shook her head. “There’s my little angel. We’ll have to talk soon. Love ya!” she said before we disconnected.

I truly had lost Reese’s phone number, so I sent her a quick email later that afternoon when I woke from a restless nap. My nerves were on fire from waiting for a reply not to mention the inconsistent sleep schedule I forced upon myself for financial gain. Maybe a walk will help, I thought and then chuckled. My last decision to take a walk had led to my current predicament.
