3 Prolonged 3 | Heart

Using her unique means, Starlight was able to see through him.

She could see multiple characteristics and personalities intertwining together that build up his soul and ego, representing a considerable part of his existence.

--- He is really broken beyond repair, for his soul to incarnate multiple personalities to guard itself, truly remarkable.

She thought look at the young man's whose age is around two hundred and fifty plus years.

His soul really did want to reincarnate badly for it to revert to its original cycle.

Unfortunately, heavy and unknown circumstances did not allow him to do so, even he himself did not want to lose his memories after being freed from that life of a chained.

[This is troublesome]

Starlight couldn't help but let out a deep *sigh* of exaggeration.

She couldn't really fathom how peculiar and strange the young man she treated as her child.

Even she was a higher existence that should have possessed omnipotent and omniscient in her own way couldn't see through the deepest secrets of the young man before her.

Either way this did not change her thoughts and plans for him.

She wanted him to be happy and to never once again be bound by the whims of fate and destiny, so the things she's planning to make will no change.

...

...

"Everything that the soul had experience in their life results in the accumulation of the so-called Karma, a ultimate concept that has been derived from the laws of fate, destiny, life, death, fortune, misfortune, kindness, balance, order, chaos, evil, righteousness, light, darkness, ten primal sins and ten commandments and many more laws that I don't have a knowledge of."

The decisions one made during their life would result in the accumulation of either positive or negative karma, one of its objectives is to quantify the true good and true evil one had committed in their lifetime in their incarnation.

This is the only information I know so far as I myself even do consider to be higher than gods themselves isn't an absolute omniscient existence."

"Then didn't I accumulate far too much true evil Karma. I have slaughtered, killed, destroyed and annihilated numerous inhabited planets, star systems, galactic systems, and numerous races back in my days.

I have caused great chaos and destruction all around the entire universe."

He clenched his fist not due to guilt, but through acceptance.

He did not try reason about what had happened, even though he isn't in control the fact that he had caused all that chaos doesn't change a thing or two to him.

"N-Now there's no need to jump into the bullets while I have yet done in my explanation."

Starlight gave him a gentle smile before continuing.

"While it's true that you have committed heinous actions in your heyday, that doesn't really mean that those actions resulted in you accumulating true evil karma, negative karma for short.

The view of mortals and gods of true good and true evil is biased and doesn't have a proper basis to begin with.

No matter what action you've committed, one's true intent is one of the primary factors that scaled whether you gain either positive or negative karma there's also other hidden and special bases that even I don't know you know.

Just as I have said before I am not an omniscient existence."

She said, out of nowhere a table and two chairs manifested out of thin air.

"Take a sit, it's tiring to always be standing around while talking."

She gestured, inviting him to take a seat.

"I never thought that even higher existences such as yourself would feel tired by standing."

"What are you? A racist…! That's harsh, you know."

"S-sorry."

"Never mind that I'm just joking around, here let me show you something interesting."

Starlight raises her right hand as her left hand's index finger was pointed onto his head.

He stayed there and just stared at her strange gestures awaiting what she's trying to accomplish.

[[Karmic Scale Of Judgement]]

[True Good/Positive Karma: 901,880,170,905,800

True Evil/Negative Karma: 1502]

[The positive karma you possess exceeds what's supposed to be the common norm of quantitative karma, I know a mortal could have gained.]

She said, the surprise in her tone of voice is apparent even to him.

"Do you have any idea how I gained such an unreasonable amount of positive karma, and what uses do they represent."

He asked straight to the point, not bothering with any other unnecessary questions.

[I don't really know myself, the only plausible explanation I can deduce with the highest possibility in mind is when you kill others or cause mass genocide.]

She nodded, agreeing to her words that could have sent shivers to any listening.

In her perspective, killing isn't really that bad unlike what others might think, as death is part of the most primal and common cycle in all existence.

To her, killing is more like a form of mercy, or some might say salvation.

Instead of going as far as torturing, causing more unnecessary pain to the recipient, killing them is more like a relief and salvation, when they die, their souls would just go back to the circle of reincarnation and be born anew in another reality.

[While killing might sound ominous and evil to your world's flawed common sense, the truth of the matter, killing someone isn't really that bad as you think you can consider it to be a form of salvation.

I don't have the specifics but if my speculations were right, killing someone who had accumulated so much negative Karma you would be granted the equivalent value of its counterpart and that is positive karma.

The races you annihilated brought great devastating destruction to the weaker races similar to your human race, they subjugate, enslave, torture, destroy and annihilate numerous races far greater than you could have imagined.

They probably accumulated too much negative karma that when you killed them, you gained positive karma.

You on the other hand just destroyed and annihilate them, you might have caused genocide but unlike those races you did not bother doing something like acting like a tyrannical king of sort, enslaving and making their lives more miserable.

You just annihilate them and that's it, nothing more nothing less.]

"You have a valid point there, that's more likely the case it seems."

Thereafter, Starlight went on to explain the things she knew about the concept of Karma being a balancing factor that supports both infinite realities and the beings that lived within.

The explanations range from simple benefits like great fortune in their next life, unique powers like systems similar to the stuff one reads in novels, then there are the wishes being granted the moment one reincarnates.

"So I still need to die in order to benefit from the power of karma?"

He asked, without much of a change in his expression.

Starlight shrugged, hearing his words before replying with a simple nod of affirmation.

Seeing this he couldn't help but let out a sigh, for the first time in a while he showed a genuine reaction and emotion apart from his always so nonchalant manner, a melancholic glimmer flashing before his eyed.

"You don't have to worry too much my child, while dying is inevitable, you won't lose your memories.

I know what you were worried about, you're worried that you couldn't take responsibility for your actions.

While this action of yours are indeed foolish in my point of view, it's your life it's choice, no matter what you choose I wouldn't dare to obstruct your path, you can do whatever you want because that's what being free is like."

She said, an otherworldly smile but gentle painted her face, before giving him a mischievous wink that made his heart flutter a bit.

"Reincarnating and keeping my memories intact isn't too bad, it seems.

I can agree with this."

[Indeed, my child, so worry not]

"Starting over, it's like a dream.

When I am but a normal student I've kept wishing and dreaming to be reincarnated with all my memories intact just like the main characters in the anime, manga and and novels I've read.

However, now that such an opportunity is in front of me, I felt both anticipation and reluctance.

Either way I don't have a choice to begin with right?

Even though you allowed me to choose, that choices were nothing but predestined choices to begin with.

You don't need to feel bad I know you have your reasoning about this matter and I wouldn't force you to spill the beans, but I want to ask you something."

His voice is becoming serious.

Starlight could only shrug already expecting him to catch her in the act.

"Do you plan to manipulate me?"

He asked, great bloodlust being released from his will.

"N-no, no, I don't dare."

"That's painful you know, to think you would think about such thing to me."

Starlight said in a bitter smile sad voice.

"Sorry, I just couldn't help but be cautious."

*Sigh*

[You don't need to feel sorry, while I did not dare to manipulate you, it didn't mean that my actions isn't close to manipulating, it's more like an indirect manipulation.

But be rest assured I am doing this for your own good.

Sooner, and later you'll find this out anyway, so there's no need to hide it.

I am planning to give you my heart.]

"Your heart?"

He asked, his always nonchalant expression crumbled completely replaced by shock.
