she rested for a whole night, rose cleared up her mind and sorted her emotions.

she has to prepare herself to see her beautiful and most beloved mother. even in her last moment.

she called Anita and let her prepare her bath which Anita quickly oblique, she assisted her to clean herself and dress, rose requested for her to wear a full white simple dress and she sat in front of the mirror while Anita is on her back brushing her long silver hair.

"Anita, will you follow me until the end?" she asked out of the blue which surprised Anita. Rose didn't look back at her instead she was staring in front of the mirror and from the mirror, she can see Anita's facial expression. she felt Anita stopped her movement for a second but later just continued to brush her hair when she answered

"Young Miss, you do not have to ask. I will follow you whenever and wherever you will be even if's in hell." Anita seriously answered. rose lips lift up

"I do not want to go to hell." she simply replied which made Anita giggled.

while Anita is doing her small task, Rose was reminiscing how Anita became her own servant despite being one also.

at that time she was only like five years old when her grandfather made a visit. all the children of the glassglow family will have to greet him in the entrance for formalities. since it was all, even she is an illegitimate child. she was included. while waiting, her siblings kept looking at her direction, asking why a maid like her is there or how filthy and ugly she was, but soon the attention was on the carriage that stopped in front.

that was the first time she met her scary grandfather. he has this aura of authority and power. even he is old, you can still feel how powerful he is. just by the way he talks and walks is emitting of prideful elegance. Rose kept cowering before him especially when he looks at her. she was afraid of him, that is a fact but she was also curious at the same time.

after they ate, their grandfather called all of them.all of his grandchildren. it was unusual that's why not only her that time is feeling nervous, all of them, even her proudful eldest sister can't help to tremble when in front of their grandfather.

they were all in the living room, his grandfather sitting cross-legged in the center of the pure white sofa while they were all standing in front of him, from the oldest to the youngest which is her. he looks so serious and he stared at each one of them very intently then after, smiled widely.

They heard multiple servants entered the room suddenly. there were lots of them carrying heavy and big boxes. while they are doing that, Rose noticed the girl by her grandfather's side, serving him, she wonders how can she serve him without making any mistakes? is she not feeling scared, she was just a little bit older than her but not that much, the girl was really braved and rose admired the unknown maidservant on the spot. she was not only beautiful but also very kind. there are some times that they encounter each other and she was the first one to show her respect and thanked her on the way.

She really had a good impression of her.

"Father, if you do not mind me asking, what are these?" her father asked standing on the corner with her stepmother. she was fanning herself covering half of her face just showing her seductive eyes.

"These are some of my treasures and since this is my first time meeting with the sixth of your children, I will let them choose one of whichever I had bought on this mansion as a gift" he said seriously then nodded to the servant and all of them opened the boxes at the same time, Insides are shining and shimmering objects.

there are jewels and golds and clothes and one thing is for sure, each one of them is very valuable.

all of the eyes are on the treasures and her siblings became very excited and their eyes glimmer with hope getting their hands on it. it would be a lie if she says she didn't feel the excitement. without further ado, the siblings scattered and looked around the boxes one by one in hope to spot the biggest jewel or the most shining object

Rose also embarrassingly walk around to check them but she has no idea what is their worth nor she needs it, she is only five, how can she know? when her siblings finally had chosen their treasure, they went back on their line and she also sadly went back on her spot empty handed

'her sixth eldest sister chose the biggest diamond she could find'

'her fifth brother chose the cape that is carved with gold linings and is very beautiful."

'her fourth brother chose the biggest ruby ring '

'her third brother chose the first thing that catches his eyes which is an ancient scepter with exquisite carvings on to it which many people would want'

'her second sister chose a very beautiful necklace many noble ladies would be jealous of'

'then finally her eldest sister chose the crown that many would die for. a golden crown from the royal family of the last dynasty while has a lot of detailed different jewel pieces in it and is very expensive in the market.'

"The treasures you chose is what I, Denise Glassglow have accumulated in this lifetime, each one of them will make you rich until you grow old and even a for a lifetime, use them wisely, but - - ".

then his cold eyes landed on Rose

"You, don't you like any of my treasures?" he asked with a low and stern voice which made rose flinched and looked slowly at him, her eyes are full of fear but thinking how Anita which is is just older by one or two years only interact with her grandfather, she mustered all her courage and looked up to him

"Uh - - uh, grandfather, I do not think I deserved getting one" Rose answered, her

she saw how he stared at her and surprisingly her scary grandfather only nodded in response

"You have my blood and that alone deserves to get something that I have, now go again and check or see what you liked to have that you want to have" he said and rose looked at his eyes before that is full of fear but now is full of admiration. Rose looked up and think carefully for a minute, the thing that she wants the most is - -

"then, grandfather, I want to have a companion as you have now please, is it gonna be fine for her to be friends with me?" Rose innocently asked and pointed at Anita which made her siblings laugh at her for being ignorant. how can she replace a treasure merely for a friend? seeing her siblings laugh at her made her cower and think twice of what she had said.

"Hahahaha" they all stopped because surprisingly out of the blue, the scarry elderly sitting comfortably on the sofa laugh very loudly, it doesn't contain any mockery but pure enjoyment. rose eyes lifted and stare at his laughing face.

"you have some good eyes, little kid" he said then signs his hands for Anita to come closer to him, he whispered something to her and her face showed surprised but then soon calmed down and then she watched as Anita came closer to her.

"Little kid, looked at her carefully, she is a slave I had bought over, check again if you want her" he ordered and rose looked up to lady and unconsciously just nodded, how can she not like her, she is beautiful and kind, she can have a companion and friend at the same time.

"then so be it, you can have her and name her. if she turns out to be a treasure, it will all have to depend on you as you are her new master from now on" he said then stood and left.

and that is how she got Anita, she didn't fully have her as a servant on her own because she doesn't have the capability to have one yet and in the end, she became an all-around maid in the mansion, Anita only comes around when she is free but even though, even she is weak and undeserving, she still recognise her as her master.

she looked at the mirror again and saw Anita's beautiful face, She has lots of things to do to get back on her but first, she needs money, money brings power and power brings authority, authority brings connections and that's what she has to have!

and she only knows one person who has the money she needs

her grandfather!

she has to meet him but she has a battle she needs to go first.

Rose stood up and walked out to the door and Anita behind following her.

Time to meet some hateful people and her dear Mother.
