The Hell's Gate (4)

Lux faints on the ground after warping the space and reflecting the attack back to the hellhound. The hellhound quickly falls and its body dissipates after taking it's own fierce attacks. One Crystal drops on the ground as it's body dissipates.

It was bright orange in colour and one look at it could already say it was not a normal mana crystal. Everyone rushed towards Lux who had fallen to the ground after reflecting on the hound's attack.

While this was happening in the outer world, Lux's consciousness was present in his soul realm. He realizes that he has fainted by using a very large scale spell in the heat of the moment in the battle. He had forgotten that he was not in his previous legend ranked body but was in the body of a beginner rank.

So, when he used the spell 'Space Warp' in this battle, he had fainted from his body not being capable of handling the consequence of using such a spell. He cursed himself for forgetting his own identity in the heat of the battle.

If he was in his previous life then, he could use this spell to warp even larger areas without even a strain of fatigue on his body. With this mistake, he realized that he was still in a beginner body and he had to cultivate being more focused to grow stronger. This mistake made him realize his own capabilities right now.

'I should not do things out of my reach right now until it is really necessary.' Lux thought.

He cultivated to regain some of his lost mana for a while in his soul realm and before long, he had woken up in the real world. Time moved slowly in his soul realm then it did in the real world so, in terms of mind Lux was already more than 300 years old.

Just about 10 minutes had gone since he had fainted. When he woke up, everyone was resting while Alice and Crystal were looking at him with a worried expression on their faces. When he woke up, their worried faces changed to a relieved one.

"Thank god you are okay. You had me worried for a while there." Alice says as Lux opens his eyes.

"If you had not woken up then I would have kicked your butt." Crystal also adds up as Lux analyzes his surroundings.

"Is it that you were worried ?" Lux's eyebrows raise upwards as he asks Crystal with a curious look.

Crystal, unable to answer him, looks away and says "Of course I was worried" in a small voice.

"What ?" Lux becomes shocked hearing her answer.

"Nothing!!" Crystal shouts as she kicks him and goes away.

When this was taking place, Alice who was watching by the side couldn't help but just give an awkward smile. She was not confident enough to joke around with Lux like Crystal. When situations like this occurred, she couldn't help thinking on how much they cared for each other.

"Look Lux we have got hold of a really precious mana crystal here." Killian quickly rushes to him after he knows that Lux has woken up. He had already realized that Lux needed some of these mana crystals from the beginning.

Lux becomes surprised looking at the mana crystal in Killian's hand. More than anything, this was not a simple mana crystal and if one would sell this, they would be rich overnight.

"Okay then I will sell this crystal after we get out and we will divide the money." Lux says as he puts the crystal in his spatial ring.

"No we can't take the money we really don't even need it. Just take it thinking as a gift from us." Gilbert quickly adds up after hearing Lux sharing the money.

"Yeah you take it" Everyone agrees with Gilbert on this topic.

They basically had no use of money and even though it would be a large amount, they would willingly give it to Lux who had helped them so much. Lux looks at them and realizes that declining this offer would not be good as they were eager for him to take it and he also required the money.

So, he just smiled and went on to other topics.

After a while of instructing everyone on their fights with the hounds, Lux goes and opens up the chest which was in the middle of the whole area. Inside there was nothing more than a piece of stone.

This stone was their ticket to get outside of the dungeon. But, as Lux's target of gaining the Sword of Hell Flames was not complete yet, they went even deeper in the dungeon.

They continued their journey to the other regions of the rock-lava terrain they were in. Along the way, they defeated many hellhounds, even some occasional hellhounds and other monsters like the lower tier fire spirits and some fire bats.

It had already been half a day since they had entered the dungeon and according to Lux's calculations, they should already be in the inner parts of the cave. He didn't know how powerful the boss monster that was present in the cave was, so he was only planning to have a look.

Considering the monsters they had fought until now, he was more than 80% sure that it should not be anything powerful. But still, he was on his guard all the time. With the help of his instructions, his group members quickly learned new techniques to deal with the monsters and also improved their battle experience and knowledge.

They were also learning at a really frightening rate. No one would believe they had only started fighting the monsters from today if they looked at their battle skills. After a while of walking, they suddenly reached another area.

This area was completely different then the ones they had seen until now. The whole area was surrounded by flames making it look like someone had used Flame Field to surround it. But, these flames were even more fierce and dangerous than a field that even an advanced rank mage would cast.

In the middle of the area was a big structure. They went near the structure to see that it was the statue of a great dragon. While everyone was in awe looking at such a great statue. It looked like a live dragon that was covered by white stone.

Lux was totally surprised when he looked at the statue. It felt like he had seen the statute somewhere before. He tried to remember where he had seen such a statue before.

Then Lux remembered where he had seen it before. It was in the file of the 6 monster Dragon Kings. This dragon statue before them was the Hell Dragon who ranked number 5 in the 6 monster dragon king.

Before he could tell the others, the whole area started shaking and the flames surrounding them got even more fierce every second. They looked like they could burn them to ashes before even a second passed. This was not the only problem as the statue before them started cracking.

Suddenly, the whole area was hot as hell and everyone was feeling it's effects. Alice quickly casted Water protection on them and enclosed them in a ball while Lux also supported her using "Blessing of Fire" on them.

The extreme burning sensation they had before was gone but they still were affected by the heat of the area. Even Lux was frightened by such a temperature.

After a moment, the whole area stops shaking and the fierce flames also clam down. They all think that the restlessness of the dungeon has finally stopped when Lux spots the real disaster.

The Hell Dragon statue which was there was no more. Instead, there was a Drake version of the Hell dragon present there. Lux didn't have any idea where this dragon had appeared from. But, he had some vague idea on what had happened.

Among the different races of monsters and humans, there was one creature that was at the peak of the world. It's powers were truly frightening and destruction was the only thing that followed it everywhere it went. It was the mighty Black Dragon God "Olethros".

It had killed all the other dragons that once were present on the earth with only some who followed it. The some dragon's who followed it were the 6 monster Dragon Kings. Only some dragons survived and ran away while forming a group that could destroy Olethros.

After a long wait, the 10 gods came to rise and they all together sealed the black dragon Olethros in the heavenly realm and made dungeons which sealed the other monsters too as they would cause problems for humans if kept together. The 6 Dragon Kings were also sealed in some dungeons and this dungeon "The Hell's Gate" was clearly one of them. It was actually as the name suggested a gate to hell.

These dungeons had been scattered in the whole continent and nobody knew where the dungeons containing the dragons were. Lux was actually the first one to spot such a dungeon. Even in his previous life, there was no one who had spotted such a dungeon and also those people who found this dungeon had not reported the nation about the whereabouts of the Hell Dragon.

Although, the one present before them was a drake version of the Hell Dragon, it was powerful enough to beat even a 20 legend ranks. Unless 2 nations formed an alliance, they could not fight this dragon. If Lux was in the form of his previous life's body, he would have no problems beating this dragon. He could have also battled on equal heights with the continent Dragon Acadia.

The only thing left for him was to break through and nothing more. HE could have already been considered on a rank between the legend rank and the god rank. The Pseudo-God rank.

Lux, knowing this, quickly tried to activate the stone that he had got from the chest to get out of the dungeon. But, to his surprise the stone was not working. Just from the presence of this mighty drake, the stone had stopped functioning.

All the other group members were terrified looking at the hell dragon. If not even a 20 legend rank mages could beat it, them fighting against it would be as easy as blinking its eyes.

"Quickly run towards the other area we came from." Lux commanded them as he too started running away.

All of them, unable to comprehend this situation, followed Lux without asking anything. They were near to the exit of this area when the flames completely blocked their way. Lux looked back to see where the drake went but, to his surprise it was completely roaring as flames came out of its mouth.

It saw Lux and his group and started rushing towards them at a really frightening speed. Although it was smaller than it's Dragon form, it was still a Drake which was only half of the size of its dragon form. But, even with such a large form, it had a truly frightening speed. It quickly caught up to them.

Lux, knowing that they couldn't escape if it chased them, handed the escaping stone to his group members and told them to run away. He then turned back ready to face the Drake which was charging towards them.
