6 Choose The Second Option

"Before all of this reincarnation and choices stuff, can I meet my newborn son or at least have a glimpse of him?" Audrey asked. She was desperate. Though, she knew that with Donna and Vonny, her son would live well even without her, but still… If she was right in front of god, maybe she could have her chance to see her son even just one last moment.

"I'm afraid not, you can't meet with him anymore since your soul is already in the borders between the living and dead," God spoke in a solemn voice. "However, though your son's life will be full of suffering, I can assure you that the friends and family you trust to take care of him will do their duty well. That is more I can say to you."

A single tear dropped on Audrey's eyes, "Thank you, God. It's enough for me to hear that my son will not live alone even if I'm not by his side anymore."

Audrey paused for a while, then her eyes filled with excitement at the sudden thought that came to her mind, "I remember, if I am going to be reincarnated, can you reincarnate as the child of my cousin Raquel in Evans' family? I heard that she is now one month pregnant. That way, even if I am not my child's mother anymore, I can still have a relationship with my son. You know, those kinds of stuff in novels where people got reincarnated while still in the womb of their mother."

Audrey heard a soft chuckle. But that chuckle didn't feel like someone would be offended, "You have read too many novels, my child. That is not how reincarnation works mostly. And besides, another soul was already destined as the child of your cousin. I am afraid that wish is impossible to grant."

"I see," Audrey scratched the back of her head and laughed awkwardly. But inside her, she felt rather disappointed. She guessed it was really impossible after all. And she needed to come to terms with that already.

"Then if you don't have any more to say, I will give the conditions for you to choose for your reincarnation. Just like what I have stated before, you are given a chance to reincarnate again in this world. However, it comes with two choices and you must think carefully of the choice you have to make," God said.

'I will be reincarnated in this world again?' Her eyes widened. 'If that's the case, then as long as it is this world, there are a lot of chances I can see my son. But…' She shook her head. 'If I do that, I just don't want to complicate his life even more.'

"Alright," Audrey said with a sigh, "What are the conditions for my reincarnation?" She asked with politeness.

"There are two options right now, of where you can be reincarnated. The first choice is you will be reincarnated as a poor woman, however, when you reach twenty-eight years of age, you will be able to marry a rich, handsome and kind man. The second choice is you will be reincarnated into a rich family, your life of comfort will be guaranteed and become successful however you will be betrothed to a man who doesn't love you and already had someone he loves. What kind of life do you want to live in your next reincarnation?" God asked.

Audrey thought for a moment before making the decision that would determine her future fate.

'I have lived a poor life all alone and work hard. In the end, this causes me to die early before I can even have a glimpse of my baby. That is why…' Audrey looked at God with determination filling her eyes. 'Even if I have to marry a man who doesn't love me, I can just divorce him anytime I want and that will settle everything. I will not be powerless again if I have to live my life for the second time. And it's not like I'm not used to a man who doesn't love me and doesn't even listen to a single word I say.'

Audrey wasn't aware of that time or would even have the chance to realize that the choice she made was something she would regret making.

"I choose the second option," Audrey said as she looked sternly at God, "That is my final decision."

"It seems, I don't need to ask anymore if that is your final action. Very well then, child. I hope in your new life, you will be able to live at your best."

With that said, a bright light sparked that made Audrey cover her eyes with her arms. God granted her choice and removed all the memories she had of her first life.

At that time Audrey was thrown to a place where a woman was waiting for the birth of her baby. The said woman groaned many times because her stomach hurt so much more than when she gave birth to her first child, but she knew she had to endure.

"Let's keep pushing, Ma'am!" said the doctor.

"Arghh, it hurts, doc. I can't stand ..." The woman grabbed her husband's hair, the other hand tightly gripping the edge of the bed.

"Keep pushing harder!"

The said woman was named Jessica Wijaya and her husband who was releasing buckets of sweat as he watched his wife give birth, was named Arthur Wijaya.

"Ahhh!" Jessica screamed out loud as her grip tightened on her husband's hair. Arthur could feel that her wife could almost pull out his hair, but compared to the pain her wife was feeling right now, his pain was nothing more. A hair could come and grow again. He must do everything to support his wife.

"Dear, you can do this," He motivated his wife even more through gritted teeth.

"Ahhh!"

Jessica pushed as hard as she could to get the baby out of her womb, in the middle of her screams the unaware Audrey's spirit entered Jessica's stomach.

After hours of labor…

The world had finally caught a glimpse of the newborn baby. The sound of the baby crying resounded through the whole room. Everyone greatly rejoiced.
