4 Chapter:4 Hunter

(Day1)

[Predators eye:activated]

my eyes stung a bit as my vision warped to a dull purple with a few red moving dots not far from where I stood perched on top of the Rocky shelter I'd decided to call home.

"I'm guessing those red dots are other demons?"

[correct:Predators eye grants the location of a total of 7 enemies within a 50 meter distance]

50 meters and all I can see is 4 demons within that distance no matter which direction I look, last night it was crawling with shadow demons...makes sense that daytime wouldn't favor them tho

"3 felis demons and one of my Kin not to bad seeing as how both are easy to bait so....let's get to grinding shall we!!"

Like any average player at their first time hunting monsters to level up I charged at the felis demon confidently although unlike a player who's hunting a monster they'd never faced before I had a rough idea how to deal with felis demons from my first encounter, I plunged my fingers straight through its eyes blinding it on one side as I followed up with shadow evasion to avoid the obvious bite attack to come.

hey facing these guys ain't too bad if you're not caught off guard

I grabbed one of the quills located on the demons back and pulled myself towards it's neck and held on tightly as the thing started jumping madly while shaking itself continuously.

"huh I can't feel dizzy either?'

[correct: shadow demons are unable to feel dizziness]

"SO THEN WHY CAN I FEEL PAIN!!?"

forget it it's not like I expected an answer

I bit down onto the demons neck while being grateful for my lack of taste buds,blood gushed from every direction as I bit down harder not wanting this last any longer.

20 EXP at this rate it'll be ages till my next level up and didn't i defeat 2 monsters till I was able to level up.....no don't complain compared to last time I was barely in danger here, games often reward players with higher EXP the closer we're to death after the fight I mean it's only natural you'd be rewarded so much after such a hard battle.

I turned my attention towards my left and activated predators eye in search of more experience

those two seem way to close could it be that their fighting?

a wicked smile appeared across my face as I thought of the easy kill I was being gifted and wasted no time in collecting it as I quickly hurried towards the two red dots moving ahead of me, I reached the two only to find a fight movie worthy had it been recorded back in my previous life.

"A 3 tailed six legged wolf facing a quilled tiger if this isn't peak fiction I don't know what is"

The wolf snapped it's jaws onto tigers neck while thrashing violently as it started to shred flesh from its neck, the felis demon started throwing its head desperately to the point where I kinda felt sorry for it.

man this is just a slaughter I thought I could face a weakened shadow demon but that's impossible now, I'll leave before it notices me too

*4 hours later*

a sense of accomplishment washed over me as the system showed my stats for the day as I walked back to shelter while using the last bit of mana I had left to keep predators eye activated on the way, my body collapsed as I entered the overlapping rocks

"grinding physically is such a harsh thing to deal with, I can't believe I'm this weak, My mana alone only allowed me to hunt 5 demons in total...sigh"

I stared blankly at my ceiling blankly before lying down on the uncomfortable floor frowning at myself

"what kind of idiot am I those felis demons have hide,if I make armour with it I won't take as much damage from attacks gah how I could forget such a helpful item in games?!"

dam if only I had thought of this earlier...sigh,let's sleep we'll use this later right now the last thing I want is to be outside.....

(Day 2)

I woke up with my body feeling as energetic as ever and walked out of my rock shelter with high confidence in myself, I activated the skill predators eye scouting for demons while picking out every felis demon in the area.My blood even though I doubt I had any was pumping through my body wildly as I approached the first felis demon of the day, I applied what I had learnt of them already and took a hard slash at its neck and waited for it to bleed out.

"let's get you back home!!"

I placed the corpse of the felis demon under my shelter although not after completely devouring it's soul, the next felis demon was different from the rest I'd faced before instead it looked more like a saber tooth than anything else

I can at least be grateful that I can see levels at least, I clinged myself onto the felis demons back with no worries seeing as how this didn't harbor any painful quills like the rest, I slashed at neck and waited for it to bleed out on its own.

"great now how exactly do I come about to making armour with animal skin?"

I crossed my arms thoughtfully till the harsh realization hit me and I stared down at the demon corpses in disgust

"right.....I have to skin them.."

although I was unable to smell the mere thought of how strong the stench might be didn't fail to make gag a bit as I got to skinning the beasts slowly, hours passed and I was quickly immersed within the art of skinning, demon blood didn't seem to stain anything as after I left the things to dry they came out clean as if I'd washed them.

"Ha I've got it all ready, the shapes are fine and there was more than enough to double layer the armour so now....."

I strung the pieces together and placed them on top of myself, surprisingly they were perfect fit and their hardness wasn't half bad either

" who said a few short survival videos weren't needed"

oho so the armour I made is equivalent to the demons level before it died.....its not a bad way to do it honestly, I can't cheat with it and kill a level 6 felis demon unless I'm also at that level....this really does feel like a well thought out game

I looked at the armour I'd placed on myself while wondering exactly what I looked like, sigh....its already way too late to go grind some more EXP I'll just sleep here and got out next morning.

"system I'm curious do other races except shadow demons and felis demons exist in oblivion?"

"cheeky are we?"

"sigh..can you at least tell me if boss monsters or extremely high leveled monsters exist in this area?"

[if master is referring to leader level monsters then yes]

"leader level?"

[leader level demons: high leveled monsters of a demon race that are rarely challenged they sit at the very top within their respective race, often due to their high level and high fear factor leader level demons usually use lower level demons in their race for hunting]

"that makes sense I mean why hunt when you can use others below you....i wonder if a leader level demon exists in the shadow demon race"

I slowly closed my eyes as I got ready to sleep, leader level demons huh after leveling up a bit I'll try our luck and after that I'll leave this area, seems like a solid plan right?
