13 CHAPTER 13: DINNER INVITATION
Krystal was at her villa busy reading her books when she thought of what had happened earlier that day. The school belle was named Flora Holmes, the only daughter of the Holmes Empire, a very well-known corporation.
They didn’t talk much about what had happened that day she saved her. Who those people were, they meant nothing to her. She wasn’t that surprised to see that they had searched for her and found her. The thing that made her get caught was her face; apparently she had become popular on the school’s forum.
Someone was always taking pictures of her and posting them. There were always negative comments about her but this had made her so popular. She knew that any time that family of hers, will be aware of her whereabouts.
Flora and her family were feeling so grateful, that they had invited her to their mansion for dinner on Friday. Since she had been found, she saw no reason to decline the invitation. She had been by herself all this time and being surrounded by another family may be beneficial to her.
She resumed with her studies once more, since she had dared that lunatic of a teacher to the bet then she must do all that she can and work hard. With the help of the pills and training she was sure that she could do well. The only problem was that she didn’t have a lot of time and this can affect her in general.
The following day she went to school as usual and concentrated on her studies. The only difference came when she was having lunch. Flora approached her from nowhere which attracted everyone’s attention. She never thought that this girl who blushed every time she was in her vicinity will be so daring to approach her at school.
“Can I join you?” she asked with pleading eyes.
Since she couldn’t chase her away she nodded her head and motioned with her eyes that she could sit.
The other students seeing their belle sitting with a girl who was doomed to be bad luck, they didn’t find that pleasing to the eye. They were all curious to the reason why this was happening. It was no secret that the school belle didn’t have any friends, she was someone who was like a Goddess. Someone who could be worshipped from afar but one can never approach.
Now that they were witnessing their Goddess, asking permission to sit this was just shocking.
“Is that delicious?” Flora couldn’t help but ask the question that she had wanted to ask from the day she saw her eating her own lunch box.
Krystal answered her by pushing the lunchbox towards Flora. Seeing that Krystal was willing to let her have taste, she was so excited that she didn’t care about her image and scooped a spoonful of rice.
When the rice was in her mouth, she received her answer immediately. She was used to having all kinds of delicious foods but she had nevereaten this kind of rice before. She only stopped after having five spoonful of rice, she was very embarrassed as she as busy wolfing down another person’s food.
“You can have it all, if it is that delicious,” Krystal said with a smile as she was satisfied with this reaction.
“What about you?”
“I can have something else, just eat at ease.”
Seeing that Krystal had given her a go ahead, Flora didn’t let her down but gulfed down the whole food. She was disappointed to see that the food was gone but there was nothing to do.
Krystal drank a bottle of milk and she was already fine. This kind of food that she eats everyday provided her with a lot of energy and since most of the energy was stored in her dantian, she could survive for a while.
“Thanks for the food.”
“It’s okay, as long as you enjoy it.”
“I-I, mm...”
“Speak!”
“Where did you buy your rice? It is very delicious,” Flora couldn’t help but ask this question.
“It’s not something that you can buy anywhere. It is very expensive,” Krystal honesty replied.
“If you can have it, is there a way that I can get some?”
“If you have a lot of money then it is possible,” Krystal spoke trying to make the mood of the other girl improve.
“Really? I will go and ask my mother then.”
Seeing that her mood had improved, Krystal put a smile on her face.
The two had a great time and Krystal promised to bring her some rice for her family to taste before they could even think about buying it. If she were to decide to sell it, she could not sell it on those exorbitant prices. Just for a 2kg of rice she had to spend a lot of silvers and if she were to exchange that to her currency then no one will be able to eat it at all. Only a millionaire could enjoy the kind of food that she eats.
That same night, she took a walk in the Tycoon mall. She was thinking of what she could buy so she ended up in the treasury hall once more. After looking at th3e available items on the shelves, she decided to purchase a virtual space which could aid her in a lot of things.
The space could be used to read, practice her martial arts and other things that she would like to do in the future. It was a multipurpose virtual space and in the space, time moved slowly which was the main reason why she chose it.
Luckily for her she bought the virtual space for only four crystals leaving her with enough crystals to buy what she wants when she feels like it.
As someone who had just bought something that she wanted, she decided to check its uses. She took out her text books from her satchel and visited the virtual space once more for more research.
It felt like weeks as she kept on changing one book to another. The air in the space was so refreshing and with the help of the fruits she had bought earlier, she felt okay.
She had made a lot of improvement which brought joy to her. As she felt tired after that intense reading, she decided to leave the virtual space and check what time it was.
When she returned to her bedroom she realized that only two hours had passed and yet she had been in that place for two days. As long as she keeps on upgrading the space then the time she spends in the space may also increase.
She was satisfied with this response, that she went to wash up and retired to bed. The next day she followed her usual routine but took more food to school since she had an inkling that Flora will be stealing her food again.
That day she took her lessons seriously and noted down what she didn’t understand. She was someone who was already ahead of others when it comes to her syllabus. In her spare time, she will be busy reading the books for the previous years.
At break time Flora joined her and for the second time, she felt at ease having someone who was willing to talk to her. It could be seen that it was Flora who was busy pursuing her and not the other way round. This still cause those arrogant kids to talk bad about her but they could not say a word about Flora at all.
At lunch Flora came again and brought a bottle of milk which Krystal accepted with a warm heart. She passed another lunchbox towards Flora who happily snatched it and began to eat like a starved child. The way she ate her food, made her think if she had been not allowed to eat any food at home but knowing her family, that wasn’t the case.
“I told my parents about the food and they are excited, they can’t wait for you to come.”
“I think you only like me because of food,” Krystal pouted as she talked.
“Ha haha, the food is definitely good but you are my hero. If you were a man, I was going to marry you. If you want I can be bent for you,” Flora said flirtatiously making Krystal shiver just thinking about being bent.
“No, that’s okay. Let’s maintain this relationship. I certainly won’t bend for anyone,” Krystal spoke as she slides a bit away from her pursuer.
Seeing what Krystal was doing, Flora couldn’t help but laugh at how funny her new friend was.
After lunch the two separated and went to their respective classes. After an exhausting afternoon, Krystal took a taxi back to her villa in preparation for the dinner that night. A car was going to pick her later that night so she had Aunt Grace go home earlier that day. When she arrived at her place, Aunt Grace had already left.
Krystal bought some rice and vegetables from the store first and packed them in a carrying bag before she washed up and changed into an evening gown. As someone who had an affinity with yellow, she had bought from the clothing store for 1 crystal. She had fallen in love with the gown from the second she had seen it and spending a measly crystal for something so elegant, she didn’t regret it.
She needed to make a great impression since her reputation was already in tatters. She looked at herself in the full length mirror and nodded in satisfaction. Ever since she began to eat the food from the mall, drink the water bought from the mall, take those pills and spend some time in the mall, her skin looked great. Even though her overall looks were still average, she had a feeling that she look great than other ladies out there.
She ate some apples while she waited for the car to come and pick her up. When she received the call that the car had arrived for her, she left the villa with the carrying bag in her other hand.
The driver helped her with the bag and opened the door for her. She smiled gently at him and entered the car. She played with her phone as the driver take her to the Holmes mansion.
She put her phone on silent mode as the car drove inside the huge gates of the mansion. Shehad seen the mansion on the internet and it was quite a great place to look at and seeing it in person felt well.
When she got out of the car, a very excited Flora ran into her embrace and she couldn’t help it but hugged the other girl back. She was clingy but she liked it. The two greeted each other with smiles before she was dragged inside.
Krystal smiled as she looked at the family she had seen that day and throw at the back of her head. Seeing those emotional eyes from the mother, she really understood the plight she went through just to see her daughter alive.
“It’s nice to officially meet you, I am Krystal Everett,” Krystal introduced herself and the woman hugged her in a tight embrace.
She felt very teary as Flora’s mom was really warm. She was reminded of her mother who died just so that she and her baby brother can live.
“Thank you for what you did that day. I don’t know what I would have done, if my baby was taken from me,” she spoke with a teary tone and Krystal had to pacify her.
“I simply helped someone in need and I am glad that nothing happened to her. Those kind of people deserve to be hacked in pieces so that nothing of that sort can happen again,” she spoke with conviction she had met so many scumbags like them before and every time she made sure that they meet their end painfully.
“They got what they deserve, we made sure of that.”
Krystal was introduced to the rest of the family. She met the parents, the three brothers and Flora the last one.
“I brought you what I promised Flora the other day,” Krystal finally changed the topic and passed the carrying bag she had brought from home.
Flora quickly snatched the carrying bag and opened it enthusiastically.
“This is the rice that I eat at home and it is something that you will not be able to find anywhere, the same applies to the vegetables. You will understand once you have a meal after using them,” Krystal simply spoke what was on her mind.
She didn’t want anyone taking advantage of her in any way even if it meant cutting ties with people as rich as these ones.
“We have heard so much about it. Once we give it a taste, we will get back to you,” Annie Holmes, Flora’s mother said and she smiled.
“But I need to tell you something in advance. The supplier of these ingredients is very tricky and moody, so the produce is not supplied in large quantities and even myself I only have those small bags each month. So if you are really interested then you need to be decisive because it is also costly.”
“Money is not an issue when it comes to something that is related to our health, so thank you for the advice.”
They finally settled down and she sat next to Flora who was busy touching her gown.
“This is beautiful, where did you get it?”
“From this new designer, she is an unknown person,” Krystal spoke half-truth and half lie.
The gown was surely made by someone she didn’t know, how was she supposed to tell the other lady about her mysterious mall?
“The designer might be unknown but this is on another level. It can compete with other high end brands. So how much did you get it? I also want one,” Flora kept on talking non-stop and she could tell that her family looked embarrassed but she was used to her by now.
She was just a child who lacked someone to genuinely speak to without any restriction.
“I spent a million to buy it,” she answered. One crystal was the same as a million anyway.
“It is really worth it. You need to help me buy one.”
“I will do so.”
The two came to a conclusion after receiving the size from Flora and a transaction of a million to her account.
The dinner finally started and she was very impressed. Chefs from rich families surely were different. This was the first time she was having dinner with so many people who didn’t look at her with disdain as Krystal Everett. When she was M, she could eat with business partners but the meals weren’t that free to have.
The dinner went well and during that time she answered every question that they had. Most of the questions were related to her time she spent in juvie and she answered them honestly.
She failed to return back to her home because Flora who had brought back a friend for the first time wanted her to have a sleep over. The two girls spent their time talking about everything until they fell into a deep slumber.
