A.N: So I just noticed that I have been writing this in 3rd person. From now on I'll be doing 1st person most of the time. Btw there has been a few changes on ch 1.

Ryu P.O.V

After I was naming my new life, I decided that it would be vital to have information and to climb a tree. Why? Well there are things called grim here so it wouldn't be the wisest choice to remain in the open where I can easily be seen. Well they can smell me too but I don't have a solution for that.

"System. Tell me my current location. Also locate the nearest town and tell me what race the majority of the town is."

' Thanks system. Also I should give you a name should I not. Hmmm. You know what, I'm naming you Jarvis.' As I was thinking that I had already climbed down and was about to start walking to Mistril.

'Jarvis...'

'Thanks. And call me Ryu, I don't like being called host.'

Now that that embarrassment was I really started walking towards Mistral. Well now let's make a plan and decide stuff. Well as my weapon I will be choosing a katana. Why, it looks cool. I am wearing clothes so I wont use my cloth of choice yet. The white shirt and pants were enough to get into a town. I don't have a armor of choice yet so can't have armor, but when I do I will chose Archers armor, because I'm going full emiya theme. Like I don't have a reason not to. Now let's make plans for Mistral. I think using UBW to see the history of a weapon in a blacksmith so they will take me as an apprentice. WAIT F ing a moment.

'Jarvis how long till the plot starts.'

It seems I have to do something major that will get me accepted into Beacon earlier. Mistrals tournament seems good as any. Also if I remember right Pyrrha Nikos is also living in Mistral.

'Jarvis use the weapon of choice to buy the best katana you can. Also how do I use UBW.I got an explanation when I got it but it wasn't fancy or anything.'

[Ryu, UBW will automatically trace any weapon within your line of sight. But with your current level it wont be perfect, so I advise you to come in contact with them. When you want to trace a weapon you must create it by taking the design that is within UBW, use it as a catalysis to make a outline for the design, fill it with mana so it can get a physical body. There is also a extra step of adding properties if it has any but thats for later.

Buying a katana.

After the word left my mouth a half transparent screen came in front of me. There were a few icons full with the last one having a mini katana drawing on it. I touched the icon to see if my hypothesis is true. A sheatless katana came out of the screen and fell into my hand. And I fell face first into the dirt. Guess it's heavier than it looks. I still managed to hold it up and gave a few good swings.

So I can gain skills by doing a certain action, that will save me points. Now lets store it and continue.

[Well yes but actually no. You see because you have a high affinity for swords helped you get the skill faster, some skill cannot be gained without buying because they aren't supposed to exist. Ex: This world doesn't have ki from DB, so you must buy some thing that uses ki from DB to gain the ability to use it.]

That's understandable. Oh, I should also buy a skill that lets me see a persons personality and intentions so I don't get scammed

Once again a little knowledge of how to use it came. It basically let him know if a person has any bad intentions and if the person has good intentions.

After 10 or so minutes

Well I managed to come here without dying. Now let's find a blacksmith. With that I started walking around. The city had the old yet new vibe. The buildings were old style yet had electricity and everything. It looked like ancient japan with technology. Is that a cat girl. Wait no,I must find a blacksmith then appreciate that cat lady.

So after a few hours of searching I found a few blacksmiths but all their products were low quality. But the shop I was in front of was different. It looked shabby and old. Probably no one came here because of how it looked, even the products were very plain. You see at this age most people liked to use long-close range weapons that looked cool. But the quality of the products were a whole league above the other blacksmiths. My blacksmithing skill kicked in and made me crave to inspect these weapons. So I walked in, the old man sitting on the corner raised his head from the book and took a look at me. He didn't see anything special so his attention went back to his book. I didn't mind, afterall I was just a kid who didn't have any money so I wasn't a customer. So after looking at dozens of weapons I noticed something strange.

"Mister would you mind answering a question for me."

"Since you asked nicely."

"Why does your shop look so shabby even though the weapons are so well crafted."

"Didn't expect you to know about weapons. As for why my shop looks like this. Does a shop have to look good if it has good goods." He did have a point, but wouldn't it attract more customers if it looked grand. Old people, never get how they think. "Also I wont sell my weapons to an amatour who will swing it araound like a stick."

"You are right. All these weapons are almost as good as mine." I couldn't help but compare these weapons to mine. They were all very sharp and solid, they don't seem to have any internal cracks that will make it brittle. Who ever made these had a lot of skill and even more experience.

"Almost as good as you weapon you say? Mind if I take a look?" The old man probably got curious that I said that my weapon was of superior quality.

"Sure, wait a minute so I can get it." After saying this I went out and into a alley to take my sword out. After taking it out from my inventory I went back in. Back in the shop the old man was reading a book, after hearing the door open he looked at me surprised as if he hadn't expected me. But as soon as he noticed the sword I was carrying, his eyes were glued onto it like a pervert peeping on women. Ignoring this I walked to the table he at and put the sword on it. He imidietley snacthed it and started inspecting it.

"Such a good sword. The one who made this was definitely a master who had previous experience with this material. The maker used a technique Im not familiar with. " Looking at me suspiciously he asked "You didn't steal it did you?"

"No. It's a family heirloom made by a master of our forging technique." I answered with an explanation I had prepared beforehand.

"Well then, you have quite the family. This would cost a year worth of earning of an average household."

"Wait so all these weapons cost a fortune." I was shocked cause there were over 40 weapons on display.

"No, no. Its not surprising that you cant see it. Your sword is much, much superior to mine. Lets end the conversation here. Now why did you come here. I know it wasn't just the weapons. My age isn't just for show."

Knowing that I had been seen through I answered. "I am looking for someone to teach me the art of forging."

"From the looks of it you have talent, because you were able to assess the quality of my weapons. I can teach you if you want."Using aura reading I knew the old man was genuinely honest. What needed right now was a solid foothold in this world, and the old man would teach me forging. I had no reason to refuse.

"I accept."

He had a big grin on his mouth while he introduced himself.

"The names Alex. But you can call me Old man."

I of course returned the gesture with an even bigger grin.

"Emiya Ryu. First name Ryu. Let's get along Old man."
